View Full Version : Do you hang up your babies clothes?
Or do you fold them, or just throw them in a drawer? Pretty trivial Q lol but i'm curious to see what other mum's do :p

I hang most things up. jumpsuits, shirts, jackets, dresses etc. Pants and singlets get folded up and put into drawers.

"good clothes/going out clothes" are hung and the rest of folded in the drawers.
All folded and put away neatly.

Anything dressy or easily creased gets hung up.
Everything else is folded.

Jumpsuits, Pj's and pants are folded and put away. T-shirts, dresses and jumpers are hung up. We dont have much shelf space
Everything folded and put in draws. I imagine if I had a girl dresses/skirts would be hung up.

Most of ours a hanging up in her BIR :) a couple of singlets & shorts are folded but thats about it
All the shirts and one-pieces are hung up. The pants are folded.
I'm a big fan of hanging, though. I hang all my own clothes, whereas my partner tends to fold all of his except for his business shirts and jackets.
Tops, dresses & jumpsuits all hanging. Pants, singlets & bibs all folded in drawers.

Being a boy, DS doesn't have "dressy" or "going out" clothes, so everything is just chucked in a drawer. Even I don't have a wardrobe so there's no way he's getting one! LOL

Yep, even 18 months later and now with two kids, folding up their clothes is a source of joy for me. I don't know why!!
I fold them and put them away neatly, and with DD I hang up her dresses.
Their rooms are always perfect - I don't know why because I can't keep the rest of the house tidy to save my life, but the nurseries? Pristine!
I take so much pride in their things and their rooms - I just LOVE them. And also washing their nappies never, ever gets old for me either. I know that sounds silly, but washing their nappies and bringing them in all luffly and soft and smelling beautiful is just gorgeous. Even though I do it nearly every day!!
I hang everything but Hughs pjs, bonds singlets and shorts. Makes it so much easier to see what he has rather than folding everything and putting it on top of others.

Yep all my boys clothes are hung up except bodysuits and a few pairs of pants. I think they keep better this way and it is easier for me to see what I want to put them in haha
i hang things up....we don't have room for drawers :)

man its interesting to see what everyone else does!
dd has a BIR in her room it only has shelves and hanging space not drawers so everything is on a shelf.
Her dresses and skirts are all hung up nicely.
Her other clothes are divided into size groups and then into function groups ( eg: the 00 size has long sleeve - long leg pile, long sleeve-short leg pile, short sleeve pile and singlet pile)
the next shelf down has spit cloths all folded with bibs (folded) and socks as well as nappies, wipes and hand sanitiser.
the next shelf has bath gels, shampoos nappy rash cream and powder as well as towels (folded) blankets quilts and sleeping bags (all folded)
the next has spare nappies, spare wipes and a tub of stuff which is labelled "bigger kid stuff" that she wont need til later.
the bottom has nappies in the next size up for when she gets there.
i spose in short, i do both fold and hang.
Most of Linc's things are hung up in his built in robes. Singlets, socks, mittens, beanies, bibs, etc are in his set of drawers though :)
It good having them all hung up as I have them split into colours (I was bored on my two weeks of maternity leave before he was born ok ) so I know exactly where everything is

I hate folding and hanging up my own clothes, but I'll fold and hang Jasper's clothes...?
I only really hang things like the hand made overalls from my mum, and hand knitted jumpers I made for him, partly because they're lovingly handmade, so they shouldn't be folded into draws, but also because they're quite bulky and though I keep his draws inside his waldrobe, there is HEAPS of hanging space but draw space is as a premium!
(Though, I would have a lot more draw space if I sorted out all the 0s and packed them into the cupboard, but I'm a bit sad.... the last of the 0 sized clothes. I cant do it... not yet... he's still my BABY! :crying:)
