My ds weighs 16kg and has for over a year now. He was eating really unhealthy and maintaining his weight. Now that I am giving healthy options he is choosing not to eat as much, though I am still offering as much food just healthier options. In the last two weeks he has lost like half a kilo. He is a very active boy.

I am seeing our paed next week so I will bring it up with him, but should I be worried?

I wouldn't be too worried just yet. Losing half a kilo isn't as bad as it sounds, unless you've been measuring him weekly for a while. If, for example, your last measurement was while he had a full tummy or hadn't been to the loo in a while then that could add a few hundred grams on it's own. I know this, cause I've had a single pee total half a litre (which is of course half a kilo in weight)! (DOn't ask! LOL)

If he's well in himself and otherwise active it doesn't sound like too much of an issue yet. DD weighed 10.1kg when she was 2 and 10.4kg when she was 3... it does seem an age when they plateaux for a while as they're burning it off as quick as they can re-fuel.
