I'm keen to go and buy my son's winter clothing for next year now that the sales are on. I'm happy with clothing size but I have no idea on what shoe size he is likely to be - he is slightly smaller than the average baby.

I would really appreciate mothers with boys aged 14 - 20 months to give me an indication of the length of their foot/shoe size.

Thanks in advance ...

I would say a 3-4, but if he is on the smaller size than maybe a 3. the thing is shoes can be like clothes, different brands can make their sizes bigger or smaller, which can make it a bit tricky to plan ahead. i do know that from about 15-20mths, give or take cooper was in a size 4, but he is a pretty big boy. hope this helps a bit :) (he totally skipped size 5 and is now in a size 6, except for his boots, they are a 7, and he is now 27mths)

I know you said boys... my apologies :) DD is 22 months and has been in size 5 for a few months now, she sort of skipped size 4, or I missed it (oops). She's on the small size (25% for girls), so probably a 4 or 5 would be a good bet.

The good thing with shoes, depending where you live, is that they don't necessarily have to be seasonal so you could put off shoe purchases till the summer sales when you'd have a better idea of size. For this winter I have only bought her a pair of good sneakers, leather tops instead of fabric to keep her feet drier. We don't play out in the wet much & perth isn't that cold, so I haven't bothered with boots.
