Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting a question for others to help with. My GP thinks I might have PCOS because I have had two Cysts rupture in 3 months and many more showing on an ultrasound. I have been TTC for 4 months and been off pill since Nov 05.

I saw my Gynae in March and he said to go back to him in December 06 if I hadn't fallen pregnant by than. I don't want to go back yet incase I haven't been trying long enough. I sometimes have a 3 week cycle and othertimes have a 6 week cycle. I tried taking my temperature but ended up not varying in temperature by much.

One month I got all the signs of pregnancy except the positive test which upset me because I thought my brain would play games with me every month - lucky it didn't when I relaxed more.

How long do most people try before they start seeking addition assistance?

Hi - usually a normal gp will give 12 months - then look into treatment options but there is no reason you cant ask now - we have been trying 7 months and im now being investigated for probable pcos. There are many on here who have been trying longer than i and im sure can give their info on treatment or options theyve been given.:)

After the 1st M/C this year my Gyno said to go back to him in 3 months if nothing... I guess i was in a different situation.

They normally recommend 12 months of TTC if you are under 30, but to seek treatment after 6 months of TTC if you are over 30.

You go when you feel the time is right.

I went off the pill in March and am yet to ovulate or have a bleed (i did spot very lightly once). Both my sisters have PCOS and i had a few signs so about 3-4 months after stopping the pill I went to the Drs. After a blood test my GP said she thought I had it. I was referred to Repromed (a fertility specialist) and am about to have my appointment this Friday.

If your checking all the right things (BBT. CM, Cervical Position etc, etc (i was only doing BBT, Maybe Baby and CM)) and you cant explain your lack of conceiving then i suggest you go and follow up. what will it hurt!

:hugs:

Thank you for your suggestions. I guess I will give it another few shots and go see my doctor afterwards.

The funny thing is that I work for a private Obstetrician in Brisbane and know most things but when it comes to my own situation and body - I tend to think differently and lose the facts from my brain. I don't want to ask my boss about it because last time I did - he handed me a bottle of wine and told me to drink it than enjoy my husband for the rest of the night ;) (he has a wild sense of humour)

Thanks Ladies

Hahaha! Well chwatkins, a lot can be said for a few glasses of wine, relaxing and taking your mind off things - many a lady on bubhub has said their bubbas were concieved after one too many glasses of vino! The thing is, did you try it??!!:D
