View Full Version : home made tomato sauce
I want to start making mor ethen i already do from scrath. Tomato sauce was next on my list. Most recipes recomend a good day cooking it as to get the most flavour. From what i can find though you have to use it within 3 days or freeze it. Cant i add natural preservatives to make it last longer? Anyone have any tips or ideas? Or any great recipes?? Thanks in advance

My mum makes tomato sauce every year..approx 3-4 batches & they keep for over the year without any problems at all :D its an easy recipe & i will type it out for u later but i have to pop put now

How did you go with finding a recipe traseal? I would be interested in making some too :D
My Mum uses the E-Z sauce additive... it's only seasonly available though when tomatoes are at their peak so not atm... but it lasts for years so long as the jar is sterile and you seal it properly :) She just uses the recipe on the e-z sauce bottle i'm sure...
