View Full Version : So Worried!!!
Hi
Today I noticed my DD's lips where blue so I thought I would pop over to the Dr just to see what was going on.
He listened to her heart for quite a while & said she has a heart murmur & gave me a referral to have a Echocardiogram at John Flynn on Wednesday at 8.45am. I am so scared & upset I don't think I will sleep until I get the results :crying: The thought of anything being wrong with my angels heart is killing me & I don't know how I will cope if she needs surgery.
Has anyone been through this & if so what where the results?

i haven't but my cousin's son had a hole in his heart. the poor kid had 17 surgeries before his 10th birthday but he is now a happy and healthy pain-in-the-butt 16 year old.
i just want to give you this too :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: i think you need one (or 4)

I have been through this with my eldest son so I know exactly how you are feeling. His results were really good as his hole is very minor and should close up in time. Even if it doesn't he wont need surgery. But his cousin if her hole does not close up by the time she is thirteen she will need an op. I am sure everything will be fine as bub is in good hands. but just in case :fingerscrossed: just for you.
Hope that helps you

Sweety, so sorry you are going through this :hugs: Am sure your beautiful little girl will be fine! :hugs:
Hi cupcake, this must be such a terrible time for you. :hugs:
Just wanted to let you know my DH's cousin was diagnosed with this as an infant, and she has led a very normal and happy life and is now a proud mum of 2!
Wishing you all the best. :)
Oh gosh hun! :hugs:
Thinking of u and ur beautiful little girl!!
:hugs: to you, I know how it feels. Emily was born with 3 heart defects.
Your DD is nearly 2, correct? Have you noticed her having blue lips ever before?? If there was a big problem that needed surgery I am positive that they would have picked up on it much earlier. Try not to worry, her age is on her side. The older they are the stronger they are. I really do doubt that there is really anything bad there. :hugs:
Thanks heaps ladies :hugs:
It is so good to have people offer you support, makes me feel not so alone.
She is so happy & healthy looking so I am guessing it will be a minor murmur the Dr wrote it as a 2/6 murmur.
I think I have noticed the blue lips from time to time but she is always so full of spirit & energy & always very happy so :fingerscrossed: it will be nothing, just a heart beating faster because it is so full of life & love :D
Will keep you all informed xx
:hugs: So Sorry to hear that CC ...poor Bubba...:crying: Hope everything goes well at the Doctors appointment :hugs: You know where I am if you need to chat

I know exactly how you are feeling my little man had a heart murmur picked up when he was born and was told it would probably be nothing.. we went and had the echo done and they found he had a hole as well as narrowing of the valves... it will be 2 weeks today and my little man will be off to hospital to have open heart surgery to fix the problem...
I am sure if your bub has something serious it would have been picked up earlier..
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just want to chat... I feel like I am a wealth of infomation on heart problems as I have done so much reading.
Thinking of you

DIANNEKB - Im sorry to hear of your lo needing surgery :hugs:
Will be thinking of you both :hugs:
Thanks DIANNEKB :hugs: to you as well, it is awful to be told that anything is wrong with your child, my thoughts will be with you & your little baby boy.
I have a friend with a 5 week old going in for heart surgery as well(short name PMD, I think) he also has strider & a bowel problem :( so I am feeling blessed that this has not been that bad that it has caused major problems, but I just hate the thought of anything being wrong in there :crying:

my DP had heart surgery on an artery when he was 4. i cant really explain it fully coz i forgot the exact name of the condition but he only has 2 valves now isntead of the normal 3 and every yr he has to have a check up on his heart and he already knows he may need an operation when he is 30ish.
:hugs: i hope your child is ok.

I hope everything is ok!! and Doc made a stuff up!! :hugs:
We had the Echocardiogram today & DD sat there like an angel for 20min nice & still, she seen her heart on the screen & heard it beating & said "look mumma bunny"so so cute. Anyway I did not get the results I have to wait for my Dr to tell me them & they have to go over the results in slow motion but she did say to me at the end that she could not really see anything that looked abnormal :fingerscrossed: but I will not know till Fri/Sat.
Thanks everyone for travelling this worrisome road with me :hugs:

Hi Cupcake,
Just saw your post, hope all is ok with gorgeous little Lilla:crying: Im sure she will be fine, the lady would not have said anything at all if she thought anything could have been wrong. For her to say there appears to be nothing abnormal is a very positive sign!
Good Luck and big :hugs: and  for you and Lilla xox
