I want to be a cloth pad user, but unlike cloth diapers there really doesn't seem to be much readily available information. Where do I begin? What do they cost? How do I get started? How many do I need? Where do I buy them from?

There are heaps of online stores where you could buy them. I got two when i bought my lunette so i had tried them already, But all i did was fnd the cheapest ones and bought some more. I love Ecomoon, they have a three pack for you to trial (just google ;)), cheapest ones i have found. I bought liners and some regular ones. All you do is wash them, use them, place them in with your nappies (or clothes but not if you use softener) for af time most women soak them in an icecream container full of water until you have a load for them to go with. Simple :)
Any more questions feel free to ask.

Hi girls  Also try the cloth pad shop online, I like Happy Pads and Twinkle Lily. They can be anywhere from $10-20 in my experience. Depends how often you'll wash them like with nappies, I do 2 a day and 1 at night....will see how i go off the pill though, AF may change...

Yep Obsidian Star is another one, but they are so expensive. I bought 7pads from ecomoon for $30 including post, and they are in NZ. Much Much cheaper, and fantastic customer service.

Thanks for the feedback ladies, I'll by 3 and give them a go! Knowing my luck though I'll receive them and then be UTD and not need them for over a year!
I bought Happy Pads from the Cloth Pad shop and they have been fantastic!

Do you know if they have any good maternity ones.
Thanks for this thread. I have been looking at them too, to use along side my sometimes leaky cup. (still getting the hang of it) but am finding normal pads really REALLY irritate down there now.
I just received my first starter pack of Happy pads. Can't wait to give them a go now! :D
Knowing my luck, AF won't appear for 6 weeks now (PCOS).
