View Full Version : Bad ov pain - tmi warning
I had ov pain in my last cycle - mild crampy feeling for 2-3 days that intensified on same day i got +ve on OPK test and then went away after another day or so. I was trying to BD every day to catch my little eggie, but it was a bit painful and not at all enjoyable from 3 days b4 my +ve OPK.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could this mean i have endometriosis or something? Am stressing a bit.....

my internal 'bits' are always sensitive just before O, sometimes even sitting down on a chair the wrong way makes me wince and BD can be uncomfortable due to the tenderness. It usually lasts a day or 2 and then I O ( I am taking my temp and corrolating all this stuff at the moment).
Thanks for that- makes me feel a bit better to know that someone else experiences it too - have u ever been to a doc about it?
Makes it a bit hard to BD at the right time doesnt it - without it feeling like a chore anyway!
Good luck with ttc - got everything crossed for you.
No I haven't been to the doctor about it but have done research on it (using the net) and I cofident that it corrosponds to the pimple or cyst (whatever it is called)that contains the egg being just about ready to pop.
I agree it can be uncomfortable and right at the time you are mean to be BD like crazy (prior to O).
Oh I should say I have had an ultrasound of my ovaries when I MC earlier this year and it was all perfectly normal and I have had hormone level checks this year to (due to a herbalist saying I was perimenopausal *what the??*)
Of course that is not to say you shouldn't get a check up but I just wanted to say that for me that, that pain (prior to O) is just a 'normal' part of my cycle in the day or so prior to O (by the way I have no pain on the actual O day itself, which helps bit on the BD side of things).
thanks for the well wishes on TTC hope to see you on the Due In boards in the future.

Hi guys, I had this exact problem too - BD during O felt like DP was sticking a sharp instrument into my intestines
It did get better though, here are my tips-
1. BD only every second day - I found the more we BD'd the worse it got, so we cut down the BD so as not to aggravate it.
2. Relax, and make sure that you are properly "warmed up" for BD - if you are enjoying yourself then your cervix (or something) gets longer and gives you more room in there, IYKWIM. Also, I think when you are anxious or tense it makes things a lot more painful. So no lying there and just waiting for it to be over :shame:
3. I also had acupuncture and chinese herbs. These might not be necessary for you, as I was being treated for scar tissue following pelvic infections, but it worked wonders for me. If you suspect endometriosis, get it checked out and don't be too scared - chinese medicine can do wonders.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for that info - very helpful!
I've checked out some info on endo and I don't have any of the other symptoms. I actually went to the doc last month when I had the pain (but by the next day when I had the appt the pain was gone!) and he said everything seemed normal, no pain or tenderness.
It might just be a normal part of my cycle, I think I have only just started ovulating again in the past couple of months.
I'll have to try out those tips shelle cos i'm due to ovulate in the next 6-7 days - i'm sure my DP will appreciate it! - Congrats on your BFP too!
Fingers crossed for you happytobe!
Thanks again
