Is it only me that will not let their baby chew/suck other childrens toys?!!
I went to a party thing on Saturday, and I took my own toys for bubby, and this other little baby cam crawling over and started shoving them in his mouth with his mother just watching.
I would not let my kids do that, so I then had to "nicely" take the toys off him and consequently Zara...... so I could take it home and wash it.
Is that anal?
I am the same... I'm such a germ freak...
Lucky, I think my SIL's are the same because they either bring own toys or don't let them suck on them.

Considering mine used to eat dead spiders and flies off the floor that the vacuum cleaner missed, it didn't bother me that my kids sucked on other kids toys too much.

I wouldn't say anal....but.......
I'm kind of from the school of exposure to germs is a good thing...and besides once they're interacting more with other kids there's little you can do about this. They *will* exchange bodily fluids despite your best efforts ;)
I guess the other bub's mum was a bit like me.... I would think "oh jeez I hope she doesn't give her anything" but I wouldn't take the toys away or wash them....
does that sound bad
I have to say that I usually don't mind Liv & her little friends sharing toys, even if they do suck on them. I am good friends with the mums of the kiddies that she plays with & know that they wouldn't bring them over if they were ill or anything so I don't really mind. Just today she had a play date & she & her little friend swapped drink cups, they both wanted each others & after trying to get them to drink out of there own cups for awhile, we just gave up & they were both happy to drink there water :o
Ciao,
Brooke.
I am all for kids sharing toys

Yea doesn't bother me either, unless one of the children was obviously ill or something. But each to their own though:yes:

doesn't bother me uness theres an illness.
as a kid, i shared toys, drinks..whatever.
Depends, I dont tend to frequent people's houses who are gross or anything  so nope, dont really have a problem, a bit of germ sharing helps build their immune system  ;)

i wouldn't have liked it when say bub was under about 7 or 8 months old - now that he is 17 months....well, considering he has eaten his own poo before   ....I don't have a prob with it.

I try to prevent DD from sucking on other kids toys...but it doesn't bother me too much when other kids do it to hers (unless they're obviously sick...in which case I wouldn't be visitting them anyway).
In all honesty, she does worse than suck on toys...I found a dead cockroach leg hanging out of her mouth oneday (so I'm assuming she actually ATE the cockroach! :barf: ). I'm not too much of a germs freak...and she's hardly ever been sick.

I wouldnt like it either especially while bubs is at an age of putting the toys into their mouths. I look at it like being the same as drinking from the same cup i wouldnt allow my bubs to do that.
Once they stop eating their toys then id become fine with the whole sharing around the toys thing.

i had to put some ds's toys away at his 1st bday party coz a 4 yr old boy kept snatching them off ds and the mum wouldnt do anything about it:no: poor ds was upset that his toys were being taken off him by an older kid.
i am not too worried about putting things in his mouth as long as the things are clean. if its a dirty yukky looking toy i will take it off him.
It doesn't really worry me. Unless there are sick kids. But as a rule I don't put anything up.
Doesn't worry me in the slightest. They will put much grosser things in their mouths than a bit of spit.
I'm fine with it... all helps to get the immune system going.

Doesn't bother me. Althoug when ds was at the everything in the mouth stage I would take another childs toy from him, but generally the mother would be fine with it so he'd get it back. I had no problem with other kids chewing his toys. What would annoy me would be an older child playing with a babies(0-6 months - before tehy are mobile and putting all sorts of nasties in their mouth) toy and the mother just letting them do it. God only knows where those little hands have been!! No sense in a 5 month old bub getting a tummy bug because some little kid didn't wash their hands!

Don't worry I feel the same way about not liking it when Samuel sucks on other babies' toys and vice versa. Then again, it is so hard to control these things. I just make sure Samuel or any of the other kids aren't ill.
However, at the doctor's, this is where I don't let Samuel touch anything. We bring our own toys and books. You never know what you'll pick up at a place where people get treated for all kinds of things. Yes I'm weird that way!
