I have Bumgenius' nappies and Rumparooz. Both with aplix closures. However I have noticed that the velcro on the Rumparooz discolours very very quickly in the washing and curls up as well. But for the rest they are an awesome nappy. (Bumgenius is excellent as well, but a bit boring as they dont have any cute prints :D)
Im going to order 12 more Rumparooz, but Im not sure now if I should get the snaps or more aplix. I have a wriggly bub who hates nappy changes. Dont ask me why, but he goes hysterical over a nappy change
Aplix is very easy to close, but also easy to open for the streaking bub :D Plus the velcro rubs against my bare skin when I feed him at night and its not a nice feeling
But with snaps I think it will be more of a challenge to get them on my wriggly bub. Yet after doing some research it seems that snaps will last longer than Velcro. The Velcro will wear much quicker. Also when I emailed the lady about pro's and cons of snaps and aplix, she mentioned that 75% of the nappies that they sell are snaps.
For the rest she said both closures have pro's and cons and its personal choice when it comes to which ones to buy.
Now my question is..... Are there any ladies here who have wriggly bubs and still use MCN's with snap closures? If so, can you tell me how hard/easy it is to get them on?
My mother made a good point about it all. She said that decades ago they had wriggly bubs too and had to use the old fashioned cloth nappies kept jabbong themselves in their fingers, butr eventually they got the hang of it.
