It is fast approaching the 1st year anniversary for close friends of ours who lost their little fella at 37weeks.
We feel their pain very deeply and would like to do something special for them.
We had thought of buying them a star. I am so scared of over stepping the mark, it is so hard to know what to say and do sometimes. We dont want to not acknowledge his passing but we want to be as respectful as possible. I was just wanting to run this past someone else to see what others thought.

IMO buying a star is a wonderfully thoughtful gift  If you are worried about thier reaction maybe you could speak to them first to gauge how they feel about it?

I also think that it is a really lovely idea:thumbsup: but never having been in that position I don't know how they would feel.

I am sure they would be extremly happy to know that they have friends that are so caring and supportive towards them about the loss of there little bubba:hugs:

What a lovely idea!

It was recently the second anniversay of my son. although i wasnt as far along as your friend, i would have loved for someone to remember him.

I dont think it is overstepping the mark at all, i think she would be touched that you even thought of her.

My FIL bought my DS a star when he was born, i think its a lovely gift idea.

I think that is such a nice idea, I would really like it if someone did that for me.

olivia and bella's mummy,

I read your note, and put myself in your shoes, as I can, as my husband and I will acknowledge losing Perri this Wednesday coming. So I read your note, and thought if someone offered that to us this Wednesday, it would be a touching thought, and one that we would have for our lifetime. It would also be a significant bonding exercise between your family and the family of the baby, to show them that you care that much that you did this for them. You'r very thoughtful and kind with your sensitivity towards this issue.

Regards
Maria
