View Full Version : Bleeding
Hi all,
I hope it is okay that I ask this here. My doctor tested me yesterday (blood test) for pregnancy, even thought I have been bleeding. I wondered if anyone had had a period like bleed (but much lighter than normal) and continued a pregnancy. We have struggled to fall pregnant and I am dissapointed and petrified.
Thanks for any help

Hi there
MMMM well we got a BFP last Sunday and that night I started spotting light brown... few days later I had had bad pains and bleed very heavily for 2 days. I did a urine test and it came up - and did another the next morning and still -. I have not been to a dr as I know I am not preg. My preg symtoms have all diminished.
I think anything can happen for sure... how far along are you?
i did with first child good luck with everything thinking of you:kiss: :hugs:
When I was about 6 weeks with my 2nd, I bled a lot. It was a bit heavier than a normal period - It lasted 4 - 5 days. Bub was fine, she's now 3!
Good luck, :fingerscrossed: for good news

...a friend was so petite in her stature, and she and her partner hadn't planned on starting a family. Until one night she felt something 'kick'....she was 5 months pregnant and had had her periods for the entire 5 months, her daughter was born healthy and is now 6....so until you know for sure from a doctor or hospital, don't worry or be upset until you have to, as it will drain you, and your stressed hormones do affect the baby....so try and go about your time as calmly as you can.....I speak from experience, and the thing I would do differently is not worry before I knew theoutcome.....lots of hugs, Maria

Hi Maria,
Even though my last one ended up in M/c after heavy and prolonged bleeding, my eldest was born completely healthy 7 months after I was told I had miscarried her (I had been bleeding and cramping for just over a week). Thankfully I said no to the D&C at the time, and an ultrasound a few weeks later showed her there, very healthy and still kicking.
My thoughts are with you :hugs:
Hey there, my Aunty had 4 children and the first two had no bleeding but the 3rd she got her period every month of the pregnancy and he is now a happy healthy 5 year old. (altough she had him at 28 weeks, after a bad fall down a flight of stairs)And number 4 was an oops that she found out about when she had him...got her periods like clockwork and didnt gain any weight, thought her kidneys were failing her!!:D And he is now 3 and just as happy and healthy.

I was petrified in the first few weeks of preg with my daughter because I had quite a bit of bleeding!
It started out brownish but did progress onto a bright red - talk about frantic worry. I cried and told my DH that we'd lost another.
But here I am with a beautiful bub today!
You just never know what will happen and what you read isn't always - so!
At the end of the day I guess the only way is to wait and see what happens - even though it is a very hard time to go through...
I lost this one. Maybe next time. Thanks for all the support.
OH BecH, Im so sorry to hear this:hugs:

I want to say this directly, not to be rude in anyway, or to hurt you. I say this because I have had 2 miscarriages in the last two months and both times everone told me the bleeding was nothing and not to worry. But honey, go to the hospital. Bleeding is a bad sign. From the deepest most sincerest part of my heart, I hope it is nothing but don't risk it. Get yourself cheked babe.

I have been brown bleeding (just small amounts) for a week now.
I have been so upset and paranoid, I had an ultrasound yesterday and everything is perfect.
i am 5 weeks 6 days. We couldnt actually see bubby, because bubby is far far far to small, but my gestational sac was perfect shape and had a white ring around it which ment everything was alive and healthy and progressing normal.
So you can bleed and end up having a very healthy pregnancy.
