Hi there, I haven't used the forum before (so plesae be gentle!!) but would love to hear any ideas or suggestions on how I can increase my supply to one of my breasts. My DD is 6 weeks old and I have never had good supply to my right breast, I always put Brooke to that breast first, have tried expressing after each feed, and also tried different positions but nothing seems to help increase the supply. I have spoken to the ABA, though they don't have any other ideas other than what I have tried. My left breast is getting well drained after each feed and Brooke is growing well so she is getting enough off just the left breast but I feel so lopesided.I would love ANY other suggestions as I really don't just want to feed of one breast.Thankyou Natalie

Unfortunatly, its just physiology. A lot of women find the baby favours one breast over the other probably due to the let down or supply.
Have you tried Chiro, as sometimes positons become uncomfortable due to problems with alingment.
Also when your supply settles down you wont notice the difference so much even if she does still favour the one breast.

I definately have more supply in my right breast than my left, maybe thats normal, you are doing all the right things, as long as your bub is growing well then I wouldnt be concerned, I always try & get my bub to feed off both sides at each feed & whichever breast she fininshes the feed on is the one I start the next feed with.
Sometimes if my boobs are really full the right one looks HUGE:eek: So I know what you mean.:)

I always had a much better supply in the right breast, the left was not liked much at all.
One thing I was told was to try the 'twin' style hold while bubs is on the breast with lower supply, so they think they are on the other. If they have a true preference, they might think they are on the breast with more supply & suck longer/harder to help stimulate more.
In the end, not much worked for me (i also tried the other things you had suggested) so i would often put 2 breastpads in the bra with the smaller boob - to make them seem similar in size!!

Thankyou so much for your help. Guess I will keep doing what I am doing. I love the breast pads idea. Cheers
Hi
My DD has always favoured my right side. I persevered for a long time offering her both sides but about six or seven months down the track gave up on offering her the left side as she wasn't taking anything and just biting me on that side:rolleyes: I now only give the right.
I was reassured that bubs can do fine just on one side twins only get one booby so if it becomes a real problem don't worry. I don't have answers for the lopsidedness though:D
