I just need a little OMG post about the cost of getting the kids ready for a new year of schooling.

I went through the kids and found out who needed a new school bag, all needed new shoes, socks and underpants....
I have spent over $500 and that is without uniforms, books and school fees. I am grateful that its a yearly once off with the exception of shoes but OMG.

What was the most shocking thing for you to buy?

I just spent $500 on the boys school shoes and their new summer uniforms. We still have winter to come. Luckily their bags will last them until at least next term. Then I spent a fair bit for school supplies too about a month ago.

I have DD going to school next year too. The prices they charge for uniforms especially girls is crazy. A metre of fabric with a zipper and a little tie for $50  I wish I could sew.

But to school costs more than Christmas.
The worst thing was the $200 calculator (for maths in yr11). I think I spent about 1500 all together not including school fees, which are 2500 this term.
