It's so dumb, even if I wasn't single I wouldn't celebrate it.

See, but I want my Valentine's rose, and dinner out:mad::(. I know it's all a money making thing and all that, but I would like that........it seems so romantic!

Maybe I'm just negative because I've never met a nice man who would do that, lol.

I feel like that. When I was with someone I thought and felt differently but now... well not so fussed on the whole idea.

TBH my friends have been my best valentines to me :goodvibes: They just know how to make a crappy day ok. :)

I hate it now but used to love it. It was always a special day with both my ex husband and ex partner.

Last year we hadn't been split for long & my ex tried to convince me he had a present for me & would spend some time with me that day.... of course he didn't.

This year he's trying to convince me he's serious about us again (I'm not convinced, he goes through phases like this regularly) and is saying he'll be spending it with my son & I. I wont be holding my breath, thats for sure.

I wish I had someone to make me breakfast in bed or buy me flowers then again I never got them with my ex when we were together so nothing has changed.

I love it! I love seeing people in love and expressing it to eachother, although I do think it should be shown everyday not just once a year! :)

I am single for this one and I really don't mind at all, I have chosen to not be in a relationship since breaking up with my ex and am really content with it and just focussing on my boys this year.

So I hope all those in love have a wonderful day :D

I have plans to make this day special fr my kids.

we are going to make heart shaped biscuits, and I owuld love to get some heart shaped pasta to cook for dinner. I will buy flowers from my favourite florist, to decorate the house/table.
The girls will probably make cards for each other and or me, and I will for them.

Just because some men behave unromantically, doesn't mean we have to be bitter or pass up a day for celebrating love with our loved ones.

The last time I tried dating, it also went bellyup on vally day, but I still got a lovely meal at my favourite restaurant on the beach at noosa:D

I've never bothered with it, even when in a relationship. I don't think it should be left to one day to make your other half feel special.

Freya - nice to see you back.

I'm not bothered by V day. I've had probably equal amounts of beautiful ones and single ones, father's day is the one I really wish didn't come each year.

I quite like the notion but prefer the individual and thoughtful efforts to the very commercial. What I do hate is how many people make the assumption I must be married because I have a child.

Still, seeing other people in love gives me a little chink of hope that there are still some good ones out there and that when I am ready I will meet a decent guy.

Very true. I haven't ever bothered with it, in a relationship or not. If I had a partner who needed a special day to tell me that he loved me, he's probably not worth being with.

I'm planning on buying me some flowers to brighten the house up to celebrate being single. I certainly don't need my miserable ex to help me feel good about myself. :skywriter:
