View Full Version : Midwives for water homebirth-Brisbane?
Is there any midwives around Brisbane. I would like a home waterbirth, but cost is a huge consideration. If anyone can PM or an email me. Btw i have no bun yet, and just starting to look to see if it is an afforadable option. Thank you!
There is one h/b m/w IN Brisbane, on on the Gold Coast, one in Esk, one in Toowoomba and one lay m/w in Toowoomba. These are your only options.
Costs range from $2000 (you have to get your own birth pool) to $2500 (pool provided).
I'm sure all of them are flexible with payment. Many h/b midwifes allow you to pay the bulk after the birth once you have your $4000+ from Centrelink as long as you have paid something steadily throughout your pg. But even without that facility, divide $2500 up over your 40w of pg and you'll see that it really isn't that bad.
The best place to get these m/w contact details are through Bruce Teakle at the Qld branch of the Maternity Coalition Bruce Teakle bdteakle @ ine.com.au
Thank you so much for that helpful info i will look into.
