Childcare Problems

Hi Everyone
Just after some advise.. I am having troubles getting my girls into childcare. I am really starting to stress as i start shift work on the 12th Sept. I know thats a while away still but there is no spots for childcare. My husband is in the defence, so i have got them on base Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Abby), Thursday (Mikayla) and Friday. I need to find a spot for one on Wednesday and the other on Thursday. I am starting a new job, and not sure how to tell him that i can't fidn daycare for those two days. Has anyone got any advice on how to tell them i can't work those days, without losing the job? :confused: I need this job to help support the family.

Is it possible for you to have a friend that can watch them while you wait for childcare spaces? other than that or maybe familyday care if there is any around you? Have you tried asking them if they have any ideas or know of anyone who can help out! Sorry can't be of much help

How flexible is your hub's time during the week. I'm not sure how the defence is, or what his schedule is, but could he take a couple of days off a week for a few weeks to cover until you can find daycare on those days.

Family daycare is another option as suggested.

You might just have to bite the bullet and talk to your boss about starting on reduced shifts until you can get daycare sorted out. I don't really know how to do this if he/she is not understanding, mine is pretty good about me being flexible but I know i've lucked out.

Mum of2: I don't actually have family or friends there, as we are moving there in 2 weeks. They are on the waiting list for family daycare for those days, so fingers crossed something comes up.
MarthaM: With my husband job, he is just been posted and they aint flexable at all. On the phone the guy sounded pretty understanding, so hopefully it will work out.
