dry and crusty behind ears

I've just noticed that DS has red/crusty/dry-ish skin just behind his ears (where his ears join to the back of his head).

what causes it? how do I treat it?

It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but I'd hate for it to get worse...

my DS had this too, people told me it was from not dryiing behind there ears properly..

now i make a point of drying behind there all the time.. and it has gone away.

My girls had it really bad and with DD1 it also got weepy too? The doc told me its from moisture getting/staying there, and to make sure you really dry it after every bath/wash. Try slathering on some cream after drying, either bepanthen, ungvita, pawpaw ointment, something like that, as a barrier to the moisture. Helped us!

DD1 also got it really bad under her arms, and behind her knees, she had to have cortisone cream prescribed :( .....as a first time mum, i didn't know i had to make sure every skerrik of moisture was gone....
