Hi, I'm a 22 year old mum living in Canberra, I'm thinking of starting a mums group just for mums under the age of 25-ish as there is absolutely NOTHING in Canberra which caters to young mothers and it's not easy to feel comfortable at mothers groups and playgroups etc when you're the only one under 30 (as I've found at my mothers group)!
If anyone is interested please feel free to message me as I'd like to know if it's going to be worth setting up.

Hi,
That sounds fabulous. I'm currently 21, and 17 weeks pregnant. I'd certainly be interested in something like this.
Good work!

That's awesome, I've got a couple other girls who are interested too, I'll let you know once we have something a bit more concrete organised. Also, if you're interested I found a group on facebook called Young Mums Group Canberra, it's only a new group, seems like it's trying to get enough interested people together first before starting up regular get togethers. Don't feel like you have to have your baby first before joining something, expectant mums are more than welcome, plus we all love passing on advice to anyone willing to listen!

hey guys im Lana :) Ive got a 2 year old, and im 19(20 later this year) Ive actually been referred to a group for young families i can give you the number of the organiser, shes looking for more new people to join this 16 week course, it meets every tuesday, and there are care workers, they look after the kids, gives us a chance to chat and have a coffee while the kids are being looked after, it usually runs from 10am till 2pm like i said on tuesdays, and its usually in kippax, and last run they organised for us all to be picked up and dropped home

Her name is gina and her number is 0417459297

Im going to be in the next course as well (hoping *fingers crossed*) but ive had 3 of my friends go through it and say it was a great experience

alternately im open to meeting up with anyone else that wants to :) i live in civic and can get most places (i dont drive so parks and stuff would be awesome :)
Would love to meet some of you ladies

That sounds awesome, I'll definitely give her a call and look into it. My biggest problem is that I live out in Bungendore and don't drive (yet! fingers crossed that I'll have my p's in a couple of months!). But I've got a few different options for getting into Queanbeyan, so hopefully I'll be able to organise something.
I'll definitely let everyone know if I end up setting up an under 25s mums group, hopefully I have some success with my driving test lol!

Hi to all the young mums out there, we've decided to set up weekly get togethers in Glebe Park at 10am every Wednesday. Anyone interested in attending is welcome to come along but as it gets closer to winter you might want to message me to double check the location, I'm not sure Glebe Park's gonna be so great in 2 degree weather!!

Same goes for any young mums who stumble across this page in a couple of years, I'm sure we'll still be doing some sort of regular get togethers, so just contact me at markchela@yahoo.com.au.

Look forward to seeing you all there!!
