View Full Version : kingscliffe holiday.....
We are going to kingscliffe for a break for 3 weeks shortly. Besides Dreamworld what else is fun for kids down that way.... I'm interested in your ideas. Thanks in advance.
Um there is the beaches, currumbin wildlife sanctuary, nature walks. The markets are usually alright.
I would be spending most days at Kinsgcliffe!!! Near the mouth of the river there is stunning. Gorgeous, clear, calm, perfect water! And you can go fishing further along the river. There is a patrolled area for the surf beach. The bowls club does reasonably priced nice meals and there is a fish and chip shop at Chinderah opposite the Tweed River called Tweed Seafood, or something like that which has ruined me for fish and chips anywhere else - delicious!!
I love Kingscliffe - my grandparents lived down there for many, many years. Lots of wonderful memories of wonderful holidays. Our kids now love going down to visit great grandma there. You will have such a wonderful time! Enjoy and stay safe in the water! :)
Oh - and I forgot to mention to take snorkel, flippers and goggles. You see heaps of fish down at the river as you are swimming, I remember loving going snorkelling around there as a kid. And you can take some bread down to feed the fish!
Do you swim at the bridge sueliz or near the ocean end of the river ? We always see people around the bridge. Thanks for your advice.
Sorry for the late response - I only just noticed your question. I prefer to swim at the mouth near the ocean to be honest, or close to the boat ramp. But people generally swim up and down the river up to and beyond the bridge. I just prefer near the mouth as more people swim there and I am a little paranoid about where I swim! :)
Away this weekend. Thanks Sue.
