Hey anyone whose awake
I've just gotten up with my 9month old who is shivering, her little lips are chattering away, every so often she squeals out like she is in some real sort of pain but then it will just stop and she keeps on shivering. She is responding to me, her temperature is 37.5 and I noticed it while she was still asleep next to me that, even though she was warm, she was shivering.
I've no idea whats wrong. I thought maybe it was her teeth, as she was pretty grumpy all day. She's been having runny poos several times a day for a few days, again thought it was teething. So I thought the pain was maybe she's now constipated and it hurts.
I don't know. I really don't. Looking for advice from any bhers still awake. Is this a doctor thing do you think? Apart from the shivers and the squeal she is her normal self, a bit tired perhaps...
awe Bones I hope she is ok. Sorry I dont know how to help.:hugs:
Hey
Where are you - not sure which Strawberry Fields you are referring to :p? If you are in Qld, I would call 13HEALTH....I have found them to be very helpful. Or call the equivalent in your state.
Hope she is OK :hugs:

bones, call 13health or can you get one of the night doctors out. they usually do bulk billing with children under 16 if you have a pension or health care care.
hope newbie is ok :hugs:

screw calling 13health now bones, call the doctor out. then call 13health. call the doctor first
Let us know how you go.....she is probably coming down with a flu or something. I have found 13health to be good and they seem to err on the side of caution which is good.
Poor bubs, hope you get some answers. :hugs:

Bones I think you may need to go to the hospital. The shivering will only raise her body temperature more.

I agree, please take her now if you already havn't!!! Sounds like the flu :hugs:
wth a temp going from 37.5 to 39.4 in such a short time I would go to the ED, As that can be a sgn of a septic infection. they hit hard and fast, What you just dscrbed is exactly what hapened with DD when she was septic last time.
i am not trying to scare you chances are all is fine but I would be sure to get her checked out asap
good luck
Id go to the hospy hun 37.5 to 39.4 in about 10min is not good, its not how high the temp is but how fast it rises, i hope she gets better quickly good luck hun

I don't mean to scare you, but it sounds like an infection to me. Ds had a bad uti 2 years ago & he was shivering & trembling. I hope everythings ok.

rosebones is back from the hospital... she has a mild little chest infection, poor thing. She is even more attached and angry towards strangers.. so tired. Going to sleep.
Just an update from Rosebones.
Poor little girl (and Mum).
I hope she gets better and feels better soon. It is so hard to watch them sick.
