Hi, at what age did everyone reduce daily breastfeeds from four to three? All the books discuss this happening but none seem to mention the timing.

Thanks.

my ds has just turned 91/2 months & 4 the last week i have tried to drop his arvo feed - sometimes its worked & sometimes it hasn't. the arvo feed also coincides around his pm sleep so when i have given it , it's only been a few minutes of sucking. my problem now is that i feel he's not taking enough at his other 3 feeds - but as he's bf it's difficult 2 say how much he is getting & whether he is just sucking xtra hard. i think u just have 2 go with what u think is right 4 your bub. one of my friends dropped 2 three feeds when her ds was 7 months.

Hi Jacqui.

Max has dropped a feed in the last week. He's taking more formula now (geez it's been a long drawn out process) and I think that's because he's eating more food. I don't feel like I have quite as much milk as before either.

I just go by his signs. If he seems like he wants a feed I'll happily breastfeed him, although sometimes he's happy with a bit of water.

Thanks for the feedback, Carole and Cathy. I'm not sure if Spencer is ready to go to three feeds yet. Some days he really wants four and other days he's been okay with three. As we all know, it's a case of 'suck it and see'. :D

Hi Jacqui

I think my son Hamish (now 1) dropped down to three feeds at about 8/9 mths. He's only recently dropped down from three to two, but as you said, some days it changes and he'll have a little feed in the middle.

Also, just wondering if you're still interested in contributing your experiences for my book. If so email me at Pink.Ink077@gmail.com There is no rush but I'm just trying to gather a list of who will contribute, so I have an idea of how many stories I will have to work with.

Ta,
RACH!
