I have noticed, that I seem to be losing weight. I am not eating any different or exercising more. Is it normal to start losing weight after a while of BFing even if you didnt before? Although I do appreciate shedding the odd kilo, I'd like to know whats going on... I am normally about 65/66 kg but now rather like 64/63 and 167cm.

DS is 11mths and has just dropped his 11am feed. So now he has 3 feeds during the day, and one or two through the night.

I do feel dizzy every now and then and seem to be more tired every week. I put that down to the fact, that we cosleep and DS wakes me 3-4 times a night, but could it be that I am not getting enough somehow?

A friend mentioned she started losing weight when her DS started weaning himself. Anyone else experienced this?

I didn't gain a heap of weight in my preg only 6kg I think but when I started bf I got huge (for me) and went up to a size 16 maby a tad bigger (I am normally a 10-12)
Everyone says you lose weight bf but I didn't lose weight till after I finished bf ds was about 1.5 when I got back to my normal size.
If your feeling sleepy maby check your iron levels I had low iron with dd all I wanted to do was sleep.

I started losing weight after weaning DD. It's probably because I didn't have to eat for the sake of making breast milk.

I think it's pretty normal for your body to hold on to a couple of kilos while you're feeding 'just in case' and then when your little one begins to slow down they shed away.

I hope it's true. I really struggle to lose weight while BF.

I've heard breastfeeding (or at least, making milk) uses quite a few calories, which is why you're supposed to eat a little extra to cover it.

I'm breastfeeding, pregnant and eating like a horse right now and still only just maintaining my weight (usually eating like this would cause me to gain weight). I'm sure it'll catch up with me sooner or later, but with all the extra eating I'm still the same weight I was when I fell pregnant, so the only explanation that makes sense isw that the breastfeeding is taking more calories out of me than I thought.

I put on 15kg whilst pregnant. Within a few months of breastfeeding, I had lost that 15kg, plus another 5kg on top of that.
I definitely put it down to breastfeeding. I am hungry all the time & eat like a horse. I'm down to 47kg & can't remember the last time I was this thin.
DD is 11mths now, so god knows what's going to happen when she is weaned...............especially since I'll be so used to eating 10 meals a day!!
2 of my girlfriends were exactly the same & shed huge amounts of weight, all the while not exercising & eating twice as much as usual.
