kyster!! I'm sorry about twin b :'( but that is great news that baby a is going well!
well girls... I'm in love! we had our nt scan today! and baby is just beautiful! I have never seen anything so amazing in my whole life! baby is measuring 7.4cm with a heart rate of 150 bpm! scan looked normal according to her, still have to ring for blood to get final answer! but feeling so good about it! I've got pictures but dh needs to scan them! so I will add those a bit later!
got to sleep now had an exhausting afternoon and some issues with my step dad.. grrr insensitive.. would go into it but my eyes are dried up and my head is pounding from it!
goodnight lovelies xx
Hi!!
Well I officially hate doctors. Have my NT scan tomorrow but the stupid doctor wrote on my referral just an obstretics scan. Asked him if the imaging centre would know it is for my nuchal test? He mumbled under his breath and wrote on it nuchal and morphology. WTF??? Is morphology normal to have on the scan. Freaking out a little now. Plus I walked away with referral and blood form yet read blood form when I got home and it is for HIV, Rubella, Syhpyllis etc etc. All the tests I had to have BEFORE even starting IVF. I told him it is an IVF baby. I am soooo angry so I called him and he said the scan people will tell me if I need bloods done. ummm okay ?? As far as I am aware u need them done the same freaking day!!!!! I am never ever going back to him. Sorry girls just fuming and upset here. DH told me to relax and calm down but it frustrates me when dr's DONT listen!!! Creating more work and stress for the patient.
I am on I phone so can't do personals just yet. If I get on the computer tomorrow after scan I will do them!! Hope u r all well xx

I was told that they use the measurement of the neck, your hormones and your age to come up with result! maybe ring tomorrow and ask another doctor for a request form! morphology isn't til 19weeks... that's what I was told! xx good luck for tomorrow! x
I'm so sorry Kyster, you have such a positive and strong attitude, I really admire that! You are absolutely right, it is just awesome that twin A is doing so well! :hugs:
Kiz, yes peachy is correct that is what they measure. My radiology place gave me the referral for the bloods not my doctor so hopefully this is the case for you too. And yes the morphology scan is around 20 weeks, strange that he would write that? It's true that GP's no sweet FA about obstetrics... the mind boggles!
Peachy, isn't the NT scan amazing!! I know how you feel honey, it's overwhelming! Did they tell you the measurement of the nuchal fold? Mine was normal apparently but am just about to ring my OB to find out the results of bloods... fingers crossed!
So we haven't had a few people in here lately... where's cobbec, waiting for my baldies, paul64? Have we been rejected? :p Hope they're all doing OK...
Thanks Naards and Peachy..
I feel so overwhelmed with this whole thing. I feel hopeless. You ladies seem so put together!!

Kyster- I am so sorry to hear about Twin B. :hugs:Excellent news about twin A xx
Gillie- How is Bert?
Peachy- I am glad you are in :skywriter: with your bubs!!! I cannot wait for my NT scan this afternoon!! I hope things with your stepdad are not too serious :hugs:
Naards- How is good ol' Canberra today??
Well after my little break down last night (sorry girls) I am de stressing today. I am not sleeping well and I think that tiredness is cause for stress too! I am off work today as I have the opposite of constipation and MS today. Feel awful calling in especially after my 2 days off when I had my scare but I really could not think of anything worse than helping people buy clothes.
Cyclone Olga is causing a lot of rain for us today. But it is the Wet Season!!
Will be stalking BH today as I still have not bought anymore Self Raising Flour!!
And NOOO Gillie I did not eat it all !! DH has sweet tooth that would put Homer to shame!! Lucky he is 6ft 9 and all his fat goes to his big toe!!!

my scan pics!
Gorgeous Peachy!!! The stretch one is cute!!
Oh peachy those pics are just fantastic! I love the stretching one... amazing! My scan pics are nowhere near as clear as yours! We saw the babies very clearly but when it came for piccies not so clear... ahhh well at least we saw them on the screen! :D
Kiz, not good to hear you're not feeling well today. Don't feel bad about taking time off work, you are your number one priority at the moment. :hugs: So what are you going to bake next? I love being suzie homemaker... perhaps I should bake a banana cake this evening?? hmmmm
Oh and trust me, I certainly don't have it all together either... I just like to pretend I do! :p I am still having a quiet panic attack about the whole twin thing but getting things done and organised is just my way of coping and accepting... does that make sense? I also have learnt to ask tonnes of questions so that I know what I'm in for. Trust me, me being organised is definately a first!!! he he
Thanks girls for all your thoughts:skywriter:
Peachy yr pics are so cute my bubsie chuck a bit of a temper spat yesterday when my dr push the probe on its head I told my DH its taking after him lol I have my NT on Monday

Banana Cake?? ohh yumm!!! How weird is it that I feel so queasy and bleh but things seem so yummy to me today? On Sunrise, they were eating a fruit platter and I wanted it. Now I want your banana cake Naards!! But things like bread and other things make me want to run to the toilet!

:pOhh I had a baked spud with baked beans and cheese - yuuuummm!!! And if anyone says that's bad I will cry lolol. It was hot and there was no meat in it and.. well...it was bl**dy yum lolol
Ok so lets try again with some personals.
Peachy - looove the pics! I just love that you can really see them evolving into little people and all their little bits and pieces - its just incredible.
Naards - bags coming to your place if you are going to start baking again  I am going to start sniffing you girls out!
Kyster how funny that bubs had a tantrum lol. I wonder if they can frown, huff and tut at this stage too lolol because I am sure many of them would be going "um excuse me, trying to sleep here" :D Roll on Monday!!
Kiz - sooo not keeping it together! I am borderline breakdown at the moment and am just over it over it OVER IT!!! Nothing to do with my lovely little Bertie Boo, just over DH being away, over having to organise everything myself, over appointments, over being sick just over everything! I was talking to DH last night (finally!) and I nearly had a crying fit because it was soo good to finally hear his voice and I just want him home! I think I just need a good holiday, its nearly a year since our wedding and honeymoon so I told DH last night that we are def going away for 5 or so days when he gets back and we will be going somewhere that has a beach and pool so we can relax and just hang out together AND IF HE DOESN'T JUST AGREE HE CAN DO SO AT HIS OWN RISK lolol. He agreed :p
We IVF mummies go through sooo much to get to this stage, (and I am sorry but I think we have much more stress than normal root rats because of everything we have to put in), that when someone stuffs you around with a scan or BT which is routine, and doesn't appear to give a toss, then it is incredibly stressful and you are right to be annoyed! Can't wait to hear how you go this arvie and hope you feel better soon xoxo
Sorry if I have missed anyone
AFM, well I think Bert is doing ok. Nothing worrying to report. I had my appt with the endocrinologist yesterday and she is upping my meds as my levels are still too high (but in the normal range, which is ok). I questioned her on whether the fact my levels have been high will have a detrimental affect on my Bertie and she said that it shouldn't at all. As my levels were reduced by the time I actually fell preggy that is the most important thing. So I guess we will find out on Tuesday!! I am not one to wish a weekend away but god I wish it would just get to next week already lolol.
Finally spoke to DH last night and it was sooo good to hear his voice, I have missed speaking to him soo much. 6 weeks to go today and I am over it. I have had enough of him being away and just want him home now (hmmm sounding like a whinging broken record!!). I know I will snap out of it, but I am just a bit bah humbug about it all at the moment. But, we have decided on the furniture we are going to get for Bert's room and the carseat and pram etc, and he has given me the go ahead to buy them. So I am going to go in guns blazing on the weekend to get the best prices I can and put some things on layby.
Now, I need your opinions girlies - I was looking at the Safe N Sound Compaq Deluxe carseat as I have a small car and don't want anything too bulky so that we lose the passenger seat, but I was also looking at the Meridian AHR thingy with all the added inserts and side protection etc. Now, the Compaq is the highest rated by the NRMA, the Meridian not so high, which confuses me somewhat! Is anyone getting the Meridian or Compaq carseat or know anyone who has it, and does anyone have any thoughts? Everyone I speak to at the shops rave about the Meridian and say that SNS put this at the top of their list over the Compaq, but I want what's best for bubs naturally.
Geez that's a bit of a longwinded post, here's me thinking I wouldn't remember much from my last lost post lol. Can you tell I am totally not interested in work?
Hi all.

Kyster - Great news about Bubba A :yelclap: Am sorry to hear about Bubba B :hugs:
Naards - I need someone to bake for me :( I have the skills and the desire but NO ENERGY!!! I couldn't even begin to think about the washing up. Which lovely DH does anyway but I always feel bad after I've made a million dishes.
Peachy - I would love to see your photos but it keeps coming up with "invalid link" is that cause we have to be BH friends?
Gillie - I so hear you with your DH. I hate it even when mine is not night shift! I can imagine that you are o.v.e.r..i.t! BUt I have never been without my DH for that long in 6 years!! I would go the meridian AHR. That's the one we have chosen, new design and all. There's a video of it on babyzonedirect I think.
Fick - Where you at? I hope everything is ok, you have been a little quiet.
WFMB had her internet cable severed and she's been chatting away in the Due in Sept thread but I believe everything is A.OK.
Meg - I'm nearly in the 20s!!! Yay!!!
Sorry if I have forgotten anyone...
Question: Anyone looking at the Strider Plus pram? Anyone heard anything positive/negative about it?
AFM - Been super tired and went to the doc for a BT on my iron levels today cause before preg I was iron deficient and on tabs but I stopped them cause I hated taking extra extra supplements. We'll see.
I have a med cert for tomorrow but I can't help but feel bad taking the day off cause I am the only one in the office. What would you do???
One week three days till I get to see our little squishy!!! Can't wait!!!

When I had my cramps and bleeding a couple of weeks back it started as a little uterus niggle (not uncommon to me) and grew and grew into painful cramps. Now every time I get a niggle my blood runs cold as I wait to see if it stops there or if it advances on to full blown cramps again. I had one a moment ago and my blood ran so cold I am lying here on the bed shivering in 35 degree humidity. Is anyone else like this or am I only like this because I have a bad history of bleeding and losing babies? Does anyone else freak out for just the tiniest moment every time they feel a niggle or twinge?
ChickenGirl
28-01-2010, 17:51
Bella - Although I have not had a bleed experience like you, I feel the same way. I stress that every time I feel a somewhat painful cramp or niggle that I haven't before, that it means something bad is going to happen. Everything will be fine but I can't blame you for being on the edge. Remember though, that stressing is not going to help the situation any..... easier said than done I know.
When is your next scan?

yster - Sorry about twin b:kiss: sweety really great news that twin a is doing well.
A temp spat thats so funny:laughing: , i think mine being our bubs would either flip out or just lay there all
crusiy and stuff.
Peachey - Thats great news about the scan one week to go from tomorrow until i have mine
wow that photos amazing , look how far they come from the 8 week scan
damm men ( stepdads) sorry to hear he was insensitive!!:(
Naards wheres your photos hon? Please post them so we can all see
Yeah I have no idea so sickkkkkk!!! Just got referral and now I am guessing that the imaging
place will do the rest!!
BTW I texted bec she has been really sick and busy over the holiday period
but she is alright which is great. Paul i have no idea?? Or Waiting for baldies , hopefully they
are all doing super good.Umm you so need to bring me some of that banana cake:chef: , My oven doesnt work
another thing that we need to have fixed.
Kiz noone is but togther!! they just pretend to be as a way of coping
well at least I know thats the truth with me.
I can totally get the whole sleeping properly thing , I hope it gets better for you soon
also take all the time off you need , you are preggers and thats all there is to say
Gillie , I really feel for right now , hopefully the time passes by quickly , remember dh loves ya and
we are all there for you!! Yeah def organise a babymoon some real romantic time with eachother sounds a treat!!
??? Carseats , i guess depending on budget also , I would prob go the safest , just to ease my mind.
but its a hard one cos if everyone raves out the meridian , maybe thats a good choice also. hehe i think
I just got confused.
Chicken gal , yeah the strider plus looks great , I havent heard anything negative about it at all.Yay one more
week to go for me too , sooo excited !!
Bella , I am exactly the same but i keep talking to bubba and saying come on now stop having a party , if it helps my fs said that gals who do ivf sometimes have
painful cramping for three or 4 months after. There are also alot of eps on this forum of tummy probs and these can def cause cramps. I do drive myself a lil batty because i miscarried at 4 months!! So I know how u feel , hopefully we can all rest easy soon.
AFM , I am having nightmares almost nightly which has interupted my sleep pattern terribly , i think its a combo of overheating and not drinking enough and always feelin ill. I havent been to work for the last week , I just cant do it!! I feel bad !! But you know I am sick and no amount of ho humming is going to change that!!
I am hoping that I will reach 12 weeks and the fog will clear.
I fear becos ms started late i may be stuck with it for longer, I am 11 weeks tomorrow , I brought a bright blue bassinette blanky and a hat , singlet and booties set. I cant do the other big stuff just yet!! so i will keep getting small things until I start to feel safe , Thank god I have my daughter shes like its ok mum everything is going to be just fine!! There is always of course this niggle. Loving my bf for buying me entice icecream on tuesday , why can i eat icecream ? and not wanna vomit?? who knows!! Dh keeps coming up with names none of which we agree on!! oh well I am sure we can agree , we have 6 months and a bit right??
The funny thing is Dh is so aware of mc that he doesnt wanna really acknowledge anything much until we know everything is ok , I have cramps all the fricken time , but i guess the thing is not everyones body is the same and I have endo and pcos , so i know the cysts will reform over time , which could make pregnancy uncomfortable , ok gonna have saladas now
Take care

morning lovely ladies!!
I keep changing my mind about finding out the sex.. I want to know.. but the only reason I ever wanted to find out was because I wanted to be prepared and we have everything organised so now.. I don't know.. I'm secretly hoping baby doesn't cooperate and we can't see anything but dh wants to find out and I really don't want to deny him that not after al we've gone through to get to this point!!
well I've found a student midwife and she's lovely, she lives really close and has worked along side my doctor before! even better she has 3 kids through ivf!!
more good news! I haven't vomited all week! I think it's passing! yay!!
I even went back into work yesterday to ask about coming back soon!
anyway I'm babysitting today and must get out of my nice warm comfortable bed! :-)
xxx
Morning!! WARNING: LONG POST!
Peachy- IKWYM with wanting to be organised. DH wants to find out too, but I am standing my ground and not letting him!! He has had 2 and this is my first. I guess I just want a surprise at the end.
Mincazz- Sorry to hear about your nightmares! I hope they go away soon. Ohh Icecream is good!! What is your flavour?
Bella- I also have not had a heavy bleed like yours but I did have a scare. I do freak out at things that don't feel normal. I am glad I feel little twinges as I say to myself Snoopy is getting comfortable. HUGE :hugs:
Chicken- YAY for one week! I am hoping the week will FLY for you so you can see your little squishy!! :yelclap:
Gillie- Huge :hugs: for you as well. Those last few weeks before they come home are hell. You just want them to be here and get it over with. I feel for you 100%. Harder also when you are pregnant I can imagine and you want to share things with him. Have you got anything planned for your one year anniversary? DH and I were discussing ours coming up in May and we decided to take 5 days off and stay an hour out of town at a resort. I seriously cannot wait!
AFM- My headache has not completely gone and I have a feeling that is causing my :barf: not MS. I slept reasonably ok last night but still feel awful. I am supposed to be working the late shift tonight and have not decided if I am or not. Like I have said before I just feel SO guilty about taking time off. At least I don't feel as bad as I did yesterday. hmmm... decisions...
Peachy has inspired me so I decided to put albums up myself. There is 4 albums in total (only 7 pics) from the little blastie snoopy was to the NT scan we had yesterday. Unsure how to get the link up so it goes straight to it so...
NT scan yesterday was beautiful, we had to get ours done at a medical imaging place and the staff were not that great personality wise but main thing is we got to see bubs. Snoopy was sleeping at first and looked like he was sucking his thumb but then decided to wake up! After a few stretches Snoopy was active and moving around. Did not get pics as good as Peachy's but the images on the screen were amazing!
If you remember my little tantrum about the DR not giving me a blood form to get my bloods done for my test and he told me the imaging place would give me one. The person doing the scan told me the pictures and blood results that the DR got me to do will get sent to Adelaide together and I will get the results in a week. I was probably in awe about bubs and did not click at the time and in the car on the way home I said to DH, I didnt get any blood form to get them done! So now I am even more angry!
Should I complain?
Sorry about the :ecomcity:
Ah ha!! Figured it out!!

kazallie, hugely quick one as I am on my way out the door and already LATE for work! My Obstetrician has already given me my bloods form for my NT bloods and it also has the HIV, syphilis etc tests on it, just like yours does. It kinda scrawls off towards the end so I can't read every word but my guess is that its a standard blood run that is done at this stage. My mum is a medical laboratory technician who runs blood results and I asked her and whilst she couldn't remember all the names of the tests for this stage of pregnancy (she has been retired for a while) she did say that there is a standard set of tests that all the 12 week pregnant bloods coming in go through, and even if you have had them before (ie. pre-IVF) they will almost certainly test them again because that is best practice and no doctor wants to leave themself open to litigation for negligence by not re-testing. My OB is very experienced (retiring end of this year) has been recommended to me by soooo many people its not funny, and I trust him absolutely. You may find the bloods referral he gave you is correct, but they also do the barrage of other tests with the same blood at the same time. Maybe go see a bulk billing GP to show them the referral and check what they think and if they think it has covered all the tests that need doing? Just a second opinion may put your mind at ease. :hugs: GOTTA GO!!!

P.S. NINE weeks today!! oh my!! :smiliedance: :smiliedance: Almost a quarter of the way through!!!
Bella-
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
I feel like an idiot now!! I am getting my tests done today!! Hopefully 24hrs from scan to bloods will not matter too much!
YAY for 9 weeks!!! woot woot!!
Hi ladies!
Bella, that's awesome, 9 weeks! It's strange but I felt alot more relaxed once I hit nine weeks.. I have no idea why it just seemed like a good week. As the others have said I haven't had a scare either but I do worry all the time, it's hard not to! It took us alot to get where we are and the thought of losing that is just incomprehensible! Take is easy honey, you've made it to nine weeks and that is seriously fantastic!! By the way, I went to the loo this morning and didn't check the TP!!! First time in 10 weeks! :p
CG, actually I'm like you, at the moment I love to cook but then it gets to the cleaning up part and I have no interest whatsoever! My house is a pit! I even had people over a few weeks ago and the house was not even close to clean... trust me that NEVER happens! I am mortified if people drop in and my house isn't clean, stupid really! As for the energy, I actually have got a bit back which is nice so I went back to personal training this week. I feel like a beginner! Now to put things into perspective I'm used to leg pressing 235kgs, well I'd be hard pressed to do 20! Not sure if it's the two bubbas or just the fact that I haven't been for 12 weeks but sheesh! ;)
Popcorn sounds good!! Mmmmm I might have to have some for lunch... he he
Kiz, not good to hear that you're still not feeling well, I hope it improves for you soon! Also I can understand the frustration with your BT, we're used to everything being explained through IVF and now when we don't have that level of confidence it gets overwhelming and frustrating! I am surprised however that they didn't give you a referral at the scan??
Great piccie! It's so amazing isn't it? Actually your piccie could be mine too! he he I'll figure out to put mine up, not that you can see much.
Peachy, I'm so glad you're feeling better honey! Yay for second trimester!
Gillie, I can only imagine what it's been like for you without DH. Hang in there sweetie, he'll be home before you know it.. I know easier said than done.. :hugs:
Hi to everyone else!
So I just got my results from my NT scan and my risk factor for both is 1:2144 which I am ecstatic about!! I was worried that because of my age that the ratio would be smaller but this is great and my OB is very very happy. :smiliedance:
Woohoo it's Friday!!! Have a great day girls! x
OK, lets see if I did this correctly... here's my link to my photos...

I really have a strong feeling its a boy!! But do i need to know? hmm I dont know maybe we will just decide on the day of the scan!!

Naards - great pics! How awesome to see them up close! I think they look like you lol :D Holy crap woman 235kg? That's unbelieveable! Great results on your NT scan too!
Yay peachy great results, you can't ask for much better than that!!!! I think that mummy definitely gets to call the shots on whether to find out the sex or not and if you don't want to find out then DH just has to deal with it lolol
Kiz - Go snoopy go! So pleased you got a great look at heshe. I don't think 24 hours between will make any difference - I think they just say to have the bloods done earlier so that there is enough time to get the results back by the scan date, but I don't think it matters really. I have mine taken first on Tuesday at 930, then have my scan at 10, then meet with the consultant dude at 1030, but they do the bloods testing on site so you get the results back in the hour (but geez you pay for it - no bulk bill!!!!). Yeah i am at that stage now where I just don't want to wait until March, I am over it NOW lolol. God I am a whinger, honestly I need to put a sock in it and just suck it up princess lol
Nothing really planned for our anniversary, I might take him out for dinner on the Friday, but I have no idea what to buy him for a present (he has bought mine over there!). But I am going to take 2 weeks off so we will go away somewhere, I was thinking maybe the mid north coast around Forster/Port Macquarie/Coffs Harbour kinda way (for those NSWelshwoman out there!) and have a little second honeymoon to celebrate the 8 months out of the 12 we have been together lolol. I bet you are counting down to May as well, at least it gives you something to aim towards before bub comes because August feels soooo far away lolol. Any ideas what resort you will go to? Probably not somewhere near water lolol
Chicken - where did you get your organic popcorn from? Is it buttered and salted as well lolol? I think that def serves DH right for leaving you along :D
 if I have missed anyone else, trying to be secret squirrel at work (ummm so not working lol)
What's everyone have planned for this weekend? I have a pretty busy day tomorrow, I am taking the disgusting dirty fleabag to the beauty parlous for a well overdue tub, which means i will also try and do a bit of cleaning and change the bed etc and wash all her bits and pieces so she is totally clean again, (also in a vain attempt to try and stop me getting eaten alive while we have cuddles lol)! Am going to go and wheel and deal so I can hopefully layby Bertie's bits and bobs from the baby shop, maybe do a bit of shopping as I have to get something for friends of ours in Adelaide who had the most gorgeous twin girls a week or so ago. Hmmm I think that's about it!
I JUST WANT IT TO BE TUESDAY!!!!! I can't wait to see my little bubba again!

Just dropping in quickly to let you all know that we have our appointment with Dr Jon at RPA on Monday. DP is feeling fine, though I'm starting to worry that maybe bubs has stopped growing or something. That GP last week really frightened me.
Also, I'm off to see a cardiologist next Friday due to some weird chest pains and rapid heartbeats I've been experiencing. Tbh, I'm quite scared. Scared enough that I've kicked the smoking habit almost completely. Down from 15-20 a day to 2 a day. So um, yeah. That's all I have.
Wishing you lovely ladies all the very best. Sorry for not being around/not doing personals. I daresay I'm not really missed. :)

Um, 'sqeeze meee Fick but you most certain are missed :D and don't you dare think otherwise lol
Glad to hear DP is feeling ok - try not to think that means bad news because I am sure everything is fine. Don't let thatwretched GP get one over you!! Only 2 days until you get to see your Dr at RPA and hopefully he can settle your fears, honestly, that GP has a lot to answer for!! Disgraceful!
So sorry to hear about your heart....I certainly hope it is nothing serious and just stress related, considering everything you have gone through of late! Even so, still needs to be dealt with and good on you for reducing the fags, you are to be commended.
Apart from feeling 'fine', how is DP feeling otherwise, does she still feel confident or a bit so so, worried etc? Is Dr Jon going to be your OB for the rest of the pregnancy?
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
OMG! Fick! I was wondering how you were. Do not ever say that again... *angry serious face* got it missy??
You have me worried now about your heart! Take it easy okay and rest up!
Good luck for Monday okay!! I will be waiting anxiously for your post.
AFM- Went to work in the end. DH called me and told me we got our electricity bill.. OMG! through the roof and I mean majorly. Being the wet season it is soooo humid and sticky here so the air cons go on, plus it was over christmas when we had the kids so not only did we have ours on at night but also the lounge room on during the day and then the kids air con on at night. Plus there is only one electricity company up here so no competitive pricing. So... ahh hmmm $1100 later for 3 months... I was in tears!!!
Mum called during that moment and i had to tell her, she has offered to pay half and also offered to pay my baby target layby off! OMG! I was so touched but told her thanks for her offer but I will discuss it with DH and let her know.
Just a quick one so no personals until later as I am just about to eat dinner. I am starving today.
Talk to everyone soon!!!!
Gorgeous Photos Naards!!!

Hi ladies
Fick don't ever say that we wouldn't have missed you! I personally had been wondering where you were lately, and was worried that something had happened. Very relieved to hear that all is still going well! Hope your appointment goes well, be sure to keep us updated.
Naards I seriously can't believe you used to leg press that much!! That's incredible! Please don't even think about building back up to that sort of weight whilst you are pregnant. By the way, your pics are soooo cute! I can't wait to have scan pictures that don't just look like a little bean!
Gillie I can only imagine how frustrated and over your DH being away you must be. My heart breaks for how much you must miss him. At the moment I miss my DH when he's gone for the day to work. I think it is the pregnancy hormones. I am so clingy and emotional and lovey-dovey with DH these days. Probably goes back to evolutionary times - girl gets knocked up, girl immediately feels overwhelming love and attachment to her mate, probably in order to encourage the father to want to stay on the scene to support her and the baby. Big hugs hon, it will be over soon and he will be home. Get a big calendar and count down the days and in the meantime just try to keep yourself as busy as possible and hopefully time will fly by :hugs:
Mincazz I also think we are having a boy. I said it to DH about an hour after ET. I patted my tum and said "this one is a boy". We aren't going to find out though. We want it to be a surprise, I want to hear those words "its a boy!" or "its a girl!" We want the nursery to be unisex anyway because it will be used for future babies. This way we will have a neutral nursery and a neutral newborn layette to use again. I want to go for organic/natural colours and textures in the nursery. I can see it in my mind's eye and can't wait to put the whole thing together :yelclap:
AFM today I am nine weeks, and tomorrow we are going on our hospital tour. SO EXCITED!! Its like we're getting down to the business end of pregnancy now, talking about and planning for the actual birth! I'm so used to it just being the airy fairy pee-on-a-stick-and-that-is-the-only-evidence-of-a-baby pregnancy stuff, but we seem to have moved past that now. OMG so scary but exciting :goodvibes: Still scared, but we keep reminding ourselves that bub is getting stronger every day. So with every day that passes, the likelihood of something going wrong is reducing... phew!
Tuesday is our next scan with our FS. Two weeks since our last one, I am so excited! This time bubby should have LIMBS! Might even get to see him MOVE! We get to take a USB stick and record the whole thing!
:smiliedance:
I am baaack!!
I am really addicted these last few days cannot get enough of you BH girls!!
Okay well we had people over for dinner but I am back and ready to do personals...
Mincazz- It is funny how you have that strong feeling about the sex isnt it? I thought from day one that Snoopy is a boy... Although my dad swears black and blue it will be a girl (three daughters for him and a grand daughter) he thinks his family is destined to be full of females!!
Bella- I am really so excited for you! Have fun on your hospital tour and enjoy it. ! Good luck with your scan and I am hoping you get to see your bubba move! We saw bub move first time and it was so amazing.
Gillie- Your get away with your DH sounds awesome and also very well deserved! I am counting down the days with you!! I used to have a ticker countdown on my desktop when DH was away. (He got back 2 weeks before our wedding! Thank god cause the ship broke down as well so he had to fly to be home in time!!) So i am putting a ticker up for you!!
What is everyone doing for the weekend?
Peachy- How was work today? Good to hear you are not feeling as sick!
I NEED a neck/shoulder massage tonight me thinks!

well all week without a vomit.. til today!! haha admitting I did get up and jump around then skull soda water!!!
OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVEN'T TOLD YOU!!!
IF YOU FEEL SICK DRINK SODA WATER WITH A BIT OF DIET CORDIAL! I'M SERIOUSLY FEELING BETTER FROM IT!!!
I think also it's easier to drink so I'm well hydrated!!
Good morning girls!
Peachy, soda water is my favourite at the moment. I have it with the schweppes lime cordial (a tiny tiny bit) and fresh lime... I love love love it!!! Not good to hear about the vomitting but hey at least you lasted a week?? ;)
Bella, that hospital visit will make it feel so real honey... that is very exciting!! We're going on another tour tomorrow too, this is the hospital my OB delivers at.. can't wait to see it! Just don't be like me and have a little freak out in the delivery suite!
Oh and don't worry honey, I'm not planning on doing anywhere near those types of weights, my goal is just to be healthy so I'm doing two PT sessions a week, ensuring my heartrate/blood pressure/body temp don't go up too much... one aqua fitness and I'm going to start pregnancy yoga next week. I think it's a good exercise plan just to stop me from gaining too much weight and so I'm fit enough to chase around after these two when they're born.... he he
It is funny about the feeling you get, coz I have a feeling that there is at least one girl in there but with twins do your instincts go haywire, like a crossed telephone line? he he The little wedding ring with string (my hair aint long enough) thing tells me I'm having a boy and a girl. Interestingly everyone is guessing two boys (after me telling the heartbeats) but does it sound terrible thinking I don't want that?? I know I should be really happy no matter what they are but I think that DH would just love a girl so much.... oh I really should just get over it, I will be happy no matter what they are!! I will be finding out the sexes because I think I've had enough surprises and I want to be as organised as possible! (one thing I am not good at!! he he)
Oh fick of course you've been missed! I think we were all wondering where you were! Glad to hear everything is going well!!
Ok girls I better get my butt into the shower, I'm off to brunch and baby shopping with my bestie.. a girls day, should be great!!!
Have a great day girls! x

Oh ladies, I'm sorry, I didn't mean that to sound like I was whining or that you weren't missing me or something. I'm so sorry, my mind has been a bit all over the place recently. Thank you so much for all your kind words and good thoughts. I hope Monday's appointment goes well. I'm starting to feel somewhat better but will still need to see the cardiologist on Friday. Next weekend, DP and I will be checking into the Radisson Plaza down near Circular Quay for the week of what would've been Cas' birth. We'd previously planned to go away to the Hunter Valley for the week, but it looks as if I'll have to be working for at least a portion of the week. We've booked ourselves a big, luxurious suite on one of the top floors of the hotel and it'll be nice for us to have some alone time.
I hope you're all doing well and that m/s is settling down for you all. Much love and big hugs.

Hi ladies
Kiz - whooooaaaa nelly that's a huge bill! That's crap that you have no other providers for your electricity, its a total rort.
Bella how did you go with the hospital visit today?
Geez kiz DH was cutting it fine to get back for the wedding lolol Soo lucky he could get home in time, can picture him making a mad run down the street to the church trying to change out of his uniform into a tux to get there on time, like in the movies lol.
Oh peachy yay yay yay for no vomie! I luuuurve soda water, always have but am loving it now, I am also on the Diet Coola cordial, its great! Don't know whether its the sweet or the bubbles or the combination but its just the best!
Oh fick you are not whinging, you guys have been through soooo much over the past weeks and months, its understandable that you are just all over the place. Your week away with DP sounds amazing, you both deserve the treat and to spoil yourselves rotten and just remember, in a few months time it will be the 3 of you :hugs:
Cazz yay for no nightmares! Lets hope they stay away hey! Dreams are good, but I don't like bad ones!
AFM took furbaby to the beauty parlour today and she is all clean and lovely and fluffy again! and they tied a little purple bandanna around her neck so she looks like canine zorro lolol. Will have to take a pic and send to DH.
Oh and speaking of DH, seems like the powers that be over there have decided that the RAAF guys don't really need to be home when they are meant to, noo lets overfill the plane and now tell them oh sorry guys you actually aren't leaving on the Wednesday, we are going to hold you back until the Friday - OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!!!!! Which means now he won't be back until the day after...THE DAY AFTER!!!! i am sooo upset and ****ed off, its not his fault, all the guys are affected, one guy has booked his honeymoon to leave that weekend, another guy gets married 2 weeks after and has a whole heap of wedding appointments booked. DH is going to go and speak to them and tell them he has to be home and see what they say, i am sure there will be a few spare seats with and the RAAF taken off, but I don't like his chances. Army takes priority apparently (sorry any Army people) and airforce just get shafted, as usual, even though they have known for months that that's the day they are due to come back and they were always booked on the flight!! I just cried when he told me, the one thing I was looking forward to was having him home on our anniversary, Christmas, new year, birthday, whatever, i could deal with, but our first anniversary? If he isn't here that's just going to push me over the edge i think and I will be a mess. I know its only a day, but that's so not the point. Its the one day i needed him to be here over all others! Anyhoo sorry its a bit sob sob poor me, but I am just gutted at the moment. Ho hum, a day in the life of a defence wife, i had better get used to it
mincazz79
30-01-2010, 18:27
Gillie ,The Furbaby sounds abs pricelss and gorg ,
Oh no thats crap , sorry to hear that:kiss: , You just might have to have two wedding anniversarys , one a really gift because he missed it , and two an abs romantic getaway when he comes home.
Damm Army Peoples........
Oh Gillie.. :hugs: F*&% that really annoys me about defence!! They are supposed to be "family friendly" but they are so far from it.
If I was there, I would take you out for dinner on your anniversary night and then to a movie! Just to get you out! Then when you get home you can have a restless night sleep waiting for him the next day! Then He will be HOME!! YAY! Just think of it as a delayed or extended day as hard as it is done in practice.
ROFL at your scenerio of my DH running down the alter!! Lucky he got married in uniform  would have saved him some time!!
Thinking of you and your crappy news!! ARGH!!

Oh geez furbaby is knackered! She dead to the world on the floor, clearly such a busy day of pampering takes it out of a girl lol
Oh thanks girls, I am being such a whinger but geez I am just so pee'd off over it. Knowing the ADF they will change their minds 100 times before then so I will have probably have no idea what's happening until the day before (they changed his departure date from here about 3 times!!) Honestly, some of these people couldn't organise a r**t in a brothel!!
And kiz you are soo right, the bleet on about being 'family friendly' but that's the biggest load of c*ap I have heard! As I am sure you know and have experienced, apparently the wives/families etc are supposed to have people contact them during deployment just to make sure everything is ok, things are under control etc....umm sorry, have i missed my phone ringing?? I just got the same cookie cutter letter before he left (4 times mind you!) with a bunch of pamplets saying 'here, ring these people if you have any problems'. Um...thanks...I think! Oh well suck it up princess and stop going on about it. I am in a real blaaaahh mood today, think I am just having a bad day (or couple of days lol)!
Thanks for the date offer lololol. we could go to Gold Class and see something funny, if he isn't home I might just do that and save you a cyber seat lol
Good Morning Lovely Ladies!
I forgot to tell you about my eventful morning yesterday (I was just so ticked off about Gillie's news!)
Well I woke up so early Sat morning as I was so HOT! I noticed the fan was off and the air con also had been switched off and the first thing that came to mind is "OMG they have cut our power off early!" But of course that was not the case. Then the second thought was that DH turned it all off to save power. Nope.. that was not the case either.
Apparently we had a huge electrical storm that night and it a lightening bolt struck on the Channel Islands causing the WHOLE of Darwin, Northern Suburbs and also surrounding communities to have no power and in some places no water!! It was out for 7 hours!!! DH and I set up our camping kitchen out the back, played cards and chatted to the neighbours!!
It is amazing how much we rely on things that can be turned on!! As soon as power was restored.. everyone in the street went back into their houses and we never saw them again the whole afternoon.
Bleh... off to do Grocery shopping now..
gilliebean1
31-01-2010, 12:18
OMG Kiz that's awful! It must have been sooooooo hot and horrible! You really do take for granted the joy that electricity brings you lolol. We had a blackout once and it was only for a short time, I didn't know what to do with ourselves lolol. Thank god you had your little camping kitchen as a fallback. Mind you though, it kind of makes you stop and relax for a while too, but 7 hours is a bit much lol
Mmm grocery shopping, I loooove doing the groceries!

Hey chicks!
Gillie - What a P!ss off. I really feel for you girl. Friends of ours had DH go away 3 months before their first bub was born and then he had another 3 months stay. I could not cope. DH is ex-military. Thankful for the career change he decided on a few years ago! I can't live without him.
Kiz - Glad to hear your power is back on! The weather here is much much cooler than up there but I still can't live without the fans and air-con...specially the last two weeks. Funny about your neighbours and everyone disappearing! Our street is funny like that too.
Fick - Glad to hear that you are both doing well. Good luck on reducing the fags. I did about 5 years ago and it was a big plus for everyone concerned - me, DH, future bubbas. Have a nice time with your DP on your rememberance getaway. You guys deserve it!
Naards - I'm trying to do the same as you, just not gain too much weight and get fit ready for the arrival! It's not bad to feel like you might be disappointed....but know that you will love them just the same. Sometimes it just takes a little to get over the shock of something we don't expect. Like, we would love a boy and will actually be shocked if it is a girl but will still love her with all our hearts - of course!
Peachy & Kazz - No dizziness here to report but I'm pretty sure that it's common and normal!
AFM - DH and I went to our first baby shop together. Have picked out just about everything. Deciding to go with the travel system for the strider plus and also get a 3 wheeler for me (I like walking fast) when exercising. The strider is massive but will do us for 2 kiddies.
Sold most of the stuff out of the room where the nursery now is going so after our 10w5d scan next monday, we'll start ordering! Yay!
So exciting.
Any ideas on dinner? We are both stuck and don't know what we feel like. Looking for inspiration. I am loving rice at the moment.
New taste sensation - salt and vinegar delites. OMG YUM! Anything salty at the mo is going down a treat!
Have a good Sunday...So you think you can dance and Biggest Loser start tonight! OH YEAH - bring back the reality TV. Sad I know - but true.
CG x
Chicken- I LUUURVE those salt and vinegar delites!!! Yummo!!!
We are having Honey chicken stirfry with lots of veges and rice tonight!!! YAY!!!
Gillie- Yes make sure you save me that "cyber seat" just let me know what movie we saw and if we liked it!

No ideas on dinner here CG, I have been hooked on cooking my homemade springrolls over the last couple of weeks and was going to do so again tonight, but KFC have bought back the Tower Burger...it won lol How exciting on deciding on your bubs stuff! Its soo cool when you can start shopping and choosing what you want, makes it feel so real. Can't get into SYTYCD but BL I love!
Oh I love the cheese delites, with tatziki or salsa or roasted capsicum dip....yuummmooo
Oh yum Kiz, hold on i will just jump in the car and join you for dinner :laughing: I luurve honey chicken! Will def let you know what I see lol. Just spoke to DH and he is trying to sort out getting home the day he was supposed to, his WO has emailed their big boss asking them to ensure DH is on the flight on the 10th as its his first wedding anniversary "and life won't be worth living if he isn't home" lol. Not sure whether he was being sarcastic or not coz his WO is a total ****** but I don't care, whatever works, I don't mind taking the blame and am happy to play psycho wife for a few weeks lolol Their boss is the one to decide who gets the few seats on the Wednesday so :fingerscrossed: DH will be one of them! Not getting my hopes up, but I know DH is doing everything he can so we will see!
Well I went to the bubs shop today and have put all the big $ items on layby! We decided on the Tasman Eco cot, change table and drawers, the Baby Jogger Citi Mini pram (its soo compact and easy to fold and unfold, but you don't compromise on size when its being used, and the Meridian AHR carseat (still 50/50 on that choice). They price matched my other quotes too which was great, and gave me some really good discounts on the furniture so we were really happy and its a good start. She let me bring the change table mat and mattress protector home so I had a few things to play with :yelclap: and also gave me a spare change mat cover for free because she forgot to discount one of my items (by $11!!! I wasn't bothered) so I am stoked and will def go back there when we are ready to buy some more.
So its all starting to feel a bit more real now, am officially 12 weeks today so can't wait until my scan on Tuesday to see Bert again, I think I will just cry from relief if everything is ok! Then I can shout from the rooftops I AM PREGNANT!!!!!! (not just a moody ***** lolol)

Hey guys, just a quick one as I'm on a break from watching a DVD with DH (I just can't sit still through a whole DVD these days, I get squirmy and need a break!).
We had our hospital tour yesterday and I LOVED it! We're going with Sunnybank Private Hospital. Its a small hospital in the neighbourhood where I grew up (and it opened the year I was born I discovered yesterday! LOL! a A good omen or what!)
Its close to mum and dad, and to DH's work, and has a very very good name in maternity. The rooms are all singles, hubbies can stay overnight, and there is a fully stocked kitchenette that we can access any time of day or night if we feel like toast, a sandwich (they get the kitchen to deliver a platter of sandwiches to the kitchenette every evening so if you get peckish in the night you can help yourself) tea, cordial etc. This really impressed me as the thing I hate most about hospitals is the structured eating and having to rely on family to bring you in snacks/drinks to tide you over between the official meals if you get hungry or thirsty. Huge tick for making mums comfortable and feel at home!
The delivery suites weren't scary after all, they looked like normal rooms, with soft lighting, spa baths, all the scary equipment neatly hidden behind cabinetry, couches and armchairs etc. I was impressed and could see myself giving birth there!
The rooms were really nice with changing tables, mini fridges, armchairs etc. Some open onto a private courtyard. There is also a communal sitting room and courtyard/patio area where you can go out with bub if you feel like a break from your room. They also encourage you to put bub in the nursery for the first night (you don't have to of course) so you can have a good night's sleep to recover from the birth. That sounds pretty smart to me. The midwife ratio is 1:5 which sounds more than adequate.
I got a bit emotional because there were babies everywhere as they were at full capacity. She said that is uncommon and surprising. Me and DH both thought the same thing at the same time: there should have been one more. We had booked that hospital for first bub who was due last week. In a parallel universe, if we hadn't miscarried, there is a good chance we'd have been there that day anyway but as new parents not visitors on the tour :( Sad to think..
We have our next scan on Tuesday, 9.5 weeks. I know it is still early days, but I am starting to think this bubba might actually make it... I think I am finally starting to let myself get excited :goodvibes:
A friend of mine announced her pregnancy on facebook last night. For the first time ever I don't feel gutted at this news, instead I just can't wait to announce mine as well! Such a new feeling!!

LOL so much for my short post! I guess I got too excited by the hospital and also DH hasn't hollered for me to come back to watch the rest of the DVD yet so I just sat here and kept typing, lol.
Dinner, hmm, honey chicken sounds sooooo good, I have everything for that! Actually I think we will go with satay chicken with coconut rice, nice and saucy. I love rice dishes too! (can you tell I have already defrosted some chicken? LOL) My favourite take-away at the moment is Hell Pizza. OMG that stuff is amazing. They just opened an outlet down the road from us, so one mins drive! This is just too dangerous! I would eat it every day if I could get away with it

Oh bella awesome news! That hospital sounds great, sounds like a hotel lol. It must have been so hard for you knowing that you could have been there for other reasons, but just know that THIS IS your time, and there are so many positive and happy days ahead for you and DH and you WILL be back there in about 6 months and will be holding your precious little bundle.
You have every reason to be excited, this little one is going to make it!

Thanks for the suggestions!
We ended up deciding on Thai Takeaway cause we were so not bothered to cook. We got red beef curry, stir fried veg and a plan rice and a coconut rice. YUMMO!!!
So full now. I get fuller so much more quickly! But hungry quickly too
Bella - That is so great about the hospital visit. But a little sad too like you say. You have this bubba to look forward to!
Gillie - Fingers crossed with the flights for DH. I hope he gets home. I never mind playing the crazy wife sometimes too! :hair: Happy 12 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!
Kiz - Yum yum honey chicken!!
AFM - not looking forward to work tomorrow.....boo hoo....
CG
Gillie- YAY for the possibility of DH arriving when he is supposed too!! I will be thinking sooooo positively for you!!
CG- Yum Thai sounds yummy too!! Great news on your purchases today! I cannot wait to pay off my layby so I can start setting the room up. We have the dilemma of... move the computer out of the little "study" room and squeeze the guest room into there and put bubs in the guest room. Either that or sell the spare bed etc and sell the kids beds and buy a bunk bed with a double underneath for guests??? Confusing..
Good Luck with work tomorrow!!
Bella- I am so glad your hospital tour was more than you expected. I agree with what Gillie said about this bub you will meet in 6 or so months!!
Okay... I am going to go on a bit of a rant here and I feel like such a bad bad person.. but before I do DH and I have discussed the future and we have decided to get out of the ADF. It is not allowing us to "get ahead" and he has been in the defence for 13 years now! So we are putting our "feelers" out there.
Here is the rant..
My friend who has not been much of a friend and never asks how I am and I am the one constantly chasing her. Anyhow we had a misunderstanding just before I started my cycle and I have not heard from her since. I have heard that she has split up with her husband since then. Another friend of mine accidentally mentioned I was expecting in August and I got a text from the detached friend saying, "Just wanted to let you I am due the same time as you and it is twins!"
Don't get me wrong I am happy for her, but I am not excited for her. I feel like an awful person.

CG Thai big thumbs up (and for the no cooking too lol). I find that I fill up so easily too, can't eat like I used to lolol I guess other things are taking up room in there now, which is a good thing :)
Wow Kiz that's going to be a huge move for you and DH. What does he think he wants to do? Things are changing so much for you now that it probably is a good time to re-evaluate things and where you want to be. Ohhh good luck, it must be so daunting!
That's very strange to suddenly hear from her when you have heard nothing for so long. How did you take the message, was it a kind of getting one up on you message, or a reaching out to reconnect kind of message? Did you reply? Don't feel bad for not jumping for joy for her, it would be particularly hard when you have a misunderstanding and haven't spoken!! You would have every right to feel that way.
Geez clearly I don't have a life tonight, just sitting on the computer!!
I am sitting in the computer all night too tonight Gillie!! Clearly we just need cyber space to get lost in! DH is watching king of the hill and my furbaby is giving me cuddles on my lap!
It is a huge move but I feel good that it is for a positive reason. DH was up for promotion and did not get it as the job is in it all over is "flush" so no one can go up! Frustrating!! That was a huge motivator to start looking. He spent all day on his laptop doing his resume and cover letters and getting everything looking profess. He is excited and I think a little nervous too but we are in it together! Like I said, he may not get anything for a long time but at least we have taken a step.
I don't know how she was supposed to have meant the message as it is hard to decipher tone in texts!! But I wrote back, "Congratulations" It is hard because I don't know what to say. As the falling out happened as I brought something to her attention and she misunderstood my intention and accused me of accusing her of things and ahhh in the end I just said, "I am starting something in my life right now (cycle) that does not need any extra stress. What I said was not meant the way you took it and I was just trying to be a friend" Then we hadn't spoke. Like I said, I am scared of saying anything to her as it may be "the wrong thing" if that makes sense!

Same! I am sitting here on the floor on the pooter and watching House and furbaby is asleep on the lounge behind me, head on the cushion! Hmm alright for some! Oh crap and have just remembered I am yet to make my bed too, bugger!
Well you have the best attitude towards it and are doing it for the right reasons which means it will be a great move! I hope he finds something pretty quickly, but at least he will have a good job until he finds the right position to go to. All the very very best of luck!
Yeah that makes perfect sense, and what do you say when you have had no contact, how do you say the 'right thing'? I am sure your intentions were good and unfortunately these things can happen. Maybe this will bring you back together and you can sort everything out if you still want her friendship...
I have just had a similar thing happen with a dear friend, I said something to her (not at all nasty) after she bombarded me with multiple emails and text messages over the days I was home sick with the flu (a common thing when I don't reply to an email at work within 5 mins!)- long story and I won't bore you with the details, but now I don't know how to talk to her again because she completely lost it and couldn't understand that I had a reason to say what I said. Anyhoo I am just going to bite the bullet tomorrow and send her an email and try and open the lines of communication, see what happens, and if she still has the s&its then so be it.
OH well I am going to stop boring you all with my rantings, fluffy and I are going to bed! Night all, see you tomorrow!

DP and I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies. Sadly, we're out of the race now. Scan showed no heartbeat and bubs stopped growing at 8 weeks.
All the best to you all. May you have smooth and hassle free pregnancies, resulting in beautiful, healthy babies. Blessings to you all.

hi girls, do any of you feel pulling type feelings in your uterus?? last few days I've had it. wouldn't call them cramps just niggles... maybe it's just stretching!
Fick – :hugs: I am so so sorry hun. Please take care of each other. Huge hugs for you and DP :hugs:.
Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA for a while, been quite busy for the past week or so, but hey, that is no excuse, lol! I have been feeling pretty good and I am happy to say that I am 14w5d today! I have actually popped in the last few days and I have a nice little round baby bump, lol! I will have to post a photo and share with you girls! At the moment I am taking a photo every two weeks of my bump and when I get a bit further along I will take one every week. I like to compare and actually see the bump growing, yes I am totally in love !
Peachy – I have had the pulling sensations too, strange feeling huh!
I will do some more personals but first I have to go back and read thru properly, lol!
Hi Girls!
Cazz, I'm sorry to hear about your bleed. Glad to hear everything is OK though, take care of yourself! :hugs:
Peachy, yep I get those pains too.. have been having them from the beginning they're weird! I must admit though they have gotten alot worse the last few days and yep Musk I have exploded! All of a sudden nothing fits well, have had to move up a pants size and just feel uncomfortable. So I think there is definately a correlation there!
Plus my MS has come back with a vengence too! Just when I thought it had gone away it rears it's ugly head again. My theory is that the first lot of MS was from twin A and this lot is from twin B :p. Argh no fun though!
Kyster, fantastic news about you NT results! It is a relief huh?! And wow I didn't think they could tell what the baby was that early... might have to get my OB to try do a sneaky when I'm there on the 18th :D
Fick, still thinking of you honey... I hope you are doing OK. :hugs:
Have a lovely day ladies! x

I've always had a bad neck and I'm sure that has something to do with it.. and maybe I'm sleeping too long at night.. last night I went to bed at 9 woke up at 6 had a chuck and breakfast and shower then fell back to sleep til 10.. dunno someone make me feel better :'( stop me worrying!

Don't know if it helps gals .... But I am pretty sure being ill and exhausted is all just a part of it , as long as we can sleep , drink , toilet and eat we are doing ok,
i accidently ate shellfish oyster sauce and had an allergic reaction hence the gastro effects.
Its my bday 31 today!! YAY!!
dont feel very yay , and yep peachey i totally get it , its my 2nd week in a row off work!!
peachy, I went to my GP about my tension headaches and she told me it was due to the build up of excess mucous you get in your sinuses when pregnant. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I just take some panadol every now and then if the pain gets too bad. And yes Cazz is right, being sick is just a symptom of pregnancy... it's the excess hormones that cause it unfortunately. Some people get it and some people don't (lucky ones!).
Cazz, happybirthday I hope you have a wonderful day! x

Hi girls!
Naards - sorry to hear your MS has come back, naughty Twin B lol. Hope it buggers off again as quickly as it came back!
Happy Birthday Cazz - hope you have a wonderful day :smiliedance: Sorry to hear about your bleed, glad that bubs was very active, it must have been such a scare for you!
I hope all of you ladies with ms start to feel better soon - its not very nice and takes away from the excitement of it all when you are constantly with your head in the toilet bowl!!! Booooo MS!!
Kyster great results! Yay for 2nd trimester I say!
Peachy sounds like you are having a rough old time of it you poor thing. I think if you are sleeping that much then your body needs it, so don't fight it. Headaches are crap, but maybe it is your neck or something has been bumped out of place - can you see a physio or massage person to give you some treatment?
AFM Bertie and I had our NT scan today - everything is aok! 1:5052 for Downs and even lower for the other 2 Trisomy's so we are thrilled. He was pretty lazy at first (just like me!) and needed a poke and a prod and a shake around to get moving, but once he got going he was a total show off (like his dad lol), arching his back and kicking his legs around. Got heaps of piccies of him so i will post some tonight, and I got them to DVD the scan so i can send it to DH so at least he can see it! I will pop it in with his valentines day card and not tell him so it will be a bit of a surprise! He is about 6cm and heart was 163bpm so all looking good so far! Am soo relieved, have spoken to DH so he is on the case of telling his side of the fam!

Hi ladies,
Well I have just worked out that I can log onto bub hub from work, uhohhh! But now I am worried that I will be logging on all the time and get into trouble as I am pretty sure my employer monitors our internet usage... Better stick to bubhubbing from home except in cases of emergency!
I just came on to share my fears. We have our 9.5 weeks scan this afternoon. Really worried. I mean, I still feel pregnant, but what does that really mean? After Fick's bad news yesterday I am just really worried that it could happen to us too. I am slowly training myself not to check my knickers every hour or so for blood, its so hard to keep calm when pregnancy causes so much extra fluid 'down there' anyway, and sometimes my knickers feel damp just from perspiration! And I panic and have to go check... So anyway, I am slowly training myself not to blood-check, but I do still panic when I get niggles and twinges. When they stop I am relieved and glad because it means uterus must be growing, but when they start I don't have any idea if they are going to stop or if they are going to intensify into a huge cramp. So for a few moments my blood runs cold while I wait to see which way its going to go.
The other thing I seem to be suffering from (other than acute miscarriage anxiety) is pelvic girdle pain. It sort of crept up on me so slowly that I almost didn't notice it. It started with a sore hip when rolling over in bed, but I just assumed I had pulled a muscle. That hip pain has never gone away. Then I started to notice that when bending over or lifting one leg I had pain right on my public bone. Then last week after I started school I came home and lay down for a nap, when I woke up and tried to get up, I couldn't stand up or walk. I couldn't put any weight on my pelvis as my hip and pelvis felt like they had been dislocated. Eventually after a few minutes of slowly trying to stand I was able to stand up and very very slowly, shuffling and wincing, was able to walk. This has since then happened every day since I started back at school. Its worst after a day of work, but not too bad at all on weekends. The only thing that seems to help with the hip pain in bed is sleeping with a pillow between my legs. This seems to even up my hip joints or something and I usually wake up painfree. Has anyone else experienced this pelvic girdle pain? I thought I was lucky because I didn't have morning sickness, but I reckon this is worse because apparently its only going to get more painful as bubs gets bigger and may take months to go away after the birth! It also may cause problems in birth as my pelvis likely isn't properly aligned!! argh!
Okay well I'm leaving in half an hour for my scan so I'd better pretend to do some work. I am a teacher and I'm on non-contact time which is the only reason why I am not on class right now and can be on bub-hub!
Sorry for the me-me-me post but I'm so freaked out by the scan and in pain from this pelvic horribilis that I can hardly think straight as it is!
P.S. Gillie so glad to see your nuchal scan went well! You must be so relieved! Yay for sending the DVD to DH, he is going to be so thrilled, would love to see his face while he's watching it :cloud9:
Gillie, fantastic news about your scan! That's a great result, you must be so relieved! And I bet it was awesome seeing Bertie again... can't wait to see the photos!
Bella, oh my god I'm so glad you said that. I actually thought I had pulled a muscle! I have had that pain for a good 7 or 8 weeks! And it makes total sense because I was seeing an osteopath about my pelvis and general alignment before I fell pregnant but since then has just deteriorated badly... hmmm me thinks it's off to the osteo again! And yep I sleep with a body pillow already otherwise I wake up in pain.
I'm so sorry that you have that fear still... it can be so all consuming!!! And I do know what you mean about the extra mucous, it does your head in! And I haven't even had a scare like you. Take care of yourself sweetie and I hope the scan this afternoon allays your fears. :hugs:

Just a quickie: scan went great! :yelclap: Bubba was measuring spot on for dates, and we could see little arms and legs! We took our USB in to record it, but when we got home it was blank :crying: soooo disappointed! FS obviously needed to do something other than just plug it in to make it record! Sigh, I guess I can forgive him though for being a techno-bimbo, seeing as he DID help us get this little bubba in the first place :o
Nuchal scan is in 3 weeks so hopefully we'll get lots of pics and a DVD from that for me to eagerly re-watch over and over afterward :cloud9:. Okay, I'm off to scavenge up some dinner!

oh I'm so happy bella!! that's fantastic news! xxx
Just a quick message tonight I am pooped! Had such an awful day at work!
We had a staff member unofficially resign yesterday (did not hand in written notice) so Mgr told her to bring in her key, card and written resignation to her shift tomorrow. (Today) so when 11 came and she was 5 min late, I called her quickly to ask if everything was ok etc.. No answer so I left a message. 11.30 and I started to call another girl in and the only person could come in but at 2.30pm!!! I figured that was good enough so here I am busting and STARVING until 2.30pm!! In the meantime the staff member's partner called in to let me know she was in hospital. Anyhow, my mgr is flying to WA today for a work road show and she called from the airport to tell me that the staff member is catching the same plane!!!
I was so so so angry!
Anyway...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINCAZZ!!!! happybirthday

HI ladies
My gosh what a day, warning, rant ahead! Before that though, just uploaded some of our 12wk scan pics if anyone wants a look
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/album.php?albumid=1804
Don't know if that will work or not!
Good on you girls for napping lol. I desperately needed one today. I am soo tired but having a late dinner purely to satisfy a craving which means I will not be in bed for a while - damn it!!!!
Well the news is out now so everyone knows Bert is on his way! All very excited and its such a relief to have the news out there, it starts to feel a bit more real, does everyone else feel that? Anyhoo I have made by spring rolls..again..tonight and this time only managed 2 out of the 7 I cooked..I just can't manage this cooking for one lol.
Ok so on to my rant, we have a new girl at work, she has been here for 3 months, she is quite nice but due to many work related factors which I won't bore you with (including *****ing to my boss that she wanted more work to do, even though she was still learning, having only been there for a few weeks, when everything I gave her to do she stuffed up!!), I haven't really warmed to her. Anyhoo she is getting married tomorrow, and I found out today that everyone in our group is invited, and going....except me!!! Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go anyway and I am not bothered by a non invite, but honestly, who does that? Who the F invites everyone in a rather small group, except 1?? Before she went on leave (for a month!) we were getting on quite well, and I tried to put my issues behind me and just concentrate on my work but this has really ****ed me off! So from hereon in I am done with her, I will be professional on a work front if I absolutely have to be, but I will have nothing to do with her. And who invites their workmates to your wedding when you have only been there 3 months and aren't even through probation?????????
Anyhoo that's my rant. I am ****ed off, and can't go on maternity leave quick enough! They can all go and get f'd!!
Gillie- Your photos are so cute! Bert looks beautiful! I cannot believe that girl at work invited people to her wedding she has only known for 3 months!! WTF?? She seems very eager to get in the "good" books at work and boost her popularity.
It is such a good feeling telling people isn't it?
Peachy- Please get better soon!! You have had a rough time!
Musk- How is everything ?
Cazz - Wish I had a nap!! lol..
Bella- Did you make it through your day?
Naards- I had to laugh when I pictured twin A saying to Twin B "Go on.. I made her sick.. it is your turn!!"
AFM- I am okay! Nothing really to report. Snoopy has been giving me tugging pains and uncomfortable twinges. Not sleeping very well but that is normal since I got my BFP.
My Dr finally called me today and told me he will allow me to get the blood test for the NT scan I had the week prior. WTF? So I picked up the form straight away and got the bloods done. I don't understand ?! Why did he wait when I asked him right there last week for a form? Well I am never going back to him.
DH has decided to definately discharge this year. Huuuuuge step...

Hi guys,
Napping, hmm, I wish. No I am a teacher so no naps for me :( I had a hugely busy day with playground duty for the entire of lunchtime (so no break all day) and two meetings after work. I was so tired and because the meetings were both on opposite ends of our very large school, I was barely able to walk (from my pelvic girdle pain) back to my car at the end of it. I've been in bed since I've been home.
Gillie, your photos of Bert are amazing! It must be just amazing now that everyone knows! I can't wait until we can announce jellybaby!
Actually, speaking of jellybaby. I am getting really worried... On Tuesday we had our scan, all was great, hooray etc. Dr told me I could stop taking the pessaries, which was a bit scary but okay.. On Wednesday I didn't have any sore boob pains (I normally get stabbing pains off and on throughout the day) and no uterus twinges. Started to panic, so made an GP appointment right after school to get a blood test referral to check my progesterone levels, and then raced around to find a blood collection centre before they all shut for the day.
Got results back today (9 weeks, 6 days) and it was progesterone 310 (yay!) and hCG 42,000. Huh? Is that right? Seems lower than I'd have expected? I also have had another day of no boob twinges and no uterus twinges. I am really worried :( I have basically felt pretty much nothing since the scan.... Am I being paranoid or should I see if I can get another scan somewhere? My nuchal isn't booked for another 2.5 weeks, and my FS has handed me over to my OB so I don't feel like I can just rock up at this office and beg for a reassurance scan anymore. Can't just rock up at OB as he is appointments only, and we have an appointment with him next Monday afternoon so no point trying to see him before then as well. Not even sure if he has an ultrasound machine in his rooms...
Can't believe I am saying this, but this whole pregnancy thing is sooo much more stressful than IVF ever was....
peachykeen
05-02-2010, 07:25
just really really quickly my boobs stopped hurting all together at about 9 weeks bella and I also had a symptom free week! depending on the growth of your placenta it maybe your body adjusting xxx don't panic until you need to my love xxx
Bella, yes mine did the same around 9-10 weeks but boy did it come back again!! I did get a little panicked but had read somewhere that that does happen and not to worry. I know it's hard not too but try not to stress honey... What was your last HCG (the one before this one)? Has it gone down dramatically?
Oh and I agree wholeheartedly... and IVF pregnancy is so much harder than the IVF itself! I only started relaxing a little after the 12 week scan... and I only mean a little!!
Gillie, absolutely gorgeous pics!!! Is Bertie sucking his thumb? So cute!
AFM, I'm so bloody tired! I thought getting back to exercise would help but it's making it worse at the moment. It will just take a few weeks to get into the swing of things... plus I was awake for some of last night with the worst cramps! Got me a little worried but all good now.
Happy Friday girls!!! I'm starting the day off with relaxing acupuncture and then hopefully a fairly short day... yeah right!
Have a good one girls! x

Thanks for the reassurances Naards and Peachy :hugs:
I am feeling a bit better this morning for a couple of reasons. 1) I just had a boob pain (YAY!!!) and 2) I dreamed about my baby last night and OMG I am in love. It was a girl, which surprised us because we think we're having a boy (and we're not planning to find out the sex either). The dream covered the birth - which started out painful and then was all over so fast when bub slithered out and then the pain was forgotten, and then it covered the rest of the day with bub. She was sooooo beautiful! Such big trusting eyes. My heart was aching with love for this little person. DH and I kept taking turns to pick her up and hold her close and whisper into her ear and run our fingers over her little face and around her little hands in absolute wonderment at how perfect she was and how much we loved her. Everytime I left the room (hospital room I guess) I'd come back and she'd be curled on DH's chest sleeping and I'd go "my turn!" and DH would go "no she is asleep!" and I'd say "oh you're hogging her!" and then I'd sit down beside him and gaze at her too. It was such a real dream. Even in the dream I was crying with amazement and love for this baby and thinking that I couldn't believe I was finally a mummy. It was so real, it was exactly how I WILL feel when I finally am a mummy for real. I woke up and realised it was a dream and just cried. DH woke up because I was apparently whimpering. I said "five minutes ago I was the happiest woman in the world holding my baby, and now I wake up and its a dream. I want her back! I miss her so much!" and DH was hugging me and patting my tummy and saying you do have her, she is in here. Awww...
So it was a lovely dream and maybe my body's way of saying don't stress, all is still well, you are still a mummy-in-the-making :goodvibes:
Have a great day ladies
Special hugs to Fick and her DP if you are still reading this as I think you said DP's D&C is today. Enjoy your week away from the world next week ladies, take your time grieving, take care of each other and cherish your memories of Cas and this baby. Don't give up hope, you will become mummies one day... :hugs:
Gillie – Oh Bert is so cute! It feels great to start telling people about our little bubbas ! Try not to worry about this chick at work, sounds like she’s a cow anyway, lol! She probably only invited the others to make her look more ‘popular’!
Kiz – I’m going really well, thanks for asking. Yay for getting your bloods done earlier, that dr sounds like an a$$, lol!
Peachy – How are you feeling, have your headaches gone away?
Naards – How are those twinnies treating you? I hope they are being nice to their mummy!
Bella – Your dream sounds so real, but DH is right you still have your baby. Maybe it’s bubs way of telling you he/she is ok.
Cazz – How are you going?
Hello to everyone I have missed, this baby brain is not treating me very well lately !
AFM – Plodding along still, everything is going well. I am 15w1d today :)! Does anyone else feel like the time is going really quickly but at the same time it feels so slow IYKWIM?

Hi ladies
Bella - I don't have much boobie pain at all anymore, apart from the odd sharp pain or tingling which doesn't last very long, my nipples haven't even changed that much. Sometimes I get pains in my abdomen, sometimes I don't. I think its fine if you don't, I think after a while your body kind of evens out a bit and gets used to things, until the next surge of growing or hormones or whatever. It is very stressful, but try not to worry. I think your dream is just divine! Make sure you remember that, or keep a copy of your post so that when he or she does come, you can reflect and see how real it was.
I agree too that the pregnancy is much more stressful than the actual cycling itself! Even after 12 weeks, the stress may have subsided slightly, but really not much! People take for granted how much of a blessing it is to have a baby, we certainly don't!!
Yes big hugs to Fick and DP if you are reading this, we are all thinking of you and send you the biggest :hugs: in the world.
Naard not sure if he was sucking his thumb or picking his nose lolol. He wasn't very impressed with having to wriggle around so maybe he was giving us the bird  You are very game getting into the exercise again, hope it doesn't take too long to get your energy back. Enjoy your acu! Now we don't want any sibling rivalry going on in there thanks twinnies, behave yourselves!!
Oh Kiz she most definitely is! She can be a 'popular' as she wants, but she can't do the simplest of tasks!!! Oh well not my problem, I am not going to be the one with unhappy clients, my boss can deal with the fallout!! I just hate being here at the moment, I am just so over it, its been 2 years and I desperately need to move on! These next 5 months are going to go sooo slow! Wow huge step for DH...2010 is going to be a year of new beginnings for you both, and that's very exciting!
Hi Peachy, hope you are feeling ok.

:iagree:Musk, it is going soooo slow! Each week drags by! I was saying to my SIL the other night (the nice one lol) that i can't wait to get fat and actually look pregnant! She said oh you will regret saying that one day lol. Nah i'm good thanks, I will take it!

Oh ps ladies did anyone see Sunrise this morning (I assume NSW people only, does it go interstate??). They have the PM on every Friday to take questions from the public about a wide range of issues, unscripted and he is not briefed (hence the reason he has only answered 1 question out of 4 actually on the tele - the others have been "oh I will have to come back to that next week!).
Anyhoo...the first question this morning was from a lady in Melbourne asking about IVF and why the OOP's have increased so dramatically! She was speaking specifically about needing donor eggs (and said oh other people are only OOP about an extra $1k...sorry, only???????), hers had gone up from about $1k to $7,500!?!?!?!?! Naturally, he couldn't answer it, and came back with a "I will consult my office and come back to you next week" but still, the concern is officially in the public domain! I must try and remember to watch it next week to see what his response is! It is also reported on one of the news sites.
Lets see what he has to say about the issue!!!!!
Gillie – I agree, I want to get past the ‘is she podgy or is she pregnant’ phase, lol! If I poke my tummy out it looks very pregnant but I can’t hold it like that for long ! Hmmm I’d like to hear cruddy ruddy’s answers on the OOP issues, I bet he won’t give a straight answer!
Cazz – How funny are DH’s when they come up with names? I just look at DH and think OMG, where did that come from, lol!
Kyster – Sorry to hear that DH will be away for 5 months, it must be hard with him away. We will do our best to keep you company .
Hope everyone has a nice relaxing weekend, well tries to anyway !

Hi Ladies,
Sorry for being largely absent.
Bella - my breast soreness comes and go and some days I feel they look less bloated than others. It's all very normal! I'm glad everything is going so well for you.
Gilliebean - I agree that we who have gone through the infertility and ivf trenches can never be relaxed about the whole pregnancy thing as others who got pregnant within the first 12 months of trying without too much fuss. I also feel we have so much to look forward to and remember how terrible it was with all the failed ivf cycles. I remember feeling incredibly down at times.
Ladies - Have great weekends. Enjoy being on :cloud9:.

Oh ladies, sorry this is going to be a bit of a me post... but I just can't get my fears to go away :crying:
As I'd said previously, I have had a big reduction in symptoms since Tuesday when I had my scan and went off the pessaries. I've had the occasional boobie twinge/pain since then, but not really any uterus twinges that I have noticed (and trust me - I've been paying close attention). This morning I woke up with the sun and that sinking dread feeling as I realised that I didn't get up to wee in the night again. And I had a HUGE (750mL) glass of ginger cordial before bed because I was really thirsty (and a small chicken sandwich because I was really hungry!). I would have expected to have been up for a wee within almost an hour after a huge drink like that, but no, I woke up at 7:30am, looked at the sun streaming through the windows, and thought "oh no..." I then went to the loo and did a HUGE wee. I really didn't think my bladder could even hold that much liquid anymore.
My question is, does anyone know when the frequent urination stops? I assume its when the uterus pops up out of the pelvis and stops putting so much pressure on the bladder, but at 10 weeks? Seems very soon? The only thing that is easing my mind a little is if something terrible had happened and the baby had died, then surely the frequent urination would still continue until miscarriage or D&C happened and the uterus was small again? After all, alive or dead, the baby is still in there so they uterus is still large and should be still pressing on the bladder either way, so maybe frequent urination isn't really an indication of whether bub is okay or not?
Naards, to answer your question about my HCG being only 42,000 at 10 weeks and what was it last time, the last blood test I had was at 6 weeks and it was 15,000 then. So I can only assume it has increased in that time, and then started to decrease again? The baby was alive and well at the scan 24 hours before the blood test, so surely I shouldn't read much into the HCG levels alone as they can't have changed all that much in only 24 hours?
Oh gawd, does the worrying ever stop? I just want this baby so badly, I am just terrified something will go wrong and I just can't stop over-analysing every symptom (or lack of). It has gone so wrong every other time, its almost hard to get my head around the idea that this time everything might be okay...

Bella darl....you have to stop doing this to yourself! I can totally sympathise (and it is hard to prectice what I am preaching) but you are torturing yourself girl.
I can tell you that the pessaries will have caused any number of symptoms to be magnified such as breast tenderness and the cramping. I know this because I was on them for the first few weeks only cause I had some left over from my last IVF cycle. Once I stopped them the cramping eased a bit and my boobies settled a bit. But I was still pregnant!
I really haven't had night time urination much at all, and I am concerned about my scan on monday cause I haven't had one for 4 weeks but my urination during the day is like ALL THE TIME, night time, I just sleep and do a big one in the morning. You cannot make a judgement based on one night.
I am being a bit abrubt with you cause I am concerned for your sanity!!
I am on anti-depressants and was worried about being on them during preg but both my Psych and OB said that the risk to the baby from the meds is waaaaaay less then my mind going bonkers and worrying and stressing is the stuff that I do best!
My husband (so wise - I love you DH!) says to me:
"If it is something you CAN control, then why worry about it, cause you can control it"
"If it is something you CAN'T control, then why worry about it, cause you can't control it"
I totally get your fears (only cause I am having the same ones) but have not been through what you have.
Take it easy chicky......

Further to my last post - anyone who is on anti-depressants should ALWAYS discuss this with their doctor if planning to become or finding themselves pregnant!
All meds are different and I didn't want anyone to read that and apply it to their circumstances.
By the way....I'm into the 20's in weeks to go! YAY!!!

CG, thankyou! And I think the abruptness is exactly what I need. I am concerned for my OWN sanity, trust me! I have always had problems with anxiety and depression too, but I was worried about taking medication while on IVF so I was taking St John's Wort (herbal anxiety pills) and they were working really great for me. But I was told by my FS to absolutely NOT take them in pregnancy so of course I am off them and I am really struggling to control my own anxiety when it rears up. DH is at work today as well, so I have no one to talk me through my fears and point out how silly I am being. I am desperate for some reassurance, and you have given me some. You're right, the pessaries probably made a huge difference, and I AM still weeing very frequently throughout the day, so I need to try to relax and ignore my little irrational moments and your DH is so right, if I can't control it, there is no point worrying about it. I will have to try to make that my mantra. I think also the reason I am feeling extra anxious today is because I had that lovely baby dream on Thursday night and now I feel like I have met this baby and bonded with it.... I am more smitten and in love than ever, like I've been given a window into the future and realised that it is everything I ever imagined and more...

oh bella , babe  try and relax ( i know I know) if its anything to you i often drink alot before bed and barely ever wake up , you would be amazed how tired people can sleep thorugh a full bladder!!
I share your fears babe , but if bubs was ok 24 hours before the blood test that seems good , hcg levels can double over two or three days . mine was more like three. I am not sure when they drop , but its diffrent for everyone. If you can contact your obgyn and tell him your fears.:)
I completly understand when it comes to past MC , the fears grow inside you . I said to my dh today I wont see bubba after wed until like 20 weeks , he said babe you just have to learn to trust and breathe it will all be ok,YOu know what I think he is right!!
Kys , wow six months we are all here for you.
Hello everyone else
AFM. I went for the scan only to be told i needed to wait another 4 days , so even though the dummies booked me in for exactly 12 weeks i have to be at least 12 weeks and 4 days its better. The good thing is i saw bebe , dh and i got the shock of our lives , bebe was very still , but as she pushed more bebe woke up and didnt seem to pleased . Just like bebe's mama bebe would prefer to be sleeping at 9am on Saturday morning:laughing:
So I have to go back on Wednesday , man!!! WTF I dont wanna do the whole bladder thing again , as she pressed down i almost screamed!!
Yes names are funny things Gillie !! Laughs
Yeah another one was destiny ewwww!!!!
and you watch Maurie and all those skanky people have names likes destiny , candy and hope and ewwwwwwwww
he does have a few good ideas though

Bella - It's good to be able to talk about it though hey? I actually have OCD and irrational thoughts are my specialty!!
Your dream sounds so lovely and you are right that you have bonded with this baby.
I was wondering if it was your little darling girl that you lost that you were dreaming about? Like a little message she was sending you that everything will be ok. Cause you did say you thought it might be a boy? Maybe she was saying that she's still there with you.....
Hope it wasn't inappropriate for me to say that.
Anyway - just got home from doing the groceries. DH is on his way home and I need to put my feet up! Exhausted.
Have a good saturday, I'll be back later to make sure you are ok :hugs:

Cazz - what a pain!!! I have my 10w5d scan on Monday and it's going to be internal. I am so not looking forward to the full bladder one.
Names....hmmmm....my DH has some doozies too but they're just silly like Wolf or something. Real manly he reckons. Ha ha. As if.
We like older names with simple spelling. I have part mediterranean background so I would like to carry that feel through if we have a girl. If we have a boy, something simple and to the point that either doesn't need a nick-name or that has a cool shortened version.
To all those military wives - I feel for you. I really couldn't stand being away from my DH.
My DH got out of the army 5 years ago now and it is a difficult transition. But one that has been a positive step for both of us. He wasn't in for that long while we were together, but for a number of years prior so I was only without him for one O/S trip which was short lived. Thank god. I just got a puppy to keep me company and she is our little baby now who's coming up 6 years old! A real bubba would be a struggle on your own, especially in the early days.
Trying to put off vacuuming & mopping -:D....

Hello !!
What a lovely relaxing day! DH cooked me breakfast, cleaned the house last night while I was at work, made lunch today and even did the washing! Spoilt little kizallie today!!
Kyster- Oh :hugs: Sorry to hear he is going away. I hate it when DH goes on deployment. We are here for you when you need us!
Gillie- LOL at your Sunrise !! I watch that every morning and I am not in NSW! hehe.. How are you going??
Peachy- How are you feeling?
Naards- How are you and the Twins going?
CG- I got my puppy when DH went away too! Awesome little company when he is away. I am really looking forward to him discharging. He still has not done it but we are just sitting on the idea.
Mincazz- LOL at your bladder comment!! I felt the same way when i had mine. GOod luck when you go back! :o
I am also having a hard time getting comfortable when sleeping. The bottom of my stomach has become all hard like and I have resorted to hug a body pillow.
Bella- :hugs: :hugs: I think you need these!
Forgot to mention my sister sent me her heart doppler. I tried to use it the other day but could not hear a thing. :(

Kiz - you are so lucky! How nice and thoughtful of your DH. I think I need a body pillow too. Might try and source one now. Need some baby bump belts too. None of my pants fit me!! Ahhhhh
DH mentioned something about those dopplers this arvo. Said he heard that lot's of them are not working and are causing unnecessary stress n stuff. So don't think there's something wrong ok?
We discussed names again this arvo. I think we have decided but I don't want to tell anyone - its' waaaaaayyyyy too soon for us.
The mattress from the spare room - come - nursery was SOLD this morning. YAY. Now only a telly to go. Then we can get started painting which my lovely friend's husband will do for us (painter). Can't wait!
DH and I watched Couples Retreat last night. It was pretty good. Easy watching you know. Funny at times. Nothing to rave about though.
Can't wait till Whip It comes out on DVD.
All I managed to do today was the groceries and scrub the toilets. The rest can wait......

Kiz bahahaha sorry I really had no idea whether it was only shown in NSW, how stupid am I lolol. You know how some shows are just 'local'? I'm a bit special lol You have been very spoilt today, deservedly so of course!!
Chicken - it is soo good to have a little fluffy one around, its so great to have the company and someone to talk to (yes, we have indepth conversations, as I am sure you do too lol), I would be lost without the furbaby. I don't know how I would cope if I came home to am empty house every day. I am curious to hear how DH has gone over the last 5 years, if that's not too personal. Is he still a 'military man'? I have heard that you never lose that mindset, you know once a member always a member, that kind of thing, if that makes sense? How long was he in for?
I am with you on the meds issue CG. I also suffer from depression, OCD, anxiety issues and also have tourettes (mild case, just muscular and vocal tics but not medicated) but I kinda cut back on my meds around the time of the transfer, which is not good. I discussed going back on with my GP around the 8wk mark, and he said if you are going alright then stay off them because its not worth it if you are going to stress more by being on them (even though there would be minimal risk going back on what I was on)!!!! So..all seems ok so far, I have my bad days of course, but my GP said just keep any eye on what's happening, and if I have to go back on we can deal with it at the time.
Cazz - I can't believe you have to go back!! That's crazy. We weren't told we had to wait until 12wk 4 days, in fact mine was done at 12wk 2 days, without any problem, and that was only because I couldn't get in the day before. What a bloody pain! Bertie was also very still, he didn't want to move for anyone and was mighty annoyed when we shook him up lolol. I love my sleep too so lets just say they are saving all their energy for their growth spurts  Oh Cazz...destiny...interesting lolol. Very Jerry Springer lolol This going to be fun, I can't wait to talk about names with you ladies when we all get down to the nitty gritty!!
Oh dear Bella, I agree wholeheartedly with what the other girls have said. You have to try and stop reading in to everything that is going on. It will destroy you and you will lose all the happiness that you should be feeling at becoming a mummy. Totally understand your fears and concerns - I have never been through what you have and I have no idea how it could possibly feel, but this IS your time, and you know that everything is going ok so far and that's all you need to think about - one day at a time, one week at a time. I don't get up to wee during the night either - I might go 5 times in the 1/2 hour before getting to sleep :D but once I am asleep I am out for the count, and its just one big wee when I wake up. I don't think the worrying will ever stop, but there comes a time when you have to go you know what, there is nothing I can do now and I just have to enjoy what I have. I worry every day that Bert is ok and in an ideal world I would have a scan every day :D but i know that's not going to happen and I just have to believe that everything is happening in there and I keep talking to him and rubbing my belly and telling him how much I love him and want him xx
Kys gosh 5 months, that is huge! We are all here for you. Gosh he will be cutting it fine getting back in time won't he...? Hope you are ok - you have been through a lot of deployments!
AFM it is ppeeeeeing down here today so its a good day to be at home. could be cleaning but....naaahhhh lol! Went to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo last night which was great, I really wasn't too keen on going with DH not here, but am so glad I did. I have decided I want to join the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra lolol. They were great! Just people playing the steel drums and a couple of extra instruments...and they had a limbo-er!!!!!!! So funny! Like nothing I have heard before!! I had a guy come to look at our shower screen this morning and then ended up asleep on the lounge from 11 till about 430 lolol The only benefit of having DH away is that I can do it without having him getting bored and wanting to do things lol.
Am really starting to notice a bump now, even though it really still looks like fat, I can notice it, and if I lie on my belly in bed I can feel its harder, don't want to squish him lol Have my appt with the OB this Thursday so I dare say I will get to see him again! Can't wait.

Hi Lovely Ladies
I Hope you are all doing well, so many familar ladies
Can i ask you all a question..i'm having a nervous wait for my BT on Monday to confirm my BFP but for the last fews days (which i think is what made me POAS in the first place and have done more since the first one just to make sure) i have had these pains not cramping but almost stitch like some lower near the ovary area (not the actual ovarys but close) but mostly near the bellybutton kind of like i'm full and my lower region feels really hard
Does any of these pains sound normal any advise you ladies could offer would be great ..i'm probably just freaking myself out as Monday seems so far away

Good on you for being on a lower dose Gillie. It is so hard.
I am on a little less than ideal but that gives me a buffer for PND you know...I worry about that.
But, like you say...you have bad days (which we all do) but if you can get through without being too strung out then you are doing well.
It's amazing what our minds can do hey?
Quiche for dinner tonight (a household fave). My turn to cook it. I cheated and bought packet frozen pastry. Too tired to make my own.
Thought I would share what I have been hooked on:
salt and vinegar (anything)
plain greek yoghurt (by itself)
the new vegemite (on anything)
philly cheese (on anything)
red apples
mocha or caramel latte frappe
veg & cheese subway
Pop corn
Tuna dippers (like snack packs with crackers)
Rice dishes (fried, coconut, with stirfry)
What about everyone else?

Hey Emma! CONGRATS on your BFP!!! That is fabulous news. It's hard to keep up with everyone.....
I had cramps right from when I reckon was ovulation (we had a natural surprise) until about 6 weeks. Funny niggly ones, achey ones, feeling full (like before AF) ones and sharp ones. It was definitely very active down there. I guess that's cause little emby has implanted and is making his/her new home.
Are you on pessaries? They made it worse for sure. When I stopped the cramping eased a little.
:smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance: So happy for you!!!
Best of luck for your BT on Monday. My 10w5d scan is on monday and it's been 4 weeks since any confirmation that I am pregnant....SO NERVOUS!!!

I cannot say how excited I am for you! I have already congratulated you but here is one again...
YAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!
Monday is not that far! hehe.. two more sleeps! I also had a lot of niggly pulling like pains down there!
Well done for your milestones! I was so disappointed in your last cycle and have been following your progress very closely. :detective:
CG- I am not getting too worried about the doppler.. I cant hear my heartbeat either! Dh can hear his. I think it may be because of my extra padding..
Gillie- DH and I were talking about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo last night! hehe..
Peachy- THanks for the advice.. will try it!
I am so so so bored tonight. DH is playing his game on his computer so it looks like a BH evening then an early night. I do need one though!

Oh Emma congrats on the BFP!!!!! Mine was a natural FET as well and I really had no symptoms apart from a few niggly pains down there, the odd twingy boob, but nothing that I could say 'ohhh i think i am pregnant'. Which worried me and made me feel for sure that it was a BFN. I was on pessaries and stopped the day I had my BT. I have been getting mild sharp pains around my right ovary since the transfer, but I think that stemmed from my EPU, left side I didn't feel a thing but right side was excrutiating. But I mentioned this to the sonographer the other day and she checked my ovaries and they are fine, so don't know what it is. I am not worried, I just feel it more on the right side. Can't wait to hear your results tomorrow, please let us know!!
CG: I think whatever you decide to do is the right thing, as my GP and psych said to me, there is no point to worry totally about baby if it means you are going to neglect yourself, which is true. Its such a hard decision to make. I worry about PND as well, and the midwife at the hospital who booked me in made a point of ensuring I had lots of information about PND and made notes on my file, which gave me lots of comfort. They are obviously very aware of it and take it very seriously, which is great. And most importantly those of us that suffer have to ensure that we ask for help when we need it!
Not many cravings for me. Definitely spring rolls though lol. I could eat them every night, my home made ones though not bought ones. Even though the last 2 batches have been ordinary, I still want them tonight lol. Must resist! Just had spag bog and didn't do the trick lol Oh and green cordial. I also went through a stage early on of wanting a big glass of milo, but that's gone now. I want cravings lolol. Although am watching the rerun of My Kitchen Rules and I am quite keen on the chocolate mousse cake lol

Hi ladies,
Emma yay yay yay yay!!! That is awesome news!! :goodvibes: you must definitely update us when you have your BT on Monday! Have you worked out yet roughly when your due date would be?
Thanks for all the kind words and stern talkings-to you ladies have given me today. I am trying to keep my anxiety under control but sometimes I just can't seem to get there and it all gets too much for me. You girls are so helpful in bringing me back to earth when that happens :hugs:
So many of you seem to be in military or ex-military families! I am losing track! Someone needs to post a list of all the ladies on here who are ADF (or ex-ADF) wives so I can refer back to it when I get confused
Cravings, well in the beginning it was chips and anything salty really. That has gone, and is now meal stuff like rice meals like stir-frys, curries etc, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches. I almost had an orgasmic experience over buttered toast and scrambled eggs and baked beans the other day. It was soooo good! I am definitely off the snack foods though. When I crave food, I want 'real' food! I am loving ginger cordial too. It quenches my insatiable thirst, and when I feel the slightest bit nauseous, it settles tum right back down again. Not even slightly interested in sweet foods like chocolates, cakes etc. I want MEALS! I wish I was craving vegetables and fruit, but alas I have to force them down. My body seems to think they are optional and it does not want.
I went to my niece's sixth birthday party this afternoon and spent time cuddling my 3 month old niece, feeding her her bottle, giving her kisses, making her giggle. It was magical :cloud9:

Oh Emma YAY!! thats so super!!
I hope everything goes well for your test.
It might be i too early to hear a heartbeat on the doppler , I read somewhere that the best time is between 18 weeks and upwards.
I think if they have to use a scan to measure the heartbeat before then becos a doppler wont work yet. In fact if it helps i never heard Ash's heartbeat with a doppler until well into the 26th week. ( all though that might have been because the clinic didnt try it until then)
I am going to take Wednesday off and have the whole day free to do the ultrasound!! I think that would work better, considering we have one car and I have to catch a bus accross town.
My cravings so far CG have been eggs , nachos , pizza , and this morning i really wanted a crossiant , so i had one with jam and cream cheese.oh and yesterday i wanted a choc fudge sundae , so i popped into the pancake parlour and had a hot ball YUMMO!! Good luck for your scan tomorrow!! it will soo exciting for u to see your bubba again.
Take care all

Bella - Good on you! How exciting! I haven't had the guts yet but it's been 4 weeks since my scan. Tomorrow can't come soon enough I tell you.
What did you get?
ASillyMummy
07-02-2010, 17:07
Haha, I know how you feel Chickengirl! We have a OB appointment tomorrow and I hope he has a machine in his rooms because I want a scan!
Well we picked out the cot we wanted a few weeks back. It is a Bertini Renaissance in white. At the Pram Warehouse outlet near us they had them as a package price - cot, change table, innerpring mattress, and change mat for $899. Saving of $300. We liked this deal and decided that when we hit 12 weeks we'd buy it. Since then, every time we have gone past the shop we stop in to 'visit' our cot. We did so again today and...... couldn't believe it, they sold the last of their stock of this cot and change table YESTERDAY! As such, the package price deal was now finished! OH NO!!!
I was quite upset at missing out by such a small margin of time but the girl rang around some other stores to see if anyone had stock left so she could still offer me the package - one store! She said I could get the package price but I'd have to buy outright, not lay-buy, as they really wanted to move the stock along. DH and I quickly conferred, and decided to just go for it, so we bought them! They have to come from the other store, so we are picking them up next Thursday. We got to bring the change mat and mattress home today though. SO EXCITING!!!

That's lovely! What a nice thing to do on a miserable (weather) Sunday....is it raining there?
We have a Pram Warehouse here too and they have great prices and are so helpful. No reason to shop anywhere else especially if you can get it all from the one place.
Finally our nursery is ready for furniture so providing the scan goes well tomorrow, we'll orgaise the wall to be painted and then place our order! YAY!

Hi Ladies!
Wow there's been a lot of action in here the last couple of days!
Bella, how are you holding up? Fantastic that you went and made some purchases! That is a good positive attitude! I just want to say that this CAN happen to you... you DO deserve it... and having a baby after multiple miscarriage DOES happen. You just got to stay positive honey, yes I know very easy to say and I have my little freak outs still but I try and stay as positive as possible... if for no other reason than to give myself a chance to enjoy this pregnancy.
Cazz, that is very odd about having to go back for the scan. You can have the scan between 11 and 13 wks 6 days so I don't know what that's about? Mine was on exactly 12 weeks and it was fine.
CG, as yes names... I think DH and I are getting to agreement on the names, it makes it a little hard to think of 2 of each (just in case he he) but I hope to convince my OB on the 18th to have a little look between the legs.. ;)
Oh and cravings... mine are, saladas and vegemite, fake cheese, white bread rolls, jupiter bars and anything noodley. Other than that I'm exactly like Bella, I love anything mealy, anything that makes a good solid meal with extra carbs!
Bella, it seems we have the same taste! I've laby'd the bertini renaissance in white too... it's a great cot! I visited it at the baby shop the other day.. :D
Yes I'm having pain while sleeping too... been having it for weeks! I have been sleeping with a body pillow for about 8 weeks now, it's my saviour! I'm heading to the osteo tomorrow to get my pelvis looked at because that awful sciatica pain has come back... ouchies!! Hopefully she'll straighten me out... ha ha ha ha pun intended!!!
Peachy, I bought a packet of belly belts the other day too! They're great but can't imagine using them in late pregnancy. They're fantastic for now though, yep none of my pants fit me either! In fact I think I've gone up two sizes in just the last week! Oh and yes I've had shocking headaches this week too... I had to cancel my plans last night coz I felt so terrible. Let's hope they don't last!!
We went for a tour of the hospital today (yep another one, but this is the one we are actually admitted to). It was really good, they're really lovely there and it's a nice small hospital. I tell you what it is still very overwhelming! Especially when the midwife pointed out that my babies will probably be in the nursery for a while since they will be early.... eeek it's just a little tough (and real!) to think about.
Well I start prenatal yoga tomorrow night, wish me luck!! Could be very interesting to say the least! he he
Hi to everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! x
Cazz – Don’t we love full bladders, not, lol! At least you get to see bebe again soon! Good luck with your scan on Wednesday, hopefully they won’t press too hard!
Chicken – I would have been avoiding the vacuuming and mopping too, lol! Have you thought of any colours for the nursery?
Kiz – How are you going with the Doppler?
Peachy – If I sit for too long I get a really sore tail bone, but haven’t noticed and bum pressure! I had a headache for the first time in ages last night and I thought of you, I wish I had a miracle cure for you, they really do suck!
Gillie – This is going to sound quite strange but when I was reading your post about how you talk to bert and how much you love him and want him, I said to myself but it’s a girl! When I realized what I had just said, I thought OMG! So not really sure if it was because you are referring to bubba as a ‘he’ or what it is :detective:, but I guess we will know for sure in about 6 months, unless you are planning to find out earlier!
Emma – CONGRATULATIONS on your BFP! I am so happy for you :yelclap:! I had a few twinges and dull pains around the ovary areas and also down low more towards the middle. I had a natural FET too and I know when implantation happened as well, but I didn’t have an implantation bleed until it was squished out at 11 weeks (sorry TMI).
Bella – Congrats on your purchases! We have picked out our set but have not bought it yet!
Naards – Ooh, so you are finding out what sex the twinnies are? Good luck with the yoga tonight! We haven’t been for our hospital tour yet but I think it will be overwhelming like you say!
On the cravings :chef:, I love salt and vinegar chips (try to not have too many) and I’m having a run on the Orchy orange and passionfriut juice, oh it’s so good! One thing that has surprised me is that I am loving vegetables, I thought I would go for sweet things but no, veggies it is, lol!

Hi my favourite mummies to be!
Its Monday - YYYAAAAYYYYYY (not!) Have I ever mentioned that I hate my job? No? Well I hate my job! Well, more to the point, I hate coming into the office, I actually enjoy the work I do, I just dislike the environment! Coming in this morning was like having to walk over barbed wire with raw feet! But, when I got out to the car this morning to drive to the station, wouldn't you know it, I had a flat battery. A sign perhaps? :geek: Hmmmm
Anyhoo you ladies always cheer me up, so let me have a read back...
Peachy - I think it is best you get them checked out. Could be nothing, could be something, but better to be sure to be sure, headaches are the worst esp when you can't get rid of them and you get no relief. I hope he gives you some answers :hugs:
Ahh Musk you could be my own personal psychic lol. That's so funny you have said that, even though my Bert will always be Bert, lately I have been thinking 'hmmmm what if its a girl?' I do want to find out and of course will share with you all if I do, so I will have to try and remember this post when the time comes! Mind you, as much as I totally love and adore my DH, I swear he is a gay man trapped in a straight man's body (he has more shoes and clothes than I do, and takes far more interest in the house than me lol) so maybe Bert is in there thinking "for god sake mummy do the washing up and do your hair for once" lol
I love this cravings talk, a lot of women seem to crave S & V chips - I can't tolerate them at the moment (and I usually love them). I had some yesterday and I just added them to the list of things that feel like I am eating barbed wire lol. I am adding Pepsi Max to the list, I am usually a Coke Zero girl and not a huge fan of PM, but can't stomach that anymore, Pepsi Max it is! Odd! Wish I craved veges, salad i am quite keen on though.
Naards - hope your OB can have a quick peekie for you! Hope your Osteo fixes you up quick smart! How exciting for your hospital tour, it all seems sooo real now, its scary (in a good way):yelclap: Our bubbas will be here before we know it! Enjoy your yoga!
Yay Bella for buying your cot and change table! That is very exciting! I got to bring home our change table pad and a couple of other things too when i put all our stuff on layby and its just all sitting in the loungeroom still, I don't want to put it away!
Hmm what else, not much happening in my world at the moment, very booooring weekend, I didn't leave the house lol. Had a huge sleep during the day on Saturday and another 3 hours yesterday, blissful! Although I need another one now too

Well ladies lucky me has the day off today (sorry Gillie) :hugs: I know what it's like when you hate going to the place you work. I like my job and my team now days but have had asome terrible experiences.
Well, we had our scan today and our little Squishy is P.E.R.F.E.C.T!!! Yay yay yay :smiliedance:
DH and I were gushing through the whole US (which was external but no full bladder needed???) and we were like "WOW, OMG - That is so amazing" OBGYN was looking at us like "you are so funny" here's us going beserk when he sees the bubbas everyday! I didn't care, we were so chuffed.
Little one was moving around and threw us a wave. Oh, just so adorable. Little heart beat was fab (didn't get figures) and had all the right things in the right spot.
So I'm like 11 weeks tomorrow (gained a day) and OB did NT scan today? He said the "skin" or whatever it is at the base of the neck is measuring fine so combined with my age he said we're very low risk.
No BT, no scan between 12 - 13 weeks. I know they know what they are doing. Should I bother worrying?
Surely if there was any doubt he would order more scans/tests right? He is very well regarded with the QFG group and OBGYNs in general. (my God Father is one in South Aus and knows of him and speaks very highly of him plus he's the only FS around for like the whole of South West Qld).
What do you guys think?
All about me at the mo....just got home from the scan and buying 4 pairs maternity pants. 2 x jeans from Pumpkin Patch (thanks Naards) and 2 x work black pants from Target. All now with the seamstress having them taken up. Amounts to half the cost of the freaken pants!! Why can't I sew???
Anyway - need to eat some lunch.
Back soon.
CG x

I nearly forgot.... YAY EMMA! Woo Hoo! That's AWESOME!!!
Emma – Congratulations, that’s awesome news!
Gillie – OMG! My DH has more shoes than me and I’m sure he would have more clothes as well. He doesn’t mind vacuuming either! Well, I suppose they could be a lot worse !
Meg – I was wondering where you got to! Sounds like your babys room is coming along nicely. I have always eaten weird things too but never raw corn cobs, that’s funny! What bubba wants bubba gets, lol!
Chicken – I have the same problem as you, I’m short! I can only remember buying 1 pair of jeans and not having to take them up! I’m sure I could make a skirt out of what has to be cut off ! Lucky for me cause my mum can sew! YAY for squishy! Sounds like you had a great time at your scan. If your OB has no concerns than you shouldn’t either. I’m sure they know what they are doing!
ChickenGirl
08-02-2010, 15:13
Thanks Musk. That's what I thought. There's a reason they are professionals hey?
I find that target short length are the best but they only have some styles in that.
CG
CG – I don’t think someone would specialize in obstetrics if they didn’t know what was going on! Ooh thanks for the tip, I will have to go and check out target!
Hi Girls,
CG, yay for your scan results!! That's so exciting!! It's also great that they did the NT scan while they were there. And yep I agree I'm sure he knows what he's talking about. And yeah I like the target short length too although now that I've turned into a Nanna and only wear ballet flats I have to take them up too! Doh! he he
Wow meg, yes they are some weird cravings! Raw corn? But as musk says, what bubba wants bubba gets!
Well I went to my osteo and she was great! She explained exactly why I'm in so much pain, my pelvis is out by ALOT! Because the muscles aren't controlling my pelvis as well as it was it has just shifted itself and in turn has affected the muscle that runs up the leg/hip, through the groin, up the bum (sciatica) and this has affected everything up to my neck which is probably what is causing the headaches. So currently I'm pretty much a mess and now I completely understand why I have trouble sleeping. So I have to stop the gym and just do aqua fitness, walking and yoga... fine by me... kinda. Hopefully after some intensive therapy I'll feel normal again.
And now cause I have a shocker of a headache (am at home today) I'm wondering if I should go to yoga tonight?? hmmmm

CG , fantstic news about lil squishy:yelclap:.Not sure about the not testing but as you say he is well regarded and if my fs said the same I would follow his advice.
Musk wow my dh trys but umm he just isnt very good at it!!
Naards , that sounds painful yes i have heard that water arobics can ease the pain , i hope you get better soon. Maybe sit yoga out and go next week.
Peachey - ouchy sounds awful i agree they should uninvent them.
Bella , how are you , Wonderful savings on your set , great stuff.
AFm , I rang the imaging place cos i was a little worried and they told me that they beleive the best time to perform the NT scan is at 12 and either 4 or days. So i am guessing thats what i will do.
I am tendering my resignation tomorrow and after talking to dh i have decided i am gong to study and become a teacher.
so uni student it will be for me i am enrolled and ready to start 1st march.
I nearly told work to f off today , they just really get to me sometimes. and considering i am not even getting paid maternity leave it seems that now is the best time to get the hell out of there.
i have cravings yesterday night for srawberry freddo frogs. and strawberry stuff yummo.:)

08-02-2010, 19:02
Oh yay for Squishy CG! So pleased to hear all is ok. I too was doing the whole "is that", "is he" "was that" comments during the scan! I find it fascinating what they can see and the detail they can find. When you are watching your baby on screen its just mindblowing! I thought between 11 and 13 weeks was ok for the NT scan..I am sure it wouldn't make any difference if you went back next week so I wouldn't worry.
I once queried the full bladder thing because I was worried it wasn't full enough for one of my scans lol. She said a lot of people don't need to have a completely full bladder, it depends on whether you normally drink a lot of water or not?? And when she was scanning she said no problem at all! Go figure! So now I don't worry about having the 500 glasses of water or whatever they say, I just drink my normal water during the day and and have enough to feel like I need to wee but not to the point of exploding! I HATE the full bladder, its awful!
Musk I agree - wouldn't have it any other way, would much rather someone who can look after himself that the alternative lol. Although I have told him that if he comes home with any more shoes its straight to the divorce courts we go lol:D
Naard - would def have the night off yoga! If she has pushed and poked and pulled you might be a bit tender for a while. Have an early night and look after yourself, Yoga will be there next week.
Good on you cazz for studying! And if you are not getting mat leave then they can take a running jump! Its all good to have a job to go back to, but if you don't like the job in the first place why do you want to go back lolol Sorry I am biased today though, and anti work!

Hi ladies! Just a quick one - I will have to come back on later and do personals, as I am starving and have to go make some dinner asap!
Had OB appointment this afternoon and bub was great! Walked out of there floating on air. He said we can start telling people now, because the risk is negligible after 10 weeks. He said if it was going to go wrong, it would most probably have happened by now. This backs up a reputable longitudinal study my DH found which followed several hundred pregnant women who had a history of miscarriages and found the incidence of miscarriage was 22% at 6 weeks, dropping to 2% at 8 weeks, dropping to 0.6% at 10 weeks!!! I dunno about you girls, but I can definitely live with those odds!! (glad I didn't find this study when I was 6 weeks though, eek)
Sorry to crash this thread. Congrats to you all on your pregnancies.
Just want to send out a personal CONGRATULATIONS to Bellamama on her pregnancy and making it to 10 weeks!!!! Hopefully the next 30 weeks will fly by for you. I am so happy for you knowing what you went through last year :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance:

morning lovely ladies!
so we went to our doc last night to check up on a few things, headaches etc.. everything was fine! heard little peanuts heart beat again on the doppler! the only thing he recommended I do was to get a remedial massage! apparently my shoulder muscles that are somehow connected to my neck are all tight and knotted so therefore more than likely causing the headaches! I questioned him on the safety of massage and why some people say it's bad for baby! and he said that when you are pregnant there are certain things that shouldn't be done.. like laying too long on your back or tummy! he recommended someone to me so I feel good about it! just hope I can get in this week!!
grrr I'm so annoyed at my work.. I was on the verge of tears yesterday by the time I left! so you all know I've been off due to ms, and I told my manager 2 weeks ago that I was feeling better and wanted to come back to work! and she seemed happy and put me on a few times over the last week! so anyway! yesterday two weeks worth of roster goes up on the board and not only am I not rostered on.. my name isn't even there..
ouch I just spilt got tea all over my boobs :'(
anyway! dh thinks I should quit and just concentrate on the baby and staying stress free! bless him! he's working so hard to keep us going! I couldn't ask for a better husband! but now my problem is... what the heck do I do next?! I can't find another job when I'm nearly half way through a pregnancy! so what do I do?? stay homeall day??
I don't even want to see my boss at all! she's so unsupportive.. I just hate her at the moment!
rant over.. grrr just needed to get that off my chest!
39 here today!! F**K off!!
Naards – In a way it’s good that you know where the pain is coming from, but crappy at the same time cause you still have the pain! Hopefully the aqua fitness will help.
Cazz – Good luck handing in your resignation today! DH bought home some little strawberry Easter eggs yesterday and they were so good!
Kit – Next time I but some pants I will send you the bit I cut off so you can add it to the bottom of your pants !
Gillie – DH is a runner so he gets a new pair of joggers every 3-4 months. He doesn’t throw out the old ones so he has like 4 pairs of old joggers! But shoes are shoes !
Bella – So glad to hear that bub is doing well. With those stats you might be able to relax a little bit.
Peachy – Hopefully after a massage your headaches will go away. I’m sorry to hear about your work, your boss does sound very unsupportive. Did you confront her and ask why you are not on the roster? Maybe DH is right you don’t need the stress right now, but I understand your worry, after a few weeks I would get bored staying home all day. I’m sure you will make the right decision hun.

Morning ladies! :D
Well this may be a long post as there a few things that are going on and I am so so so glad I have you ladies to talk too but also sorry to lump it all on you also. Will do personals after this post and after i attempt something to eat.
Well DH is handing in his discharge today. So looks like November we are moving back to the town my family live and if he does not find work in the meantime that supplies accommodation we will be living with my parents. Not an ideal situation with a 3 month old bubba and starting a new life as a family but to help us out of a drowning pool of financial issues we cannot see it any other way. I feel like a failure and although I will have my mum to support me it still does not feel the same. Plus DH has been in the Navy for 13 years!!! He will go through so many emotions himself!
My mum has expressed interest in leaving her job (which she has wanted to do for a long time and she deserves to) and look after Snoopy and her other grandchild while I go back to work part time if that is what I need to do. :crying:
I am looking at the positive side of it and thinking well at least we will be with my family and I would rather leave snoopy with my mother than anyone else.
Sigh....
Smells are still driving me crazy!! Sorry if this is TMI but went to the toilet today and I went to flush when the smell of the bathroom, toilet and DH's aftershave mixed altogether meant I spent the next half hour :barf:.
It happens when I go to the public toilets at work because I work in a shopping centre ewww! I have to block my nose everytime and that is no easy task when you are trying to pull down your pants!!
Speaking of necks and headaches. I have had the sorest neck from perhaps sleeping wrong or not sleeping at all (as was last night's case) and that has caused to headaches too Peachy. Dh rubs my neck everyday and that seems to ease the headaches.
Well going to get something to eat now. Today is my last day off before I have to be on my feet for 8 hours a day!
Sorry for the whinge.
Mincazz-:laughing: your baby brain is bad!! LOL.. Awesome news about the study. That is something I have always wanted to do.. Good luck! Enjoy QLD!! Sooo jealous!
Bella- YAY for your 10 weeks!!!!!
So excited for you and DH!
CG- Good news for your scan! Glad Squishy is perfect!! :) It is so exciting every time you have a scan I am looking forward to my 20 week scan now!!
Peachy- OUCH! 39 degrees! Yuck!
Naards- I hope you skipped yoga! How are you feeling?
Gillie- How many weeks now? I hope Bert is being good!
Meg- Nice to see you!!
Kit- I am also a shorty.. but your pants sound like DH's... he is 6ft 9 so shopping for him is a nightmare!! He wears a lot of long shorts too and all his uniform ones are tailor made to fit!! Jeans are a nightmare and shirts are worse!! Always either too short or too big (up the top) grrr!!
I see a lot of you have been doing shopping! YAY !! I cannot wait to get all my baby things that I have on layby. But slowly does it!
I forgot to mention that I had the worst cramps last night is this normal?? Is anyone else getting AF like cramps even just a little?

Oh ladies this has given me such a laugh and really brightened up my day lol. Sorry Cazz i am in no way laughing at you but more so that I feel your pain with the baby brain thing! There was something on the news a few days ago about research that proves that there is no such thing as "baby brain" RUUUBBBIISSSHHH!!!!!! That must have been decided by a man lol
Cazz that cat story is hilarious!
Meg - DH is the same with shirts too!!!!!!!! Honestly, he only wears them on weekends, how can one man need so many tshirts???? Ah they are sent to give us a laugh I think, bless them! DH's excuse for buying more tshirts while he is overseas is that the people that do the laundry boil their clothes and things get ruined really quickly. Ok that's fine while you are over there, but what's your excuse for everything in the cupboard at home lolol
Oh peachy that's very strange - I thought your boss was quite supportive at the outset (could be wrong though)? That's very strange that things have changed. Can understand if maybe she didn't give you as many shifts if she was trying to give you a break, but if you are ready and willing then that's your decision. If you left could you do casual work or temp work in the same field until bubsie comes? Hmm its a hard decision to make, but your health and sanity take priority! I think massage or some type of therapy is definitely a good idea if you are tight through your shoulders. It will def be causing headaches. I suffered really badly before I fell pregnant (but not as bad as you) and ended up going to a physio because it was so frustrating, and they worked wonders with heat packs and massage and gentle manipulation. Def give it a go and see what happens. Hope you didn't burn your boozwahs with the tea :D
Hahaha musk does he actually wear those other pairs of joggers, or is it sentimental reasons lolol  have a big clean out and whoopsie accidentally throw them out lol
AFM not much to report, just plodding along today really. Just received a message from the Defence Community Organisation to see how I am going with my darling hubby being away...ummmm he has been gone for 3 months now, so fine thanks! Don't you think you should be calling a bit earlier than a few weeks before they come home????? Honestly these people make my brain boggle!!

Oh Kiz so sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it.
Firstly, please do not feel you have failed in any way. You haven't and you won't. You will be a new mum with a husband going through all sorts of conflicting feelings, moving areas and living with someone else! This is going to be a huge step for you and a huge change, but one that also brings much hope and anticipation for a great future! It is just the start of many wonderful things to come. I think its lovely that your mum has offered to look after the snoops, and you are right, better that he/she be with family than anyone else. But its not ideal hey, and hopefully you won't have to take her up on the offer and DH will find a good job without too much fuss. We are here for you to vent to at any time!!!!!!!! :hugs::hugs:
Kiz – I agree with Gillie, this is going to be a very big step for both of you and you are in no way a failure, so don't even think that for a minute! You are lucky to have family willing to help and at the end of the day living with your parents won’t be forever, but I can fully understand wanting a home of your own with a new bub.
Gillie – DH still wears the old joggers, I think he gets annoyed with having to move them all time so the oldest ones get chucked ! At least I don’t have to touch them, lol! Must not be long till DH comes home?
Hi lovely ladies!
Kiz, yep I agree with Musk and Gillie... you are doing what is best for your family and it is only a temporary measure. And of course you can vent away anytime you like honey!
There so is a thing called 'placenta brain' coz I have it! I can barely finish a sentence these days without going 'what was I just talking about?'. It makes life very interesting!! he he People just laugh at me... Cazz I love it!!!
Yeah my hubby is all about the t-shirts too! It doesn't matter how many lovely Jag t-shirts I buy him though you can be sure there'll be a Liverpool or cricket t-shirt on his back until I scream at him like a howler monkey to please wear something respectful out to dinner... oh yes, out to dinner! Men! he he I can't really comment on the shoes thing though... according to my hubby I'm Imelda. We have a deal, one pair in, one pair out. Suits me fine, just means I can update my shoes every year!! (he didn't really think that one through now did he? he he) Although to be honest, now that I'm in the ballet flats all those lovely heels stare at me in disgust every morning saying 'go on wear me... you know you want to!!' ;)
Kiz, I've been having the worst cramps too! Is it a coincidence that we're at a similar stage? Or do you think it's because something happens around the 15 week mark? I'm hoping it's the latter but yeah it's been keeping me awake too! :(
Peachy, that's terrible about your boss! I wonder what the problem is? It is definately time to think of yourself honey! And I would strongly suggest a physio or osteo too, mine did wonders yesterday even after one visit!
I did skip yoga last night, after osteo my headache got worse (as it does) but today it has settled down alot, thankgod! I WILL be going next week though! I also had to say goodbye to my PT, apparently the work I was doing at the gym was just exacerbating my pelvis, sciatic nerve and neck problems. So now I'm sticking with walking, yoga and aqua fitness... it's probably for the best. It's a bit sad letting go of my PT coz she was with me all the way through IVF and she's just a lovely person. I'll just have to visit regularly, she can't get rid of me that easily! ;)
So I finally have 'names' for the twins... from here on in they will be referred to as 'Harry' and 'Larry'... was a little impersonal calling them 'the twins' or 'twin A and twin B'... so according to my nephew they are Harry and Larry, at least till they come out and we find out they're girls.. :p
I hope everyone else is well! Have a great afternoon! x

You are one strong chicky Kiz and if you can get through the rollercoaster of crap with IVF, then you can do this too, just remember that. And you can yell and scream and rant and rave as much as you need to here!
Musk pheewwiee I wouldn't be touching them either  Industrial strength rubber gloves and a very long pair of tongs would be in order lol
Its either 3 weeks and 2 days or 4 weeks and 2 days or 4 weeks and 4 days lolol. Still waiting to hear if they are sending him home a week early, on time, or 2 days late! His boss absolutely slammed him and 2 of the other Sergeants last night, still waiting to hear from him to get the details, and Sergeant number 4 only missed out because he wasn't around, but he is expected to get a slamming too. Told them that they were bad managers and couldn't do their jobs...um pardon me?? Pot, kettle black perhaps???? I know the other guys and they are very good blokes and very good at their jobs and well respected by their peers. This warrant officer is an absolute w*ker and noone likes him, but DH said it was his worst day of the last 3 months and I just want to give him a big hug. Thankfully this d'head is getting posted out of DH's unit as soon as he gets back so none of them will have to deal with him anymore.
Thanks Gillie, Musk and Naards made me feel a lot better. I must admit I burst into tears when I read your posts. It is just so nice to have support without judgement and going back to my home town (small town) I know there is going to be heaps! But you are right, I am doing this for my family and if I can survive IVF and the mental rollercoaster it can be then I can survive some gossip with nothing better to do than talk about me!
Naards- It may be that 15weeks mark for cramping? Looking it up on Google does not give me much info. But I feel better knowing I am not the only one. Harry and Larry are gorgeous names!!
I just realised most of us have nicknames our bubs boys names!! I wonder how many will actually be boys?!
Gillie- Urgh I hate people like that Warrant Officer. DH had someone exactly like that on his last ship when he was away. I am glad he is being posted away when they return. Let us know when you hear more about dates etc.
Musk- :hugs:
I have had to resort to wearing belly bands! OMG! It is too early for those isnt it? So frustrating that i am an in between stage with my clothes.
Naards- I often find myself saying "Umm what was I going to say?" LOL..
Have I told you girls my next door neighbour had a baby girl last Monday? She was 5 pound 4 and she is so so so petite!! Named her Kayla and labour was only 2 1/5 hours! I hope mine is only 2 1/2 hrs!!

Hav will be there hon. I am sure everything will turn out for the better , i do think that some things happen for reasons. and your mum and family sound happy to have you home ! Its only temporary honey dont forget that , it doesnt make y6ou a failure at all , It makes dh and you extremly brave for committing to a new life , a diffrent life
Yuck about the smells your poor thing!! Yes I get those cramps all the time , its just the placenta stretching my fs says .
Gillie , I know I read the same article , bs if you ask me , def writted and decided by men!! hmm about the defence coimmunity yeah does seem a tad bit late!!

Naards - good to here u stayed home , sorry to hear about pt sessions , but you can go back later. Harry and larry great!! lol harry-lyn and larry sue
Peachey - hahaha 22 oh well close not!!!
Yeah I am not real sure about tshirts but dh also lives in them , the only time we wears shirts is to work , when we used to look at display homes he would also drag me out lookin terrible and pop on his baggy trackies and a tshirt man!! we must have looked a sight!!
But some tshirts he looks oh soo good in , hang on leavfe me for a min alone with his tshirt !!!
I did i put in the letter i finish on the 23rd , I am scared being a student at 31 , but who cares if it takes ages !! I will just do it , lots of people make career changes , I will be one of those of those mums with a baby on the boob and an assignment on the other walking through the uni being stared at!!
Take care
everyone else I hope your day is great!!
:skywriter:Cazz
Cazz, I think it is admirable that you want to go back to school to better yourself! I think you are never too old to follow your dreams, alot of us don't actually know what they want to do with their lives until we're older... for instance I realised maybe a year ago that I would like to be an interior designer but I've actually been a public servant for (nearly) 20 years! You couldn't get two different careers! :D I seriously think it's awesome, you shouldn't feel bad about going back to school honey.
Gillie, that warrant officer sounds like a tosser... poor DH, not long til he doesn't have to put up with it anymore. I hope the dressing down doesn't mean his return being delayed.
Kiz, it is funny about the boys names. I was thinking exactly that too. Funny though, I have had two dreams about my babies, both have been a boy and a girl.... the first one they came out while I was going down a water slide and I caught the girl when I splashed in the pool and dh was down the bottom to catch the boy (ummmm yep random!!!!) and the other was last night when I was actually in what appeared to be a hospital but they came out all bloody but looking about 6 months old. So I think someone is trying to tell me something (other than the fact that I'm going loopy loo loo! ).

Bella - Congrats on your scan. You can start to relax and believe you are going to be a mamma this year!!!
Peachey - I've also been getting lots of headaches - tension ones mainly. Very annoying!!! I find a weekly neck & shoulder massage helps.
Kiz - I lived with my MIL for 3 years as both dh and I went back to uni later in life. It was the best thing we ever did as we now have been able to buy our own place with the money we saved.

Oh, you lovely ladies ... so glad to see you all doing so well & :ecomcity::ecomcity: ing away ...
I hope you don't mind me dropping in to say hi! Truly, it makes me really happy when I see this thread humming along. :) DH & are preparing for a FET in March and :fingerscrossed: it's the one for us gals ... I'm counting on your good vibes for us ... ;)
Peachy, Kiz, Naards, Gillie, Kyster ... you are my hope! :hugs:
For a serious moment ... I'd sure love it if one of you snagged that due-in calendar and updated it here for you all. I don't wanna be a nag ... but I did it for us!
Hugs & love to all
Kim
Kim lovely to see you! Wishing you all my heart that your FET is your :babydust2: one.. xx I have PM'd you if no one else wants to take on the Due Calender I don't mind doing it.
Babydreaming- Thank you for telling me your story. It makes me feel a lot more positive about the whole situation.
Cazz- I also admire you for going back to Study. I wish i had the motivation to do it myself. :hugs:Thank you so much for your support and kind words, they meant so much.
Naards- About the dreams, I have had two dreams and in both I am having a girl!!! Depep down in my heart though I think Snoops is a boy. I could not help but laugh at your water slide birth! What an experience!

Kiz - small town = small minds!! You have nothing happening in your life that warrants you doing anything but holding your head high on your return. And if they want to talk and judge let them - they clearly have nothing better to do with their time, you guys do! And its none of their business why you are there - DH decided to discharge and you came home to spend time with your fam - simple! Obviously I don't know your home town or life story but its about you, DH and bubsie and that's what's important! Oh I bags one of those 2.5 hour labours too - where can I sign up lol
Naards - I looove Harry and Larry - that's the best. You have to give them little personalities, wonder what they will be? Love your dreams, although lets hope the waterslide doesn't eventuate lol Shouldn't be any delay with his return, if anything the WO will want to get rid of him lol. Still waiting for DH to call, which isn't like him....hmmm
Cazz don't be scared about going back to study - I applaud you! I know I wouldn't have the nouse to do it. You have to do what makes you happy and yes, at 17 or 18 most of us don't really know what we want to be when we grow up. I didn't go to uni after school, actually I didn't do any study, straight into the workforce but have worked my way into the role I have now, but I have many friends who spent 4 years studying, worked in that field for a couple of years and went hmm not really into it anymore, and went back to study again. So you go girl, you can do it!
Oh, and I also have a friend who has 2 kids only about 15 months apart and the whole time she was pregnant, feeding, raising kids, she was working and studying!! It can be done! Ok off my soapbox now..
Hi babydreaming, nice to see you!
And big hi and :hugs: to Kim! You are always welcome here my sweet. Good luck for your FET in March - please keep us updated on how you are going!
Righto ladies the furry one and I are off to bed! Soooo tired and its time for retire to the comfort of my pillow lol Enjoy the rest of your night my lovelies xx
Hi Everyone

Ugh, is anyone else just hungry ALL THE TIME???? Is this why us preggies pack on the kilos? I had dinner 2.5 hours ago and my stomach just gave the biggest growl!!! It seems can't go more than 1 hour without a pee, or more 2 hours without a feed!
This happens to me every day lately. Yesterday we went to the OB and had a coffee (hot chocolate for me) and it was only 3 hours since lunch but I HAD to order a toasted sandwich! I was famished!!
Please tell me I am not the only little piggy around?!
No Bella! I am hungry ALL THE TIME too! lol.. Our bubs just need food!! lol..

I am so glad to hear that Kiz! I am sooo tempted to go grill some chicken breast and make a yummy big sandwich with hot crusty bread (I have some of that bake-at-home bread I could pop in the oven!) Ooooh hot bread with melted butter.... mmm... and grilled chicken.... salt and pepper, some avocado, bit of melted cheese..... ooohhh. Right! Serious growling now!!! Be back soon!! :chef:
Bella!!! YUM!!!! Make some for me!! lol..
I have gone from a craving of pickled onions and meat pies to icing.. or cake.. hmmm...
We had Vegetable slice for dinner with salad.
a square of chocolate for dessert so I am hoping that will curb my sweet craving!!
Let me know how yours was.. I want some !!
No you certainly are not alone Bella, I am hungry all the time... yeah pretty much have to eat every hour. I went to a friends house for dinner and had beautiful (and big!) vege lasagne and salad for dinner and then fruit for dessert and I'm hungry again... even though I was bursting at the seams 2 hours ago! It's frustrating but yep bubbas need all the nutrients they can get!
Hi Kim, great to hear from you honey! So glad you're looking ahead to your FET in March! Fingers crossed this is the one!!
Hi Bec! We've missed you around here! Not good you haven't been well honey.
Gillie, DH has already given Harry and Larry personalities... Harry is a quiet midfielder and Larry is a excitable striker (uhuh he's is football obsessed!)... Personally I think Harry is him (laid back, everythings cool) and Larry is me ('hello everyone look at me!!!). I hope you've heard from your DH???
Bella, sorry but your chicken craving made me feel a little queasy... I absolutely hate chicken at the moment, it is such a random thing to hate I know but I just can't stomach it. It might actually be the texture?? Hmmmm or perhaps I'm just strange?
Kiz, yes I'm a big fan of cake at the moment too! We went shopping at woolies on Sunday and I had to buy an individual serving of cheesecake... don't know why I just needed it then and there!!!
Sheesh I better stop ranting and get to bed! Night lovely ladies! x

Oh kiz it was sooooo good! Now I can sleep happy and full :p I went through a stage of loving pies too, will often force DH to go for a drive to Fernvale (small town near us) they have a bakery FAMOUS for its pies. They have about 100 varieties!!! Add a Jacaranda iced coffee (extra naughty considering I have been soooo good and not had a single cup of coffee since TTC!!) Oh the whole combination is just sooooo yum!!
Oh naards I have heard that a lot of women go off chicken! Thank god I'm not one of them, as I am a "selective vegetarian" and don't eat red meat. This leaves me with only chicken and fish, so thank god I haven't gone off chicken because it is MUCH cheaper than my favourite fishy fillets are, ie. barramundi and salmon!!

omg!!! I thought I was crazy!! I have absolutely gone off chicken.. just tonight I was eating at mum's and someone said something about a chicken shaslic thingy and I instantly felt queezy! yuck!!!
he he glad i'm not the only one Peachy!! Phew!

Oh Peachy and Naards I'm so happy to hear you both say that cause I cant stand chicken at the moment unless its already cooked and prepared in a very heavy duty sauce disguising all chances of it ever resembling chicken again :D

you know it might just have something to do with the fact that i'm TOTALLY and UTTERLY disgusted at HEINZ... for putting chicken in a can... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW:barf:

Sorry girls but I think I am the only one going against the grain lol. Food is still not on the top of my favourites list, I struggled through 2 slices of toast this morning, and yesterday I only had cereal for breaky, and chicken schnitty and chips for lunch as we went out for a birthday, and no dinner because I was still full. Booo I hope that doesn't mean anything bad!! I get hungry, but not famished and when I do eat I can't finish much! Maybe it will come... I do love chicken though, particularly crumbed and fried, or in spring rolls baaahahahaha! Have definitely been feeling like meat pies of late though and was curious this morning as I walked past a cake shop if I could get away with eating a sausage roll with sauce for breakfast lol. Next visit to mum and dads I will be requesting mum's meat pie with mash and peas!
Oh Naards how funny that DH has already decided which is which lol. That's hilarious! I am laughing so hard lol
Oh I dont think I told you last night (if I did i apologise for repeating!) but I bought my first lot of maternity pants last night!! The one pair of pants I have been wearing to work (ok I have 2, but the 2nd pair are ripped on the inside leg seams...not pretty..and pair number 1 are only a couple of bends away from the same fate lol) are just getting too uncomfy so I thought stuff it, may as well go and see what's about. I desperately need new work pants anyway so I thought I may as well just buy maternity ones now then I don't have to worry anymore. And OMG they are soooooooo comfy!!! First wear today - I don't know why I didn't know about these before I was preggers because I would have worn them then too  So, 3 pairs of black work pants and one pair of shorts later, the bank balance copped a hammering but i am soooper happy! Might head out to Kmart one day on the weekend and check out their range, I hear they have quite decent stuff.
OMG Peachy - chicken in a can, and chop chop chicken is just WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! How hard is it to buy the real thing and cook it??? The thought of it makes me want to vomit! Mind you, my sister emailed me on FB the other day (because I had put a post up about how wrong it was) to tell me that her fiance wanted to try it lol. Gross gross pure gross! Hope he was joking lol
Haven't spoken to DH yet :crying: he emailed me on FB again and said he couldn't get to a phone yesterday but was going to get up super early and give me a call. They had another meeting with the Warrant Officer yesterday which sounded like a waste of time. Hopefully he will call soon!
Naards – Glad you skipped yoga, there’s always next week! Harry and Larry, that’s so cute! Love the waterslide dream, lol!
Gillie – I hope DH finds out soon when he’s coming home. Glad to hear that his boss will be moving on, sounds like he likes to throw his weight around! Hopefully he will come home early.
Kiz – If you go back to your home town and certain people have nothing better to do than judge you and gossip then they must be jealous of you, if they weren’t why would they bother! You are better then all of them!
Cazz – After a month or so DH’s joggers stink so a 20 year old pair is not coming anywhere near my house, lol! Good on you for changing careers, you will do great at uni, you will probably be the only sober one there !
Baby – How are you going hun?
Kim – Nice to see you hun. I’m sending you positive, sticky vibes and wishing you all the best for you FET.
Cobbec – I was wondering where you got to. Good luck with your 12 week scan. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Bella – Hungry little hippo here too ! I can’t believe how much I can eat these days, either can DH, lol!
Peachy – How are you feeling? Hope the headaches are easing.
I am loving chicken YUM, but chicken in a can hmmm, no! One thing I can’t stand is the fresh pasta (like ravioli). It makes me feel yuk even if I see it in the supermarket!

WOW Cazz! What an amazing pic! Such a real person in there :yelclap: Little one....
Well, I am home and pigging out on salt & vinegar delites. Yum Yum Yum. Only had 1/3 of the pack. Trying not to overindulge.
I HEAR YA on the meat pies girls!! I am ok with chicken but not falling over myself to eat any meat really specifically.
I need some help...
Trying to find a good 3 wheeler for some power walking with bub. Can anyone suggest one? This would be an additional pram to the going everywhere (but not power walking) pram.
Anything around $350 is ok.
Thanks!!
Sorry no personals, need to work out dinner options.

Cg , I really cant help with the stroller for jogging and strolling , but i like the love n care on in the toys r us cat i think its like 220 at the moment with the sale price , oh i also like the steelcraf.
t strider , I am not sure of the price.
Havent really got into pies gals , I had baked beans on toast last night and surprised myself because i was able to eat it and not want to :barf:oh and thanks for comment about bebe , our little sweetheart!!
Hope you all have a great day:skywriter:Cazz
CG- I cannot really help you either on that one!! I like the strider too..
Cazz- I had baked beans too last night with diced onion and bacon and I was surprised how flavoursome it was!!
Off to work soon just popping in to say Hi to everyone and Cazz your bebe photo is beautiful!!
I did not sleep AT ALL last night and am sooo tired.... hmmm 8 hours on my feet... lovely.. grrr!!

Kiz , yeah baked beans mmm sounds yummjy what you did , good fibre content.
oh no , bad for no sleep , i hope you cope today , i have work too and its just one of those mornings where I am taking ages to motivate myself.
Yes was so excited to see little bebe , I had to get up and do a dance to get bebe to turn around , bebe was so relaxed just like dh and I , I made a joke that he or she was lazing on the couch already watching tv with feet up and chillin.
have a great day all
Did I mention I dont wanna go!!!
Cazz – Oh how cute! When I went for my 12 week scan they told me that bub was measuring 4 days in front, but over the next 6 months that will probably even out. I didn’t change my dates.
CG – I have just started looking into jogging strollers too. I have taken my nephew walking and it does make it easier having a proper jogging one rather than a normal pram. I have found a few from bjstrollers.com.au but not sure on prices. It has a whole list of outlets where you can get them from. That’s as far as I’ve got so far, lol!
Kiz – Hopefully you have a quiet day. Feet up on the lounge when you get home ok!
AFM – YAY 16 weeks today :)! I have booked in for our 19 week morph scan so only three weeks till we see bubba again! Me too! I have no motivation today, I just wanna go home!

Thanks Girls! I'll do some research too.
I'm def getting the Strider Plus for the main pram with the ability to add the toddler seat and having the travel system for the car. But think it's a bit big for walking/jogging.
I'll let you know if I come up with a good one!

Hi ladies first time reader, long time poster lol.
Well cazz you have the most lovely little bubba in there! Well done, its so amazing every time you see them! Hope DD enjoyed the experience as well!
CG we have bought the Baby Jogger City Mini as our main pram, its a 3 wheeler and supposed to be good for all terrain. They also have a specialist running one with those mega big wheels but um yeah that's not going to happen lol. They have a few others in their range and they are soo easy to manouvre and the putting up/down is done by a one handed move with a simple pull of a handle under where bub sits, and one pull of the handlebar to put up - really simple for simple people like moi lol. They aren't the cheapest, we got ours for $400 in the sales as they matched another quote, they are normally about $490, but they are supposed to be good. They have a website and you can look at their range and find stockists etc i think too. Ohh what did you do for dinner??
Yay Musk for 16 weeks :yelclap: Gosh you know we will all have bubbas in our arms before we know it? Scary stuff (in a good way!)
Kiz i hope your day goes ok today - 8 hours on your feet - eeekk!! Get lots of rest tonight!
AFM, and will try and keep it short (yeah right!) had a god awful day yesterday, had a fall at lunchtime face first flat onto tiled floor and spent 3.5 hours in the A&E dept of my maternity hospital (hmm private A & E, always knew it was going to hurt lol). No injuries for me apart from a bruised thigh and ego which I knew, but I was desperately worried about Bert. Thankfully all is ok, they did a scan last night and he was flipping around all over the place, and went to OB this morning and he did another scan and HB was great and he was still wriggling around. I know there was little chance of anything happening but I was totally beside myself with worry. So..$356 later for the A&E visit and another bill on the way for the scan (including a $150 call out fee because the sonographers all finished work at 4pm - this was at 5pm!!!), thank god its pay day today that's all I can say!!! Have to tell you though, DH rang last night because he is going on a trip today and didn't know if he would be able to ring me today before he left (I had spoken to him yesterday morning for a decent time), and he said "right, don't argue with me, I am transferring $1k into your account to go and buy some flat shoes" lol I absolutely pee'd myself laughing and said oh honey, I don't need that many pairs of shoes lol. Maybe 2 pairs, and the rest of the $$ can go back into cover the medical bills lol. I just couldn't stop laughing, not $100, not $200, but $1k...for shoes...I don't spend that much on shoes in 10 years lolol. God love him, he was so worried lol. Normally I would go woo hooo a grand to spend on whatever i want (in my dreams of course!) but um not with a baby on the way lol
But we are all good, I had the most wonderful Dr last night, and my OB also said you did the right thing by getting checked out, so I feel less like I have wasted their time, but my OB was so nice and said you and DH have put so much time and effort and love into making this baby, with everything that you have gone through its perfectly ok to worry when things like this happen, and every right to get things checked. It was such a comfort. Although I had to laugh because he said oh do you have my mobile number, so you can call me next time and I said oh yeah he said "why didn't you call me direct"??? I said oh I didn't want to trouble you lol. He just looked at me and smiled and said "that's what you are paying me for" lol. Hmm good point, sorry about that lol. I just love my OB lol.
Hmm not as short as I wanted, but believe me, I can go on lol. Oh and its looking more likely that DH will be home on 11/3, they are flying them home on a commercial flight (long story, but I honestly wonder who the brains are over there, clearly not those in logistics!). Not set in concrete yet, but its looking likely that that's what will happen! Fingers crossed!!

Peach I am sure it will be fine. Your GP referred you didn't he? If that's the case I am sure everything is fine (even if not and they knew you are preggers then they wouldn't have done anything that may affect bub). Is it just in your lower back? Maybe the pain you are feeling is all your muscles un-stiffening and working their way back into proper position as you have been stiff and sore for such a long time? Keep an eye on it though, and if you are at all worried speak to your GP.
I have been getting lots of pain in my lower back and hips over the last couple of days - maybe its all part of it xoxoxoxo

I think we are all going to be little stress heads until we have our babies lolol. Don't be too hard on yourself, my view is that I would rather care and be worried than not give a rats! All our bubs are worthy of our concern, no matter how insignificant it may seem to others (not us of course lol)

gillie i am so happy to hear that lil bert is ok:kiss: , that must have been scary. 1k for shoes wow!! thats so funny , i can just imagine spending 1k on shoes NOT!!! you are very loved hon and dh has the biggest heart!! cos apparently medicare will pay more on all medical expenses for that year!!
So doing mine when i did means i got a lil ripped off!! Of course i wouldnt change bebe for the world
but its a bit of a kick in the gut!! with all the money we spend
Hi Girls!
Peachy, I wouldn't worry honey, I get the same pains after my osteo and she does pregnancy specific osteo. She said that the baby moves around alot more after treatment because everything moves and it makes more room in there. I was getting the weirdest flutters after treatment today... it was cool The pain you describe definitely sounds like stretching pain.
Gillie, I'm glad you and Bert are ok honey. I would have panicked too! Your OB sounds great! I hope for you sake that DH comes home on the 11th too, that's not too far away!!
Happy 16 weeks Musk!
CG, yep as gillie says the Baby Jogger City Mini is a great pram! I will be getting the double version of it if I can't get this one.. http://www.babyjogger.com/city_select_lp.aspx it's the new pram from Baby Jogger which will be available in Aus in March... it's more stadium seating for twins rather than sideways or tandem. It looks awesome! I hope it lives up to the hype! (and worth the cost... $1200 for the double! phew! $950 for the single).
AFM, Harry and Larry are doing fine, only one week til my next OB appointment so I get to say hello again.. and ask to see between the legs ;). After only two sessions of osteo I'm feeling so much better already! Apparently I'm walking straighter already and the headaches are easing a little. So I'm definitely going to keep it up!
I seriously cannot believe it's Friday tomorrow... I've been so busy at work that it's just flown by!

Short update from me: I am eleven weeks today (yay!!) and feeling sick as a dog (yay!!). Can't believe I have almost made it through the whole week of work! I have been back at work for 3.5 weeks and I haven't had a single day off, despite desperate exhaustion and some days of vomiting multiple times before work (only been happeing for the last couple of weeks, so I must be a LATE morning sickness sufferer!). I think I deserve a medal!
We picked up the cot and change table last night! Tomorrow dad and DH are going to paint the nursery, and to get me out of the house while they are doing that, me and mum are going to go shopping for some maternity pants as all my work pants are getting a bit snug and I don't want to wake up one morning and find I can't fit anything on at all!!! Best to be prepared :p
Peachy, how are you feeling today after your massage??? I'm sure the back pain was just your muscles relaxing after weeks of tension
Gillie how are you feeling after your fall? God how scary. I'd be still shaking I think. $1K on shoes, hmmm, you know I think I could probably manage it....
gilliebean1
12-02-2010, 11:21
Bella - yay for 11 weeks!!!! Not long now until you can happily shout it from the rooftops!!! I have had so much time off of late, and desperately wanted to stay in bed this morning coz I am sooooo freaking tired, but dragged myself up!! I think i got my first full pay this fortnight (only because they didn't process the 2 late mornings and early leaving I have had this week lolol) - I am stoked!!
I am feeling fine after my fall, just a nice bruise on my thigh and today my right foot and ankle are a bit sore but you know, I could have broken both legs and I wouldn't have cared, as long as Bert is ok, he is absolutely and totally my number 1 priority! So mummy is back in flat shoes and will not be leaving the house this weekend lolol Oh don't worry Bella, given the opportunity I think I could easily blow $1k on 'stuff', unfortunately our actual real bank balance wouldn't appreciate such a battering and neither would the creditors  :laughing:lolol.
Oh Cazz DH is such a spoil-sport lolol. I must admit if my DH didn't want to know then I wouldn't find out either, I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret!! But it will be a lovely surprise for both of you. Did you find out with DD? Mmm tacos....now I have the taste for them lol
Naard Yes i saw their new pram on Facebook and it looks fantastic! Not cheap though (gasp!) but worth it for Harry and Larry. You need ease for you and comfort for them. They are a great pram. Say hi to the "boys" for us when you see them next week! Glad to hear your osteo is helping you - such a relief!
Hmm anything to report here, let me think....nup can't think of anything!
What's on for the weekend ladies? Again, don't think much for me which suits me, dare say I will just make it to 830 bedtime tonight lol. Might go and have a look at some baby things, buy some shoes :D, nap (most importantly lol)
Oh yes I forgot about the shoes! Yes I think I could VERY easily spend $1k on shoes! Although how many pairs of ballet flats does a chick need... although there are alot of colours to choose from... hmmm :D
Gillie, good idea about avoiding the heels honey... my osteo thinks it's much better to stick to flats when pregnant anyway. It's hard to get used to coz I'm such a short **** I would never been seen in flats before... but oh how we adjust, particularly when comfort is the priority!
Yeah that pram is awesome (and pricey!) I figure it will be a dream come true for twins... can fit through doors, isles etc and it's not too long so will fit in the boot. I just hope it is everything it's supposed to be.
Cazz, god I couldn't cope if DH didn't want to know the sex, I'd have to change his mind! :p I'm with you though, there is no way I could know and not tell him... good thing we're both on the same page (ie. impatient!).
Bella, happy 11 weeks honey! You must be feeling so much better... and it is funny how the MS makes you feel better not worse! he he When is your NT scan? And a fantastic idea about being prepared with maternity pants. I swear I went up a size in two days around my belly, everything just exploded! My concern at the moment is that I don't fit into any of my bras... my boobs are huge!!! (sorry if TMI) And they actually hurt when wearing a bra, even a soft cup one... hmpfh! It is so difficult to find bras for larger ladies, I just bought one online and it looks OK, haven't given it a go yet though..
Well we're off to Jamberoo for the weekend, should be great to get away (if my cold goes away... yuk!). What is everyone else up to? xx

quick one!
Thanks for asking.. i got a migrane this morning after not havng one for the last 2 or more years!
They begin with not being able to see properly then the headache attacks! bad news is i can only take panadol and the only thing i've ever found to work is nurofen or disprin..
i'm still cramping today and i'm, really worried about baby! i know its probably fine but i just cant help but feel insecure about the cramps i'm feelling! they arent bad just there most of the time!
Peach
Hey Peachy, please try not to stress honey... I was only just saying to Kizallie the other day that it was weird that we were both having those horrible cramps and that we were both around 15 weeks... perhaps that is when they go through a major growth spurt? I do know it's hard not to stress but please be kind to yourself. :hugs:

13-02-2010, 19:23
Hey ladies,
Cazz, :iagree: a roast sounds ghastly to me too, but my DH would undoubtedly love one! Unluckily for him I am not as good a wife as you are so he's going to have to suck up the baked beans on toast I have planned for tonight's menu.... unless he wants to make something else himself. We had pancakes for dinner last night! I craved them so I made them. He raised his eyebrows, but, smart man that he is, wisely chose to say nothing.
Your wondersuit sounds so cute! I want to buy some little clothes tooooo! I have a couple of items, but mostly essential staples like singlets and socks etc so far. I do have a little crocheted jacket, booties and bonnet set though :goodvibes: I bought it about 6 years ago when we first started TTC. Very naughty, but I bought it from the handmade stall at a school fete, so it was for a good cause! Its been packed up for so long waiting for a bubba, can't wait!
I truly love our nursery, and its not even close to being finished yet! But I can see it exactly in my mind's eye. We have pale sage green walls, white skirting boards and white window frame, and polished timber floors. On the window I am going to have white timber blinds (I'd rather shutters, but the budget just won't stretch..) and floaty white tulle curtains (to wave gently in the breeze :D). We have a white cot and white changing table. Chest of drawers is tall and white with a timber top, and the timber shade matches the big old silky-oak wardrobe we have in that room (we call it the Narnia wardrobe because it is huge and beautiful) and also matches the timber floors. On the floor I will have a sheepskin rug. For the walls I found a few years ago a beautiful vintage 1950s 'poster book' that my school was throwing out. It has twelve mint condition (the colours are so vivid and the paper still so crisp white that I seriously don't think it was ever even opened!) pastel watercolour scenes of 'Australian family life' from the 1950s. It was originally published as a teaching resource. The posters are about A2 size, so a great size for framing. I couldn't believe they were binning it! But they said they had to because the pictures did not represent the multiculturalism of modern Australia. I saved it and brought my prize home. They are just amazingly perfect vintage Australiana and I knew even then that I would use them in a nursery one day. What else? Hmm. I have a bookshelf as well, and will have a nursing chair too but haven't picked it out yet, probably just an upholstered armchair because I'm not keen on the gliders I have seen. In terms of accessories, we will leave it mostly until bub is born, that way if we have a girl we will add pink accessories (linen, toys, lamp, butterfly decals etc etc) to complement the soft green, and if we have a boy I will go and buy the Zanzibar nursery range to give the room a bit of a jungle theme with the green walls.
Phew! Okay hands hurt, will stop typing about myself now and move on to a handful of personals (I can't see back very far!)
Peachy!!! How is your migraine? Is it gone yet? You poor thing :hugs: I hope those cramps have faded away and aren't still freaking you out.
Naards, I checked out that pram, I love it!! It comes in single too doesn't it? I can't find any pictures online that show the different configurations of it. I will go have another search shortly. I have moved into my 'pram research' stage. I desperately want a bugaboo but gossssh the price of them is so off-putting!
Gillie, did you end up going and looking at ANY baby stuff today? I hope you bought some shoes at least
Hi to everyone I missed  hope you're all having a good weekend!
Hi
Just went to the toilet and I am bleeding! Just like I was before at 10 weeks. It is not heavy so I am laying down and trying not to stress. If it gets worse we will go into the hospital.
WHY??
Just a little bit of cramping not much.
ASillyMummy
13-02-2010, 21:21
Oh sh!t Kiz!! How scary for you! I am so praying that its nothing. I'm sure it isn't. You're well past the miscarriage danger zone, so the odds that its something bad are very slim, and they do say that lots of women bleed throughout pregnancy. As long as they are past the first trimester, like you are, then obviously they must be okay because the loss rate after 1st trimester is SO much lower than the rate of women who experience bleeding. I would say its just the lining stretching etc with the baby. If it was heavy, I'd worry, but because its light you definitely shouldn't panic yet. Look after yourself, stay lying down and keep still. If you're at all worried then definitely go to the hospital and get yourself and bub checked out. We are all thinking of you :hugs:
Thanks Bella. You put my mind at ease a little! It is only light which is good, even lighter than last time but redder if that makes sense. Yes I thought if it gets heavier I will go in but I am not going to sit in the waiting room for 8 hours to have no answers instead I will try to relax in comfort. It is just crazy how scary just that sight of it is! Last time there was so much more so this time I don't feel as panicked.
I am just laying on the couch with furbaby and watching star wars! Logged on to do personals when it happened so may be able to get some done now!

Hi everyone! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY :skywriter:
A busy few days on here so I'll try to keep up:
Gillie - Sorry to hear about your fall love. I hope you have recovered well and your new shoes make you feel better :D What a thoughtful DH! Not long now hey......
Naards - Do you think you will start your yoga again this week? I hope you are feeling a bit better after all the poking and prodding. My prenatal yoga classes start in 2 weeks and I can't wait!
Peachy - How's the head? :gloomy:
Bella - Your nursery sounds so lovely. We have chosen a sage green too! But more of a dusty sage instead of a light sage if that makes sense??? There's an olive hue in it. Our carpets are a dark olive colour and our walls a light green/beige with white doors and trims. Really nutral. SO hard to choose cot sets. I have been meaning to ask you a question - How big is the Pramwarehouse in Ippy? We have one here but not sure whether it is worth going to another one or even the Baby Warehouse in Logan. Have you been there? I'm pretty satisfied that we have seen all we need to see. It's already hard enough to make a decision.
Kyster - You will be busy setting up bubbas room this week! Sounds like a big haul you got today! I CAN'T STAND POOR SERVICE. How hard is it? But then again, you never know what kind of day that person has had or is having. Still, you do expect a certain level of friendliness, helpfulness and knowledge.
Kiz - Oh darl, what a scare. You will be fine - but doesn't make it any less scary!! Like the others said, rest up and go in if you need to. Chances of anything going majorly wrong are slim and I too have had friends who have bled through their entire pregnancy. Not nice, but true. And their bubs are fine.
Cazz - How are you? Like you and most of the others I am BEAT after anything that doesn't involve sitting or lying down  Cooking is one, doing laundry, shopping etc. Luckily DH came and did the groceries with me yesterday so I didn't do much except pick stuff out and order him around. :yelclap:
I am sure I have missed someone.....
AFM - DH and I went out for Indian last night for Valentines day and he gave me a beautiful card this morning. We didn't do presents. He said "Valentines day 2010 = 6 months till Squishy!!" He is very excited which is lovely.
We have picked out everything for the nursery and stuff like highchair, bouncer etc.
We're going for:
Grotime Teak Mercury Cot
Grotime Teak Geneva Change Table
Grotime Teak Bookshelf (doubles as under cot drawer)
Nature's Purest Hug Me Bear cot set and nursery decos (nappy stacker, wall paper strip, lampshade etc)
My super bargain beige suede La-z-boy feeding chair
Fisher Price Studio collection highchair and bouncer
Coco Bassinet for our room
Can't decide on a pram but leaning towards the Strider Plus 4 wheeler (for good clean use) and the Strider Plus 3 wheeler - just out Feb/Mar 2010 (for walking, jogging, park/dirty use).
We'll get the travel system and the bassinet and both prams can use all the same attachments. They also have rearward facing options and the ability to add a toddler seat!
So at the moment the only thing we don't know for sure is the pram. In March we will have to make a decision and order everything.
So jealous of you all who have your stuff, I want it NOW! Just waiting cause I want to order in one go so I can ask for a good discount.
Anyway - must go and do a little prep for another week at work. My darling mumma come to visit this weekend and she is taking me shopping for baby stuff. She is over the moon - and we'll go out for lunch! What a great weekend to look forward to. Oh forgot to mention - I'll have the Friday and MOnday off too! :smiliedance:
Sorry - longest post ever....

Kiz how are you today? Did that spotting stop?? I hope you are okay. Even my DH was asking me this morning if you had posted an update yet, so we are both thinking of you :hugs:
Two questions for everyone on here, the first is what can I take for a cold? I have a blocked nose, sore throat, and a cough. If no one knows, I will go ask at the chemist, but thought you ladies might have some knowledge in this area first. I haven't taken anything yet, and its driving me batty, I've had barely any sleep!
Second question may be TMI but is anyone here abstaining from sex or orgasm? Or if you were abstaining, but now you're not, at what stage did you feel it was 'safe' to start doing it again? I am dying for a bit of action but terrified for bubby. DH and I were mucking around yesterday and I came soooo close to the big O but at the last moment I pulled away and jumped off the bed, too scared to go through with it. I even asked my OB straight out if sex and/or orgasm are a miscarriage risk, and he said in a normal pregnancy it isn't a problem, but hello what is a normal pregnancy!?!? I've had some bleeding already, and two previous miscarriages, so I am loathe to take any more risks... Just wondered what other people's thoughts/philosophies on this topic were to see if I am the only one who is too nervous to come, or if we are all feeling like I am!!

Bella - I think we posted at the same time!
DH and I did it around 6 weeks and I usually bleed a little after sex (just my cervix I think). I did get the same at that time but it was just from the sex and very normal for me. We obstained until just before our last U/S at 11 weeks. I had an O and although we were both very nervous, it is NORMAL that your body does these things and I don't believe it can interfere with your pregnancy. We were just sure to be a little more gentle and be "aware" of bubba so as not to squash my tummy. I hope this helps. Maybe you will feel better after 12/13 weeks. Then you are into your second tri. We just didn't do it for so long cause we were a) worried and b) I was asleep/sick for most of the time I was at home! Sorry no help on the cold issue - I would stick to panadol, maybe some honey and lemon in hot water. But steer clear of Codral etc and even some natural remedies.
Cazz - I had the Swine vacc before embarking on our second (failed) FET. For this exact reason. I didn't want to have to think about getting it when pregnant. But - the worry seems to have died down a bit so unless more cases come to light and it gets out of hand, maybe you won't even have to worry about it.
I get the normal flu vacc every year and I will definitely be getting it this year - even being preg. My GP who I trust wholeheartedly recommends it to all her preggy women. I might also try and convince DH to get it. He is usually against it - having been in the Army and been jabbed for everything known to man and then some! He's quite against it (for himself).

Good idea Cazz! Here in Toowoomba, we have similar winters to Canberra (no snow though - but sometimes sleet) so I don't want to risk getting sick. Yuck.

So you were all making so jealous with your purchases I had to buy something!!! Bought our cot bedding, nappy stacker, mobile etc online just now. YAY :yelclap:
This is the range:
http://www.naturespurest.co.uk/catalogue/hug-me?&boxes_start_at=0
So excited! And I saved $70 from the first place I was going to but it all. Hard to find an Australian Stockist and they don't have the whole range but they had enough.
That should keep me going until April when the 3 wheeler Strider Plus comes out.
Better go hang some washing.....

Kizallie, you okay hon?
Girls, I am so sick with this cold. My voice is almost gone, I have had a headache from the constant coughing and the sinus pressure for over 24 hours now, my nose is streaming and blocked at the SAME time (grr!) and get this, I have a new trick! My chest/throat is really mucky and I keep having to cough hard to rattle it all loose. Well combine nausea from morning sickness with coughing and you get... yep! Every time I cough, I vomit into the tissue! EVERY TIME. I just did it again and lost all my dinner and even spotted bits of beetroot from lunch. I usually feel better after a good chucky, but nope, cold is still here, headache is still here, so in reality I feel worse than ever.
Dad and DH finished painting the nursery today and so tonight we excitedly ripped into the boxes and set up the cot and the change table! I will have to figure out how to set up a photo album on bubhub so I can start uploading our progress pictures.
Next Saturday we are having a family BBQ for DH's birthday. It is perfect timing because we are also exactly 12 weeks on Friday! So we're officially 'telling' people on Saturday! I am so excited. We knew that his birthday weekend would be the 12 weeks milestone weekend right back when we were booked in for our EPU (back when we didn't even know if we had any eggs let alone get pregnant and make it this far!), so we have been waiting for aaaages for next weekend and now its so close I can smell it! So excited!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend, Kizallie let us all know how you are going please! I am still praying for you hon.
I am going to take some panadol and TRY to get some sleep tonight (got none last night, up all night with this cold) I am sooooo tired...

Hello Kyster, Naards, Peachy and to anyone I have missed!
