Hello, My son had his first men b jab yesterday at 4.20 he was absolutely fine until about 8 am this morning and then he started walking funny, I guess he's gone stiff from the jab, his temp is now fluctuating between 39.4 and 39.6 he's a little dozy but reponding well to me. Have given him 5ml of paracetamol and he is currently sitting in a luke warm bath vatching videos, play nicely but temp seems to be staying up, rang doctors they said just monitor him and high temp does happen in some cases. High long can he maintain this sort of temp should I be rushing him back to the doctor, any advise?

I can't offer you any advice, but I just wanted to make sure you report this to your GP, even if he gets better and doesn't really need to see a doctor. The pharmaceutical companies need to know about ALL adverse reactions, big or small, to vaccines so that they can improve them. They can't fix what they don't know about, KWIM? Plus if heaps of kids are having adverse reactions to one particular batch, it might need recalling.

Hope he feels better soon :fingerscrossed: :hugs:

thananks The queen, I shall definately be letting the practice know, I seem to be able to hold the temperature down using paracetamol and a cool bath, which luckily he loves, in front of his favourite dvd's. It's terrible to have this happen after deciding to go dfown the vaccination road, I feel guilty somehow! I'm new on this forum and have just noticed there's a Immunization threat maybe I should post there for more info...
