Hi,

I was wondering if anyone give me some advice i have 2 girls jazmyn 20mths and chloe 5 mths. We are looking at having a naming day/blessing ceremony for them and i just want to know from anyone thats done it whether they had candles and "holy water" included in their cermony as a celebrant that i talked does do this. If you did, where did you purchase the cup and candle from and what did you think of the whole experience?
I think it just sounds so much more personal and special as we aren't practising catholics.

Thank you:wave:

Hi there. I not long ago had a naming day for my DS. A good friend of ours actually performed the ceremony - i looked into getting a celebrant but because there are no legalties involved i didnt want to spend $250 on one. The friend of ours did a great job. I reasearched it alot and got alot of ideas of alot of different people and then wrote out the ceremony myself. It was so rewarding on the day and it was very personal which everyone loved.

I had 4 "gaurdians" which are the equivalent to god perants - you can call them what you want. I had 6 candles lined up along a table spelling out my DS's name which is COOPER. Each Gaurdian had a wish for Cooper and as they said their wish they lite their candle, and the last 2 candles were for wishes from me and DF - it was unique and very nice. I made the candles myself as i wanted them to spell out his name. But you can buy naming day candles from EBAY and probably some stores

If you have any other questions just pm me. I have lots of verses etc if you would like me to email you them. My naming ceremony is on my website (which is below) and in stories you will find the whole ceremony written out.

Goodluck with it all.
