My 2 and a half year old thinks he can set his own routine, why i am very flexible with him being independant i still like to be in control, ( for example i give him options, tea time, do you want veggies or pasta? ). Since about the end of Decemeber he decided he was sleeping in my bed, i was ok with it at first thinking just the over excitment of christmas and having family around ALL the time he just had bed time as our time, i have recently put a stop to it, so he decided that he will stay up until 1 am, and i had to put a stop to that, so i have made up a new rule with him, he has dinner at around 5.30 - 6ish, we go outside to have a play with the neighbourhood kids ( around his age ) home by 7 bath than we sit down it the spare room with a calming cd and look at books until 7.45 than its time to hop into bed, and i have started putting a wiggles cd on for him to listen to while he drifts off, and it works a treat, until the cd stops, than he is up and wanting to stay up all night.

Should i stop putting a cd on in bed? Or be more determin to stop him getting up playing by maybe sitting in his room with him to let him know its still sleep time? He does not understand the sun is in bed thing, as he can hear the kids his age runnig around 9.30 at night and i think he gets curious as to why they can still play and he has to go to bed?
