help with pre-eclamsia again??

Hi all! well firstly id like like to tell u a lil about me, my name is joanne, im 24 and live in brissy! my husband i had our 1st child dd 2years ago, i had a very complicated pregnancy, i had pe at 25 weeks, and was em c/s at 30 weeks, also spent 2 days in ICU, dd was home 6 weeks later! and from there life was great, im now 14 weeks preg with 2nd child, has 1st appt with hosp last thursday, spoke with doctors, midwifes, and they have put me on low dose asprin, and they have said that thats all they can do, that i will almost certainly have pe again, as when u get it so early in preg its a higher risk of having it again and all other pregnancys! this makes me scared worried! i spent 4 weeks in hospital with dd1 not sure if u could do it all again, and then other 6 weeks that she was in scn! wanting anyone help shine some light on what im feeling! thanx jo:confused:

Hi there, Guess what!!! I had PE at 26 with my first son and he was 750 grams n was in nicu for 131 days and has some disabilites but besides that we concevied bout 7 months later and sure enough i was put on the asprin as well and i was scared n worried but i carried to full term and had our second son he was a massive 5.05kg. and now we are having our 3rd n FINAL son on feb 24 and i have been on asprin n everything is and has been fine... Dont stress to much. They way the dr told me was, if ur second child is with the same partner the chances of it happening again are very very very slim however if this child is with a new partner then the chances r jsut as high as the first child. he said its like ur body is immune to the baby of the first child therefore doesnt have the need to react the way it did , if that makes sense.. well i hope all works out which im sure it will and u will prob have more scan which means u see bub more YAY congrats btw lol...

My sister was like you, had PE and HELLP with her first.. her DS was 3 weeks early via Emergency C section, she spent 2 days in ICU and seperated from her son in different hospitals for some time.. he then came home about 5 weeks later.

Well shes having her 2nd bub in 2 weeks with no complications what so ever!! So its not always true! Just try and relax and enjoy

:wave:Hello ladies, just wanna update how well iam doing iam now 35 weeks well past the 30 weeks when i had my daughter! there has been no complication at all so perfect, had last scan tues bub is 3kg and big for age! very much looking forward to having a full term bub! :D

Hello there, shoo! you have no idea how relieved i am after reading all your messages. I am now 5 months pregnant and my BP is high(No PE yet), it was fine during my first two checkups, it was low. I was so scared when Doctor told me its high, i thought i'm gonna loose my baby straight away because i haven't made proper research on these type of issues. You just gave me hope that we will be fine. Thank you and i love you all. Tell me, did the High Blood issue go away after you gave birth or did you guys continue with the medication?

Im Sorry i have some bad news, i was addmitted to hosp on thurs 8th july! with pre-eclamsia again! iam being induced tommorow nite and will be 37 weeks! up until now my pregnancey has been stress free with no high bp! hoping for my dream vbac! :D

:) hi well my lil girl LILY CATHLEEN is here, i was induced on monday nite 12th july due to PET! with No progress i had c/section at 6.30 tuesday nite! i was really happy with the whole process i got to feel contraction, know what is like when ur water breaks! but we did decide, this is our last child! came home fri, bp back to normal healthy as again!

Hey, I had PE also with my 1st, she was born by emergency c/s at 35 weeks and weighed in at 980grams.
2 and a half years later I am pregnant again, (24 weeks) and I also have been put on low dose aspirin. My doc is pretty confidant that I wont develop it again this time round. So far so good. The thing with my 1st was none of the health professionals looking after my pregnancy picked up the fact that I had PE until after my c/s.
I did a lot of research before this next pregnancy and some thing you can do are Limit your salt intake, drink plenty of water and watch your weight gain.
