hi brissy mums.
i am looking for a nice restaurant that serves a buffet style breakfast on saturday or sunday mornings. i would like to have my wedding reception as a breakfast/brunch type of thing but want to do it relatively cheap. i have tried googling but have had very little success finding a nice restaurant. has anyone been to one or has heard of one. please help. i am thinking of brisbane or even at the gold or sunshine coasts.
Rydges at Southbank do a really nice buffet breakfast.
We stayed there on our wedding night and the breakfast was included, so im, not sure what the prices are like, but the food was fantastic!

Friends of ours had a breakfast wedding at Brisbane Forest Park at the Gap. They had it at the restaurant called Walkabout Creek Restaurant - you can google it.

i was looking for somewhere where i could have a few (maybe 80) people - like a function room or something. but i will check out your suggestions. thanks
I have been to a few weddings where they had 'champagne breakfast' type receptions with full buffet breakfast - one was at Sheraton, Marriott, Rydges Southbank, also the Walkabout Creek Restaurant at the Gap, which was beautiful (wedding in the gardens below just after sunrise!!) and also.... Belinda, close to you the Calamvale Hotel (they have a function room downstairs, my friend had her son's 1st b'day there and the catering was very good)!! Good luck finding the right place for you.

I went to a buffet breakfast at a hotel which was down towards the gardens in Brisbane, near the river.
It was about 6 years ago, I am sure the hotel has changed management since then.
The breakfast was very good, and the view was very nice, too.

Fitzy's at Waterford, or the Fitzy's at Loganholme have buffet breakkies o Sundays, Loganholme one also has function rooms...... Also The Glen (its on Logan Road, not sure what suburb) also holds weddings, and has a buffet breakkie on Sunday Mornings..... I think they are priced at $10.95pp, or possibly cheaper.....
I was going to say the Glen Hotel too, in Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains/Runcorn. There buffet breakfast on a Sunday is great. And they do have function rooms etc.
