Dr for c-section at Mater Hospital

Hi everyone,

I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant and we are expecting our first baby. I really really want to have an elective c-section and after making a few calls to obstetricians this morning asking some questions, I can't decide on a doctor. Please help as I need to book a room at the Mater Crows Nest asap.

I'm after a doctor that has done plenty of c-sections and doesn't leave much of a scar.

This is who I'm considering:

Dr. Stephen Lyons
Dr. Steven Tan
Dr. Adrian Kwok
Dr. Keith Hartman
Dr. Jim Ferry

Hi, I used to work with Adrian Kwok, nice guy and most importantly good dr. I have done heaps of C-sections with him and all was good. Good Luck with It all. If you cant get him or the mater try Dr Stephen Morris, he works at North Shore Private - fantastic.

Dr Steven Tan is the best! Very unassuming and friendly - I had a normal delivery which was beautiful, whilst a mother in my group had a cs under Dr Tan - the scar was so small! She too had a similarly great experience under Dr Tan - North SHore Private was also very good - parking was a real problem though. Good luck:)

I've gone with Dr Tan for my elective c/s and he's great.

I am having a c-section at Mater also, have you worked out your OB yet, as I can offer some advice from my own experiences if you would like...I'm due in Dec, how about you?

Dr Steven Tan is very highly recommended at both North SHore Private and Mater Hospital - he has a very good reputation and is very supportive. I am sure he does a good caesaerean operation. Good luck!:)
