My sister is looking at starting her own business. She has a natural talent for makeup but needs funds to help her complete her training and setup a mobile business. She is currently a SAHM and wanting to do hours that fit into DH's shift hours, so it would be perfect for them.
I know centrelink used to do small business startup assistance but I cant find anything online about it.
Does anyone know about it or has centrelink stopped offering the service?
Sorry I am no help here - but I remember months ago I was looking for the same info. I know they used to do (possibly still do) small business loans but I couldn't find any info online either...I'd ring them to ask.

Centrelink dont give loans, they offer a package whereby you train to start a business while still recieving there assistance.
Its called NEIS

Thanks I will pass it on. Pity they dont do loans anymore, it would have really helped her get started.

When she signs up for NEIS, they will help her arrange a buiness loan once she has drawn up her business plan. They also help work out the intrest she will pay on the loan etc etc.
PLUS still support her by paying her the entitled centrelink payment, rent assistance etc.
