At the moment ds has a good night routine going, he has a bath at about 5.30-6, a bottle at about 6-6.30, and in bed by 7pm. I get him up for a dreamfeed at 10.30 and then he will usually sleep till about 6.30am.
Then during the day, he just naps wherever he falls asleep, eg. his rocker, the pram etc. sometimes they are longish naps (about an hour or so) other times they are about 20 mins, or he might get woken up by his sister. Some days he will only have about four 20 min naps. But I have noticed that his sleepy times and the times he is most likely to fall asleep are around 8am, 12pm and 4pm.
Anyway should I start putting him into his cot for daytime sleeps? I don't want to muck up the good night time routine we have going, and regardless of how much he has (or hasn't) slept during the day, he still sleeps well at night.. so should I just leave it the way it is for now? Or get him used to set nap times?

I put DS and DD in their cot for naps from the day they came home from the hospital.:p

DS has been starting to nap in his cot more the last couple of weeks...so from 8 weeksish.
He doesn't have a routine so no risks of anything there!

I started around 12 weeks. It took awhile but DS eventually quit the catnapping and started having good day sleeps of 1.5-2 hours I think around 5 months.

I too changed her day sleep to the cot at about 3 months. I didn't want my DD to get too used to sleeping in the rocker during the day and I preferred to make the transition sooner rather than later. It took her a few days to get used to it, but took to it pretty easily. I distinguish the difference between daytime and nighttime sleeps by using a sleeping bag only at night, obviously there's also the difference of it being lighter in her room during the day.

Well I have gradually started putting him in the cot since yesterday arvo, and this morning (we were out in the arvo so he slept in the pram there but thats great, he needs to get used to not just sleeping in his cot too so I can go do stuff still) so far he does settle but is still only cat napping grr. But, it hasn't effected his night sleeps, I was worried he would get confused because he only goes in there at night, which I guess is why I should make the change now, rather than when he is more aware etc. :ecomcity:
I only use a sleeping bag or just as is during the day, he is still wrapped at night though (another issue to tackle soon, as he grunts and carries on trying to get his arms out during the night lol but he settles to sleep better)
