hey guys, im slightly concerned, as DS has been drinking ALOT of formula. In the last 24 hours we have gone through a grand total of 8.5 250 ml bottles. This equates to more than 2 litres. What the !!!
He has been having solids aswell, and also water, but he is just so damn hungry for his milk, its the only thing he wants/that calms him. I will add he is teething with teeth number 5,6,7,8 and its been hot, would that have anything to do with it?? I just cant get over how after a full bottle he;ll yell for more and drink another half a bottle. Should i be concerned, could this be a sign of diabetes that he;s so thirsty?
He has had alot of wet nappies.

I would say its the hot weather and teething.

Could you offer him more water instead of a bottle?

Its also likely that he is having a growth spurt so thats why he is drinking more also.

It's probably just to hot weather. But it could be your sons going through a groth spurt. But if your really concerened call your GP.

That does sound like a lot for a 7 month old!

If he's teething then he could be drinking by default - i.e. not because he's thirsty, but because the sucking soothes his gums.

If he takes a dummy you could try that, or give him something else to suck, and see if it has the same settling effect as giving him a bottle.

DS doesn't have a dummy, but he'll quite happily chew/suck on one of our old bottle teats when he's teething - doesn't even have to be attached to a bottle. He also has a teething pacifier that has a bit like a mouthguard instead of a teat, and that gets a good workout when gums are sore too.
