I am thinking about making some fleece nappy covers for my DD and would like to know what is the best kind of fleece to use? Also does anyone know of any patterns out there OR has anyone made their own.
The best kind is Malden Mills fleece made in the USA. There are a few online stores in Australia that have it - try The Wee Wuns and Autumn Threads - I know there are others but cant think of them at the moment. Fleece has to be thick enough to be waterproof so try looking for some thick stuff or bonded polar fleece that already has 2 layers bonded together or use 2 layers of whatever fleece you can find! Good luck

Thankyou for the replies.
I think the concept of this (no elastic fleece pull up cover) sounds brilliant:

but haven't made one, so let us know how you go!
IMO that thick bonded stuff is overkill, especially for a cover that will have 2 layers of fleece anyway. I"ve made pockets out of the regular fleece from spotlight and get 4 hours, no leaking or wicking  all that matters with any nappy (whether fleece, wool, pul, etc) is that there is adequate absorbancy inside the nappy.

Saqqara - What kind of fleece did you use, was it the anti-pil stuff ?
Mor - I googled that nappy cover today, i am not great with the sewing machine but will give it ago.
If all fails i will buy some as thay are not too expensive...
