hello, I am in NZ and yesterday afternoon my Son, 2.2, had his first of three men b vax's. He was fine yesterday but at about 8am, NZ time, this morning he started walking stiffly and his temperature shot up. It was hovering around 39.4-39.6 but managed to bring it down using paracetamol and a luke warm bath. Put him in bed for his sleep and when he woke up it was 39.9 bloody scarey stuff (scuse me) have managed to get it down again with more paracetamol (four hour gap in doses) and another bath. now is at 38.8, he seems ok and is responding well, watching dvds, playing, talking, eating a bit. I'm just concerned about how long he can sustain such a high temperature and what happens when he reaches the total amount of doses of paracetamol allowed for one day. Have rang doctors and nurse said this happens in some cases and just monitor his temperature, it's terribly worrying!

I would like to add to this that DS had all his other jabs in the Europe where I had a very good homeopthist, I always gave him a course of homeopathy to help him through his jabs but this time I didn't and this is the first time he's had an adverse reaction...I'll get a homeopathist for the next one

Queenie if you're there, I just tried to report DS's reaction to the nurse at our Doctors practice and she said that 39.9 is not an adverse reaction:mad: well I wish sh'ed been here to deal with my little fella when he come out of his sleep with that sort of temperature, felt pretty adverse to me!
