As my DS is about to turn one I've been thinking about his first celebration already. We have tried to limit the amount of toys he has although I do buy him books, blocks, puzzles etc as I see appropriate. He was really spoilt by our family at Christmas time and I was just thinking of an alternative for presents for his 1st birthday.
DH & I were thinking of asking people to consider making a donation to a nominated charity in lieu of presents. Do you think this is okay?? Has anyone done this before?? We were thinking of the nominated charity as being a local one related to children or infant loss etc. Would love to hear people's thoughts on this.
