Sorry Niki but can't help you there as I don't do anything myself. I have been in Perth for a 1 1/2 but don't know many people so even visiting people is usually very rare for me. I don't do anything because usually I can't afford it, since becoming a mum and a single mum at that I don't have a lot of spare cash.

I love ten pin but haven't been in well over 3 years, I haven't been to the cinema for over 2 years, I haven't been to the pub/club for over a year.

The only advice I can give is find something you both enjoy and maybe join a club if they have one and befriend people around the same age as you.

People keep telling me that once the kids go to school you mix with people more, so can't wait till Jnr goes to see if it's true.

Usually we like to do gardening or something around the house. We are fortunate that most of our friends also have children so we do catch up fpr bbq's often on Sundays.

Most Sunday mid morning we go to Fremantle and just walk around the markets and have a nice snack or lunch then home for sleep and then the park or visting grandparents. Today DH has also fallen asleep so I am catching up on Bubhub!

We go for drives all over Perth ie: up the hills, dams, hillarys, rockingham and have a look at what ever is there.

Mandurah is a great day trip. On the foreshore they have the best playground and small fun fair/mini golf over the other side of the brigde.

Saturdays are taken up by shopping and other errands.

We try to make an opportunity of when both kids are asleep to watch DVD's and have junk food without DS 2yo hounding us for much more than he should have!

Hope this gives you some ideas.

id have to agree with mandurah... its the best place to go for a day trip:thumbsup: my boys love the fun fair and the park thats there.
other ideas are...
.kings park, the ivy watson playground is great.
.fremantle markets or just a wander round there in general
.sometimes we take the kids to the beach just for a walk not for a swim if its cool though:laughing:
.just a drive to nowhere is good too, kinda fun to see where the road takes you. (we ended up in york one day lol)
.a walk along the swan river is kinda fun...good parks to stop at along the way
.a BBQ at a good spot, whiteman park is a good one.

nice things to do alone just the 2 of you if you get the chance are a nice picnic somewhere, movies, even just a dvd at home is nice. ummm what else? a nice walk at sunset along the beach (as you can see i dont get away from my kids very often as im limited for ideas here  )

hope that helps.... you have made me think of what to do next time my DF flys home from work:thumbsup:

In summer I love going for walks (or bike rides if the kids are older) to Kings Park, Whiteman Park, Lake Munga etc and having a picnic or bbq lunch. Also sometimes movies, organise a morning tea / afternoon tea at your house with both parents & kids so the men can be happy drinking beer whilst the mums gossip & kids play :) Also as the others suggested day trips up to Mandurah can be fun, or down to the Swan Valley, or minigolfing... Or even going to a national park for lunch & a short hike :)

Not sure if ur wanting things to do by urself but here are some anyway;
~Bingo!! Sooo much fun... DP and I try to go. Yes there are old ppl there but its such a laugh and they old biddies love to see the youngins there!

~Drive-ins - there are still a couple around the place.. not to expensive..

~Or even the good old fashioned fish and chips with a loaf of bread and tomato sauce... Chip buddies on the beach! nice and cheap!

umm what else....

~What about going into Freo for tea then paying $5 for a horse and cart ride around the town!? Great fun and a bit on the romantic side!

Ok thats my brain sucked dry for now...

Most of the stuff we do revolves around friends and family and now the children are bigger we have sport every sunday morning in winter and every saturday morning in summer.

I must say I'm not really into outings unless it involves people we know. Hubby and I are so busy during the week that unless it's to see friends/family we prefer to stay home on the weekend. If it's just our little family we go for a bike ride or a picnic at a local park. But mostly we just have friends over and relax.
My hubby likes to cook so we quite often have people over for dinner, wine, dessert and lots of conversation.
