Where do I start????

Well it all started on tuesday when I went for my 6 week check. The dr said everything was good and if my bleeding hadn't spotted in the next few weeks to go see my gp and get a script for the pill. Well that was fine but it didn't bother me as it was only spotting. Then on tuesday night I started to bleed heavily. Over the next few days it just got heavier and heavier to the point where I was lucky in the last 24 hours if a maternity pad would last me an hour without over flowing.(sorry if tmi)
So this morning I rang maternity and the hospital where I had ds2 and asked them what I should do and they told me to come over to A&E. So I rang my mum and got her to come in to drive me as I didn't think it would be a good idea for me to drive over incase they wanted me to stay overnight. I then rand DP to let him what was happening.
Once we got all the kids off to school mum, DS2 and I went to A&E. They took me in pretty much straight away.
Once in a bed a registered nurse came over and put a canular(sp?) in my hand. After 3 attemps she finally got it. She then got me to give her a sample and she did a pregnancy test. I just laughed as I had my tubes done when DS2 was born.
The dr then came and got my medical history and asked me what was wrong, so after alot of talking he decieded he wanted to feel my tummy but that wasn't good enough as he couldn't feel my uterus, so he did an internal. To top all that off he had a 4th year training dr with him who also did an internal. After they left the nurse turned around and said "what did they do down there???" There was blood everywhere.
After about an hour the dr came back and told me that it was just AF starting and there was no need to worry. But he said to be on the safe side he would send me for an O/S and gave me a tablet to stop the bleeding. He then said I could go home after I got some paperwork from the front desk.
I stood up to go get dressed and I had a huge gush so I went in search of a toilet to clean myself up. I ran into him again and asked where the toilet was and he just told me to go use the one in the waiting room. (The room was full of people) I ended up breacking down in tears and told my mum that I wanted to go home NOW. She went and got a nurse who showed me where the toilet was. After I was dressed dr came back and asked was there anything wrong? Did I have a complaint? I just gave hime my hand and told him to take the canular out of my hand. He just ripped it out.
I went and got the paoerwork only to find out that my appointment to have my O/S was in 1 1/2 hours. So I started drinking the water. When I got to the O/S place I wasn't full so she had to do it another way. Lucky she did it the other way as she found out what was wrong.
I have retained some placenta!!!!!!
She was not impressed that the dr gave me a pill to stop the bleeding. So she told me to go see my gp asap.
I saw him at 5pm and told him everything and he has told me NOT to take anymore of those tablets as we need it to pass otherwise it could go septic.
My gp also told me that I should put in a complaint about that dr. I have every intention of complaining about Him.

Sorry this is very long but if I didn't tell you all of it I don't think it would have made sense.

I'm so sorry you've had such a horrible experience. I would put in a complaint as it definately sounds like they not only made a mistake but their professional attitude needs some real help.

I hope your feeling better and all works out.:hugs:

Thank you girls.

I was feeling better up untill now. When I got up to feed DS2 I felt it all again. So that tablet the dr gave me only lasted about 12 hours. Only problem now is I have really bad tummy pains. I know I can take 1-2 tablets every 4 hours of my pain meds but I don't want to take it too often cause as we all know strong pain meds are addictive. I will see how I feel after DS2 has gone back to sleep and if the pain is still there I will take 1.

Hey there mum_2_5- Are you ok? Are you getting better? Was following your story and hoping that there was no more pain :fingerscrossed: .
Did you end up getting a chance to complain about the doctor?
In the meantime, take care :hugs:

It isn't getting any better. I am going back to the drs now. I am not going to wait to see my gyno tomorrow. I have had enough of it all. I will let you know how I go.

How are you mum-2-5. I know exaclty what you are going through. Don't let them brush you off with this, it can be so serious. I still had bleeding at 6 weeks post birth and went to the maternity section of the hospital only to be told that it was my AF, then went and saw my GP who sent me for a scan which revealed retained products, she even rang the hopsital and spoke to the registrar and told them that she was sending me straight down with the scan. They wouldn't even look at the scan as it had not been done in their hospital, I ended up walking out after about 5 hours and getting nowhere. Next day got in to see a private ob/gyno, got another scan, showed same thing, he had me booked in to hospital next day to remove it, he couldn't believe what they were saying to me at the hospital. So make sure you stand your ground and demand that it be removed, apparently can be very very serious if not removed. And make sure you make that complaint about the doctor you had, he sounds horrible.
Good luck today and I hope you get this resolved ASAP and then you can relax and enjoy your little bubba.

Oh, you poor thing. What a horrible experience. The same thing happened to my friend, she ended up back in hospital on Boxing Day for a d&c.

Sorry for the delay in the update but the house was busy when I got home.

Well my gyno had a look at the films from the U/S and said that it wasn't placenta that they saw it is just heaps of blood clots. (It is blood clots as my DP SIL is a sonagrapher and she saw the films and agrees.) At least that is one good thing. He did and internal and it hurt. He said it hurt as I have an infection. So I am now on a strong course of antibiotics for 5 days and then I have to go back and see him next friday. If it gets really heavy again like before I am to go straight to A&E and I will be put on a drip for 24 hours with really strong anitbiotics. If the tablets don't work I will also be put on the drip. Once the drip has finished I will then have to have a D&C to remove the infected lining and start fresh with a new lining and be monitored to make sure the bleeding doesn't get heavy again. Hopefully it will be like a normal eriod and I will go back to my normal cycle.
I am now taking that many different tablets each it is not funny. All I can say is thank god for my usana tablets otherwise I think I would have crashed and burned by now.
Thankyou everyone for you care and support. I don't know what I would do without you ladies.

Glad to hear that's its's not retained placenta, only blood clots. Take care of yourself and look after yourself. Hopefully it will all die down with the tablets dr has given you.

Well after 2 days on the anitbiotics the bleeding has almost stopped. Everytime I think it has it will start up again, only very light, for an hour or 2. I am soooooo glad.
Thank you everyone for your support.
