A doctor from the hospital rang me tonight to tell me that the results from my GCT were high. I am devastated. I know it doesn't necessarily mean I have diabetes - but I can't help feeling like I do. My main dissapointment is the probability of not being able to attempt my much wanted vbac(I have so many more questions about that now!!)
How many people had a high result from the GCT and then went on to have a normal pregnancy? What could have caused it to be high if I don't have diabetes??
I am feeling really upset about this - I jsut wanted this pregnancy to be simple! Just let me be a 2 year old for a minute........."It's not fair!!!!"
I know i'm probably overreacting, but it was the last thing I was expecting. I am going to have the test on Friday so if everyone could please :fingerscrossed: for me! Otherwise I will be back here asking ALOT of questions!!!
Thanks for reading. Sorry if this is a bit jumbled, just needed to get it out.

It was the one hour test, It's the longer one I am going for tomorrow. So it really helps to hear you got the all clear after that!

Alot of people fail the one hour test and then go on to pass the 2 hour.
Try not to stress out too much, I know it's hard though. Statistically the odds are definitely on your side ;)

Don't stress too much yet. Wait for your next test. And if you do have GD it doesn't rule out a VBAC. I had GD in my last pregnancy, I contolled it with diet and exercise and I had a fantastic VB.
:hugs: coming your way, the wait is just awful. But try not to let it get you down. With my first son my first glucose test was high, but the second was normal.
:fingerscrossed: for you!

Thanks so much for all the positive replies!! Makes me feel better about it. I have since calmed down  and will just do the test tomorrow and worry about it if and when I have to!
