Hi boys

I'm a freelance writer and at-home mum of Hamish, 11mths. I'm currently writing a book about breastfeeding and am looking for stories from dads about their good, bad and ugly experiences with feeding. I would like to hear what men really think about breast and bottle feeding and also their personal experiences with their baby. I'd love to know if your opinions changed post birth. If you'd like any more information please feel free to email me on Pink.Ink077@gmail.com - this is the bloke's chance for a say. Or simply email me your stories in whatever format you choose. Be creative or not! I just want your thoughts.

Thanks in advance
Rach!

With Jasmine, Cathy had real hassles with breast feeding, so for quite a long time she doing some breast feeding, expressing and we were topping up with formula. This meant that I was involved in bottle feeding which I really loved. It was great having the cuddle. Our night routine was when Jaz awoke, I'd get her up and give her to Cathy for a feed while I got the expressing equipment and prpared the formula and then gave her a feed once she had finished breast feeding.

At times I thought I would be easier to just stick with bottle feeding, but Cathy stuck with it and ended up breast feeding fine. As Jaz was used to bottles she could come out with me and I could feed her and didn't need to time a trip between two feeds.

With Alexa Cathy had no real problems so we didn't use any bottles. We tried her with a bottle a few times, but she didn't approve :p .

We were both keen on bf for health reasons and for convenience but I missed the bottle feeds as it was a lovely time with Jaz. Must admit that at times I was envious of CAahy being able to BF. It also made nights when Cathy went out (which wasn't often) difficult because part of Alexa's routine was a bf, and because I couldn't do it, I would normally have a pretty bad time for a while until I could settle her.

All in all I have no regrets that Cathy breast fed (especially as neither of our cherubs were good eaters so at least we knew they were getting some good food into them).

Good luck with your writing, and sorry this is probably too late to be of any use :o .
