Hubby has been transferred to WA (we are in NSW at the moment) and looks like we will be moving when I am about 37 weeks EEK!
I dont know how:confused: but somehow I have managed to find 2 obs willing to take me on!!! I am due early March but will be having elective c section.
Could some one with any advice experience knowledge ANYTHING please help me with my decision -
DR Gan at Glengarry - (talked to him on the phone he sounds lovely but worried that after c section patients get put in a tiny room??)
Dr Armstrong at Mercy (heard nothing but good things about Mercy except soemtimes they are really busy?? but cant find much on dr armstrong)
OR go as a public patient at Pt hedland (close to where we will live)
Help please???

Small amount of input from me but I hope it helps.
My friend who is due next week is with Dr Armstrong at Mercy and she is very happy with him, only positive feedback. She has also been happy with her dealings with the hospital for her antenatal classes and such.
Best of luck whatever you decide.

I have heard bery positive things about both dr's - though I'd say Mercy is the nicer of the dr's.

Thankyou - My heart seems to be telling me Mercy but ins aying that - I have never seen either hospital or met either OB:o
Has anyone had a c section at mercy recently and have you been able to take bubs into recovery with you?? I think this would be the deciding factor for me.
I know a lot of people who've had their bubs at glengarry and none of them have any complaints. My siblings and i were all born there too :p not sure about room size though.

Thankyou.
Myztik of those that you know that have had babies there - do you know if any had c sects?
The receptionist for Dr Armstrong (Mercy) was also a lot nicer :D - not sure if that means much though!!!
Just doing a search now for those that have had c sects at Mercy.
Also is parking an issue around Mercy? and places for Dh and kids to stay close by?
So many things to think about .. and still have no idea what I will do with my other 2 when I actually have bubs..... I am guessing there is not a creche at the hospital???:p

Mercy gets my vote... haven't heard of the Dr though.
All the best with your decision... what a crazy time for you. Don't worry about your DH or kids, once you get here it will all fall into place ;)
:hugs:
ummm I think they have all been vaginal births sorry..

I've witnessed at csec at Mercy with Dr Armstrong (I'm a student midwife), it was my first time at a section and he arranged a stool for me and talked me through, he was lovely. I don't think the baby stayed in recovery but you can always ask for it to happen.

I had a c section at Mercy 2 years ago and the only down fall was that I could have bub in recovery with me but I send hubby with bub and gave them some one on one time which I think was nice.
they do have accomadation units for family you will have to ring them to find out the vacancies but I'm sure the hospital can give you the phone numbers and yes parking is a bit tricky at some times but you will get that at any maternity hospital around Perth unless you go to Murdoch SJOG as they have a huge car park.
Good luck if you want to know any more info just sned me a pm
