Hey all!

My husband and son will be visiting over Easter. My little boy is 3 yrs old and is full of beans.

I'm wondering if you could give me ideas of things for my husband to take my son to see and do while they are there?

My MIL suggested Questacon but I am concerned that might be a bit too old for my boy?

Need lots to do as my boy is very active and when he's at home we do heaps but MIL is more sedate. A bored child can quickly become a nightmare!

They will of course be taking a trip to the zoo. Does anyone know if you can hire carts, buggies, wagons from the zoo to pull or push a child around in? Otherwise I'll ask my MIL to organise a pram for that day.

Thanks in advance!!

Questacon is great, we took our kids there last weekend and DD is 3, they have a mini Q section for the little one and also have mechanical dinosaurs and other activities for them to do, it will cost your DH $18 entry and your son is free.

if you go down to the lake just off commonwelth ave you can hire these cool bikes and ride around the lake and have a picnic lunch.

there is also the national museum, its ok but my DD lost interest quickly.

there are a lot of indoor play centres that are great can highly recommend Lollipops at brand depot and monkey mania at DFO.

the zoo and aquarium is great, we usually pack a lunch and take our time going around, as it is only small compared to other zoo's.

in the city (civic) there is the merry go round think it costs $5 for a ride and my kids love that.

the war memorial is free and now have a kids section where its all hands on and can dress up etc.

telstra tower is ok too.

botanical garden is nice also, there are a heap of really nice parks around, there is western park at Yarralumla and has train rides at a cost, not sure how much it is but its not much.

heaps of parks around the lakes (tuggeranong, ginnendirra, yerrabi, lake BG) loads of ducks so you can always take somre bread and go feed them or buy a cheap kite or just kick a ball around.

hope that helps, i am sure there is more just can't think right now.
