Hi All,
Ive tried to post this twice now but i seem to be having a problem with trying to post things on bub hub today..
Im wanting to know what you would recommend for a 1 year old her there first birthday as in toys and what ever else you can think of.
We are going to spend quite a few hundred on her first as we didnt get her much for xmas as everyone else brought her everything we wanted to get her plus she got spoilt rotten so we only brought her a few outs fits with 2 small toys.
But everyone for her birthday is just buying things she needs as in nappies and everyday things and maybe one or 2 toys as we said we want to spoil her for her birthday and we dont want to double up on the same toys/ clothing.
So df has decided he wants to buy her a flip out couch, single bed doona, and a single bed doona cover for winter as she loves curling up during the day on our couch with our doona if its cold. Not only that a doona will come in handy for when she is older.
Also we are wanting to buy her a few toys and anything else.
If possible could you please give me a brand and the name of the toy that you recommend so i can go and have a look at it and start my laybying :p
thank you ladies.

Thanks for that. We dont have a early learning centre near us i dont think which is a bummer as we have been looking for it. But i have noticed that kmart i think it is has quite alot of wooden stuff there. Might just have to have a look. What sort of activity table are you talking about as dd has one that she can stand around and can bang things to make sounds.? Is that the one your on about?
thank you

My ds just turned one last saturday.
My DS's uncle bought him a flip out couch for his first birthday, the big "sleepover" one its called, they come in two sizes, there's a smaller one and the big one, get the big one they are excellent, and even when they grow bigger they will still be big enough. My son has every nap time on it.
You can get them from Toys R us, they are $130 i think.
DS's nana bought him a fisher price Xylophone (sp?) thingy, its a crocodile shape, he has fun banging away on it. There are other animals too for girls.

We are getting our son a red cozy coupe for his first birthday. It's a big red car that they sit inside and you push them along until they can do it themselves.
Also, his gran is getting him a table and chair set from ikea. The plastic coloured ones. I plan on getting him to sit at it for his snacks to get him use to sitting at a table.
Other than that there are mega blocks, wooden blocks, a little kids kitchen or books.

for xmas my 17month DS got a Fisher Price Spin and Go Zebra. He loves is, its from Kmart and i also think you can get them in toys r us. We got it from Kmart on special for $83.
Your child sits on the zebra and it spins and bounces and everytime they move the zebra plays music sings etc. You can google it

what about a starter for a brio trainset? you could get one for the following birthday when she is 2 as well. she doesn't need to play with it now, but it can go on display or put away until she is old enough.
the great thing about it is that you can add more, and her friends can add more and others too.

Play-doh is lots of fun. My DD got heaps of it around that age and loves playing with it.
Table and chairs, Ikea have a great set.
Wooden puzzles, building blocks.
Fisher-Price Little People sets are always good..
An outside play gym (Target or Kmart have some good ones)
Books - I believe a child can never have too many!

For this age I always try and get something to push, a mower, a pram etc. They love it.
We got our DD (who is 1 in four weeks) the Kmart version of a Smart Trike and a Fisher Price stroller and dolly.
