Engaged babies

Hey guys,

Im currently 34 weeks with my first baby. I went to my midwife today and she said that my bub is engaged into the pelvis. When i went home I was reading in my pregnancy manual that it isn't suppost to happen until 36 Weeks. Does anyone know of this meaning that the baby will come early? Has this happened to anyone else? Im starting to worry now that my baby will come earlier than I expected. :confused:

My son's heat was engaged at about 34weeks too and he was born 1 day early, my daughter on the other hand was 3 weeks early and her head was not engaged at the previous check up (5 days earlyer)
So from my experiance I don't think it is an indication of whether they will be early or not

Hey thanks for your reply. Im not going to worry to much about it as my midwife didnt seem to think it was a problem.

both my babies were not engaged into my pelvis until labour. My first was born at 38 weeks ( 7pounds 10oz) when my waters broke. My second was born 1 week late after the doctor broke my waters ( 9 pounds ).
