View Full Version : SLS free baby bath?
I was reading about how bad Sodium Laureth Sulfate can be the other day so I started reading the ingrediants of all my potions & lotions. My Johnsons baby bath is one of the badies:eek: , so since them Iv been wanting to change to a SLS free baby bath but cant find one.
Does any one if you can buy it any where (in a store would be better 'cause I dont have a credit card so I cant buy from a lot of e-stores)

I'd try a health food shop or just use sorbolene cream (not great for the hair though!) - I don't think it has SLS.
What is it that you're worried about exactly? If it's a reaction I expect your DD would have "reacted" by now IYKWIM :)

My family have all avoided hair products containing SLS for years, i dont know ant particular stores in your area however i do know the envirocare products the health food stores sell doesnt contain SLS. You could try any stores that sell all natural products. With the envirocare range i used to just add my own essential oils for scent.:)

It is made from goat's milk. Also really good for sensitive skin types.
I haven't tried any yet but will be ordering some on monday when the store re-opens (they closed for a couple of weeks to restock).
I have had heaps of good reports about their products. They are Australian too! :D

"Baby Organics" is great - it's what I use for DS http://www.organicformulations.com.au/baby_organics.asp
I get it at the local health shop.

There is a brand calles Natural Instincts that do baby products adn their stuff is all completely natural - no nasties. I have seen it in my local health food shop and my mum buys their adult stuff for my little sister from her local chemist. We currently use castille soap on ds wich is a very mild, pure, organic soap. You should be able to get that easily from any health food shop.

I use GAIA from the chemist it's organic and all natural ingredients. It's free from Sulphates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrance, mineral oils, parabens, glycols and animal products.
It's great DS had a bit of cradle cap and after 2 washes it's gone I use the whole range of products fro GAIA.

Both all organic, beautiful products. Natural Instinct are available from the chemists as well. Hope you find something you like.

Gaia products are beautiful, but a bit costly. I have sensitive skin and use Dermaveen (collidial oatmeal as the main ingredient) which is available from the chemist. Same with Cepaphil, it's also free of the badies. Don't be put off by the way these more natural things tend not to foam up as much- the SLS that you are trying to avoid is a foaming agent.

I wil second the Natures Instincts for their conditioner, pure earth for all their baby range, have also tried Gaia but found that it was not as agreeable to be dd's skin as the other 2, have also tried baby organics and again not as agreeable on her skin. Price wise, Natures instincts is a cheaper than pure earth. There was a big add in the Sunday Mail on where to get Nature's instincts from, around us there is the health food shop at Stafford City, Chemart at Everton Park and the chemist in the Centro shopping centre at Albany Creek.
There's also another product called miessence that is great, all pure ingredients and no baddies, just PM if you would like to know where to get that from, my sil sells it.
Good luck, there is so much out there it really is a matter of trying products and seeing how they are on your littlies skin.
