Hi ladies!!!

Not sure if anyone has already started a thread for this but I'm wanting an update on the treatment etc as a public patient at Joondalup Health Campus. The most recent posts I could find were from 2008 and the general opinion was that it's pretty good. I'm due to give birth to my little boy there June this yr.:yelclap: Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

In my experience Joondalup are no good, I was waiting in observation alone with my partner until I was 7cm dilated before my water finally broke and they realised I was actually in labour like I said.

A friend of mine had her baby there emergency cesaerean and they nicked her uterus without realising and she had a blood clot the size of a football sitting on her uterus.

Next time I'm going Osbourne Park

I had my second baby there - though privately and was happy enough. Though I didnt stay long as I was harrassed by the middies for FF my DD.

Friends who have gone public there seem happy enough - but are pushed out the door pretty quick afterwards..... one on the same day! The public section is very busy.

Thanks ladies!!

Hopefully nothing goes wrong and baby and I get the attention we need. Otherwise, I'm happy to leave the hospital shortly after!!

I am considering either Joondalup or Osborne Park for this bub, so would love to hear some experiences with Joondalup too :)

I've gone both public and private, and no complaints here. One of the drs I saw when going through public had not so great bedside manner, but then you can get them anywhere, and you only see them for such a short time.

The staff, food, rooms etc I was really happy with.

i posted this in another thread too- so a bit of copy&pasting;)

i had my son in joondalup public in april last year. i had a great experinece, i'll definately go back for number two.
i was really lucky in that they werent busy and i had a room to myself nearly the whole time (except for a couple of hours on the first night...)
i had him on the thurs and left saturday- not because i was being pushed out but because i just wanted to have my abby and go home!!

the only thing i didnt like was there was little consistency with staff. after the birth, i dont think i saw the same middie twice, but that will happen in any public hospital... having said that, all the different nurses were still great- i just ended up with lots of different advice

the aftercare was really great too- it was a big weight off knowing that i could go, but that the middies would still be coming to my house to check on me or that i could still contact the lactation consultants
