oh man, giving someone a child would be such a reward for myself
my husband and i have a daughter of my own and yes theres been difficult times raising her but being pregnant was wonderful- even though it wasnt the best with morning sickness and the rest- i just loved it!!
and to be perfectly honest, i dnt think i would suffer with attachment to a surrogate baby, knowing that a lovely couple are getting something as great as what ive got.

im only 20 with no health problems and do want to have more kids but i would just LOVE to be a surrogate for someone but still, i have no idea how it works or the way the legal stuff works in aus? if someone could fill me in that would be great.
basically i know i would feel awesome growing a gift like this for people that cant.
And id do it multiple times to.....

hope to hear opinions.... :)

Hi Babymaker,

Is makes my heart glad to read posts like yours. As I am unable to have a child myself and am relying on a lovely lady who has offered to be our surrogate. It is an incrediably wonderful thing for one woman to do for another.

Through my research in Vic and the ACT, there is an age requirement for a woman to act as a surrogate. The age is 25 - I do not know if there is room for move on this.

My advise would be to find out what the requirements are in your state to be a surrogate mum.

Again, what you are offering is a gift and I commend you for this.

Hi :)

I am a 30 year old woman who is happily married, both my husband and I want a child more than anything. We live in queensland where just a few days ago surrogacy became legal. I am now trying to find out as much information as I can but am finding it extremely difficult. I am worried that we will not find anyone to help us so to see your post it gives me hope. Thank you and know it means the world to me to know that there are people out there willing to help other less fortunate people. :flowerz:

wow, that an amazing inspiring person you are. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 7 years now and havent been blessed yet. I am in NSW. Do you mind if I ask where you from? I dont know much about surrogacy either, but i will have a look and see what info I can find :-)

some of the girls on here have said that surrogacy has just been legalised in Qld, so it would be great if you could help someone up there :)

Whilst I don't profess to be any kind of surro expert, we were looking into it for friends of ours who had a radical hysterectomy (removal of all reproductive organs, including ovaries). I can say that at 20 and after only having one child, I don't think any fertility clinics would allow you to be a surro just yet. You must be certain about having finished your own family - just in case something goes wrong with the pregnancy and it leaves you unable to have children. I don't know of a minimum age as some of the other PP's have said, but it would make sense.

To those out there seeking surro's - hang in there, there will be a womb out there waiting to nurture your bubba!!!

Hi Babymaker 90
I am writing because you are really an angle for even considering this because it is not an easy task emotionally and perhaps physically.
At 33, due to cancer, I wil be having a hysterectomy and we have not yet had a chance to have children either. We will e looking for a surroangel in the future; even thouth we may never meet ... I still want to applaud you and thank you for allowing me to think that there is hope out there :yelclap:
