Hi girls, I finished weaning DD during the week. The first couple of days were fine but now I have on one side in particular a hard spot on the top of my boob and around the side. It's a bit tender too. Im guessing this is fairly normal and I have to ride it out?
Is that right?
thanks

Not having weaned myself...... BUT I would say its NOT normal....maybe hand express a little and try to massage the lump out....lumps = blocked duct = Mastitis = Abcess.
You might have to do this a couple of times a day to keep the lumps out until your supply decreases enough not to worry!
We were told at New Mothers Group yesterday to get to the Dr if you have lumps you cant get out, as within a matter of HOURS not days it can turn nasty.
I always find hot showers and massage help me no end! Goodluck!

Hi Mischief
I saw my Doc today, apparently it's fairly normal. It's not mastitis and she said to do what you've suggested plus she's given me some diuretic tablets to take.

I stopped feeding a couple of months ago and never had a problem...
Keep an eye on it and if it doesn't clear, go back to the doctors...
All the best...
