Need advice and suggestions!!
My DD is 8 months, and is still needing to feed to sleep, even for naps. She will not self-settle, and is still waking during the night for a feed. I am planning of BF until she self-weans, but I thought that by now she would be able to settle herself. She used to, months ago, but atm, she just wants mum.....
Anyone know of how to coax her into self settling during the day? How to drop the night feed?? She has 3 solid meals, and about 3-4 BFs during the day. My mum said maybe I should look into weaning her onto formula, but I want to still BF so if I can avoid formula would be great!
Thanks in advance,
Rachel

Hi, well she is probably going through a bit of seperation anxiety at the moment which is why she wants mum all the time....with mine at that age, (mind you i wasnt breastfeeding so i dont know what impact that has), he starting not sleeping at night unless i was with him, i used the the below website to help me....its a little bit of controlled crying and re-teaching the self settling thing.....
www.itstimetosleep.com
good luck:fingerscrossed:
I guess a bit of control crying.. and tough love is probobly the way to go..
My ds2s daycarer isnt very happy with me because she is trying to teach 14 month old ds2 to self settle, but it isnt going to plan for her because im not doing my part of the deal :o
I still co-sleep, and BF ds2 around 6 times a night :o
Good luck with it all :)

Thanks everyone for your help.
This afternoon, I noticed a rash on her right cheek, and a big lump on her gum... so she (hopefully) is just out of her bedtime routine due to her poor gums being sore! She has had all the "textbook" signs for teething for months now, so hopefully she will get one:fingerscrossed:
kirstenriley~ thanks for the website, will be a great help!
Jem~ Isabelle ends up in my bed half-way through the night, and will feed anywhere between 2-5 times during the night!
I think I'll just follow her lead for the time being:o
Thanks once again for all your help everyone!
