I am trying to do cc with my dd however I don't seem to be getting anywhere .... she is 8 mths old and when she starts up I just can't seem to settle her in the cot. Within a couple of mins of putting her down she will be standing up in her cot and screaming at the top of her lungs.

My DH thinks that it is ok to leave her go for 10 mins plus but this is breaking my heart. :crying:

Any tips on how to do this and also how to cope would be great.

Can you do this when they are teething or is it best to wait until the teeth are through??

Hi,

I know how hard it can be to hear your little one cry, but let me reassure you, if you persist, you will get results.

Your baby knows that if he/she makes enough noise, you will be there to comfort him/her. You need to let her/him know that you still love them, but night time is for sleep.

My baby cried for three hours the first night I tried CC and it was definately hard. I would recommend putting the TV on to drown out the noise a little and make yourself a cup of tea or something. Your baby will sleep eventually. I now have a baby that sleeps through the night and is more pleasant during the day because of such a good sleep.

I hope you can make it work for you,

please be very careful when using this technique and make sure you are doign it correctly with the amount of time you let the baby cry. there are differetn time for different ages. keep in mind that this technique only works for about 75 to 80% of babies. best of luck!
send me a PM if you want some good web sites. i don't know wether you need them or not. done a lot of research myself into this.
cheers!
